I want to show data from XML into tabs.plz give me any example which parse XML file and display into in tab..
I am building an application for Android (1.5) that, after quering a webservice, shows to the user a big amount of data that should be displayed in a "grid" or "table" style.
I must show a result of about 7 columns and 50 rows (for example a customer list with names, addresses, telephone number, sales amount last year and so).
Obviously, the 7 columns will not fix in the screen and I would like the user would be able to scroll up/down and LEFT/RIGHT (important because of the number of columns) to explore the grid results.
cell selection level is NOT necessary, as much I would need row selection level.
What is the best approach to get this interface element? Listview / GridView / TableLayout?
Here is my Arrival.Java. May i know why isn't there any data being shown on my ListView?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to show a "grid" or "table" of data in a pop-up dialog box on Android.
Basically, a column listed down the left with rows of names, for example, then multiple columns to the right of the names with values in columns.
Is this possible?
public class List_View extends ListActivity {I would like to show stored data from database into a ListView. Code... Title and Date only.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have not found an example yet with a solution to the following task.
I have a SQLite database with two tables- BOOK and AUTHOR. I execute a query on the DB that uses a join and results in a cursor that looks like this. code...
New authors and books can be added to the database at any time, and I also need the user to be able to remove books, hence the [ ] checkboxes.
So i have two row layouts, row_author.xml & row_book.xml. I detect when I need to show a row_author subheading by seeing when the current author has changed compared to the previous row. But I have realized that the rendering of an Author Row will then move the cursor forward one row and jump over their first book.
Can anyone suggest a good approach to presenting data like this? Is there a much better way to do this?
I want to read data from database and displayed it in table layout form. table will contain n rows and 2 columns. But row size is not fixed then how to show them in table layout format?

View 4 Replies View RelatedOK, before I start, it's about an LT15i. I don't know what's happening, but at some .FTFs Flashtool does not show the file list (middle column) and neither "wipe cache" or data and one FTF has the "wipe cache" option only. This is really annoying. Tutorials specify a download link for a specific FTF and after starting Flashtool and selecting the flash option, that FTF is not showing up properly. Should I download an earlier version of the program?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm making an Android Java app game (although this question applies to all languages really) and hope to release the first version soon. I'm nervous about how I save data in my game. My problem is that, if in a later update, I decide to store more data or store the same data in a different way, I need to be careful I don't lose or corrupt data for users that upgrade (i.e. I want users to be able to use data created by an old version in the new version, like their high scores from before).For example, say I want to save high scores in version 1.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI know I'm not the only person that gets emails with embedded html or inlined images via google mail. When I get emails like this, I have to click on "Show HTML" or "Show Picture" every single time an email comes in if I actually want to see the email the way it was intended to be shown. I know for a fact that iphones and other email readers dont have any issues with this. Is there a setting to automatically display the email the way it was meant to be shown instead of having to click these buttons each time I want to view the email correctly? Or, perhaps there's already a market app that forces the android email client to display emails correctly?
View 4 Replies View RelatedCan anyone help explain what this does? I did a small search around the internet, and it came up with just about nothing.My first question is: I turned mobile data off, and yet, during the night, I was charged for data, so something leaked.Personally, I thought if this was because of this particular function. But maybe it was something else.So, I turned it off, but around the forums for other androids people seem to think that syncing doesn't work as well with this disabled.Does anybody know what might have happened? And could this function have been the thing that caused the leak.The leak, was actually for only 50 KB or so, but because I'm on Page Plus, it caused me to go under the required balance to refill of $29.95 and caused my plan to lapse. It's important for me for this not to happen again. Can anyone give any tips?

I am using this layout code...
I'm creating an Android app, where the user starts out seeing a list of questions. When the user clicks a question, I would like to show him a new clickable list, containing that question and its answer alternatives.
My questions reside in rows in the database. The questions live in the first column, while the answer alternatives live in the following columns.
I've managed to display any single element from the row when I click a question in the list, but how to display more than one completely eludes me.
This is the relevant source code in the intent entered when the user clicks a question:
private void fillData() {
Bundle extras = getIntent().getExtras();
Long id = extras != null ? extras.getLong(QuestionsDbAdapter.KEY_ROWID) : null;
Cursor questionsCursor = mDbHelper.fetchQuestion(id);
startManagingCursor(questionsCursor);
String[] from = new String[]{mDbHelper.KEY_QUESTION,
mDbHelper.KEY_ALT1,mDbHelper.KEY_ALT2};
int[] to = new int[]{R.id.text1};
SimpleCursorAdapter questions =
new SimpleCursorAdapter(this, R.layout.questions_one_row,
questionsCursor, from,to);
setListAdapter(questions);}
This displays only the question. If I put one of the answer alternatives first in the 'String[] from ...' statement, that gets displayed instead.

I have written my input method on lines of LatinIME. My IME "MyIME" has a service and an activity similar to LatinIME.
Installing it to emulator via eclipse does not seem to work and hence I have tried the following approaches.
MY GOAL: ~~~~~~~~ All I need as the first step to know that I am heading in the correct direction is that I should be able to see "My IME" as one of the available input methods. For example, on any EditText, when I "long click & release", the Input Method menu that pops up must also show "My IME" as one of the available input methods.
However so far the pop-up only shows "Android keyboard" (LatinIME). Hence I tried the following approaches.
Approach-1: =========== I checked out the andorid source code and built & ran it successfully to make sure I got the build process right. I created my project in ~/mydroid/packages/inputmethods/MyIME. It has the package structure 'com.android.inputmethod.myime' (to be in line with Android's package structure, I am not sure if this is required).
I ran a build using "make". Make succeed in compiling MyIME, just like LatinIME and all the android tools were also created. However looking at the build output, LatinIME was installed into /system/app/ LatinIME.apk while MyIME was not installed at all.
Question with respect to approach-1: ------------------------------------ 1. How to get the build process to install MyIME into /system/app as MyIME.apk?
Since install did not happen via the build process, I started the newly built emulator (and newly built ddms to watch logs) and used follownig install approaches:
Approach-2: =========== I ran 'ant debug' to get MyIMESettings-debug.apk. Then I ran 'adb install MyIMESettings-debug.apk'. The attempt failed with the message "Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_UPDATE_INCOMPATIBLE]". Hence I tried the approach-3.
Question with respect to approach-2: ------------------------------------ 2. Why did the install fail when the project was built using 'ant debug'? Is it some thing to do with debug signature?
Approach-3: =========== The build process had created an APK file but hadn't installed it (/ mydroid/out/target/product/generic/obj/APPS/MyIME_intermediates/ package.apk) I renamed that package.apk to MyIME.apk and installed it using "adb install MyIME.apk". The install succeed. However, the adb install put my APK under /data/app with the name "com.android.inputmethod.myime.apk" instead with name MyIME.apk
Question with respect to approach-3: ------------------------------------ 3. Is there any way to get "adb install MyIME.apk" to install into / system/app folder?
Again, what I am trying to achieve is mentioned under "MY GOAL".
