View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to implement Camera application in android, and i got some code from net to create a Live Camera through WebCam.Upto this no problem. Now i have to capture the images when click the button, and i displayed the captured images in the Dialog window.Without any exception the program is running but the captured image is not displayed, some default image is displayed.
My code is.
CODE:.........
I have no idea from where this default image is coming.
I am writing an app to capture the camera preview frames and convert it to bitmap in Android.
Here is my code:...........
After I start preview, the callback got called with data, but the bitmap is null.
What did I do wrong when convert the byte array to BitMap?
I am adding a bmp file to the media store using the line below. I then go to the gallery application and it shows the image, but shows it under "Camera Pictures". Is there a way to change this to its own group, perhaps to its own group? Do I need a custom content provider for this.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm creating an app for posting pictures to a particular proprietary social site. I have it working with the camera and the IMAGE_CAPTURE intent. I want to add the ability to do this from pictures in the Gallery. I seem to have everything wired up, but I'm scratching my head how to get the image from the intent when my activity is lauched from the Gallery's share menu. In onCreate, the code getIntent().getDataType() returns "image/jpeg", as expected, but how to I get the picture from the Gallery into my ImageView?
The code at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2206397/android-intent-action-send... suggests how the Gallery app is adding the picture by means of emailIntent.putExtra(Intent.EXTRA_STREAM, Uri.fromFile(png)); but on my end, it's not clear to me at all how to get that Uri from the intent.
My camera stopped working. When I click my camera application I get the message "The application camera (process com.android.camera) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again". It's just a blank screen?

View 1 Replies View RelatedTrying to make Tasker automatically open and populate Astrid todo's task edit fields the way that so many other apps can using the Share menu. With pretty much any app being able to do this using Share, I figured it wouldn't be too hard to make Tasker do the same, but I'm having trouble finding out how.
I'm using the beta of Tasker so Send Intent replaces the previous two intent actions. The fields available are Action, Category, Mime Type, Extra, Package, Class, and Target. Right now Package is set to com.timsu.astrid and Class to com.todoroo.astrid.activity.TaskEditActivity, which manages to open the task edit screen. That intent is however from the Astrid widget so I don't know if that's even the right thing to use if doing this via the Share ability.
A couple months ago i finally decided i needed to get a new phone because it seemed the camera on my old w810i was starting to **** out - it wouldn't focus very well and the camera button wouldn't snap a picture too reliably anymore. I figured it was probably because i had taken thousands and thousands of images over the time i had the phone since 2006 does anyone understand what I'm talking about and can tell me if I'm doing something wrong or how to fix this in the x10?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy app offers a "share/tell-a-friend" function. When the "share" button is pressed the following method is being called to open a list of apps, which can perform the action (Eg. Gmail, Twittroid, Facebook...):
CODE:...............
The sharing functionality works basically. But when the sharing app (Facebook, Twitter, ...) tries to return to my app, a force close is thrown.
I guess that my app gets closed in the background during the sharing process... at least that is what the debugger sais...
The problem seems to be that the app closes in the background. Also when I open the browser from my app an try to return to my app with the back key. A force close is thrown.
This is the Log Cat output:

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an application for which I am planning to release both a free and a paid version. I found that this will require the two versions of the application to each have different package names.
When a user upgrades from the free version to the paid version, the paid version needs to be able to access the database built by the free version. I am trying to understand the best way to make sure that upgrade does not disrupt the user's data.
I have read that the AndroidManifest file setting for shared user id should allow both applications to access the same data. I don't need the applications to both be running simultaneously, as I expect the user will uninstall the free version after upgrading to the paid version. However I need to make sure that if possible the user's data is not lost and is still accessible and usable by the paid version of the application.
I have read about a problem with the shared user id where uninstalling one application will cause the other shared application to stop working because its permissions get deleted, (see details at http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=2773 ) Apparently this issue is fixed in doughnut, but since all the currently deployed android phones do not have doughnut yet, this still seems like a significant problem.
In addition to the database information, I would also like to preserve the user's default shared preferences settings after the upgrade. However the default shared preference settings are not as critical as the data in the database.
Can anyone tell me if there is an application to get a zoom for the camera in the x10 mini. If so can you tell me the name of it (hopefully a free app)
Must admit although I love the phone I was a little annoyed i had to download an app to be able to send things via bluetooth!

I found that if i use UrlEncodedFormEntity and send the image data through that. the webservice doesn't receive that. ( at least it will not be able to read that .) In fact if i add some vars to send with the image data ( like name of the file, filesize ) they can be read from the webservice but the image data still doesn't appear if i try to read it serverside.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to have my android phone connect to my servlet and send it a certain image. The way I figured I would do this, is to use the copyPixelsToBuffer() function and then attempt to send this to the servlet through some output stream(similar to how I would do it in a normal stand alone java application). Will this way work? If so, what kind of stream do I use exactly? Should I just use DataOutputStream..
