Lets say you have a normal textview, with "Stackoverflow" written in it, I would like to know if it it possible to rotate the textview about -90°, to have the S at the bottom and the W at the top of the screen?
of course, i could write my text in an image, rotate it and use it that way, but im interested in text right now.

I have a ListView that contains an Image on the left of two vertically-oriented TextViews using a RelativeLayout. When both TextViews have text it looks fine. Sometimes the TextView on the bottom won't have any text, and the problem is that the entire layout is several pixels above where it should be because it still reserves that space for text when there isn't any making the entire list have annoying blank gaps. I remember seeing an example of where someone made the layout not reserve the space, but I can't remember how he did it.

I made a custom alert dialog box to be displayed at the end of my game so that the player can enter its name to save it. The problem is when I call show() on the dialog appears but it's not vertically centered! It's a bit lower than it should and no matter what properties I set in the xml or when using setGravity().

As i am facing limitation of layout depth in my application, i am replacing some LinearLayout with RelativeLayout. I'm coming from a Windows programming background where the device adjusts the 'absolute' positioning for you and GUI layout was a non-issue.The first layout works great in the emulator, but doesn't format for my Nexus One or any other screen that differs from the emulator size. I have a WebView widget in my app that displays custom HTML content.The code is really simple - the class that handles the layout also implements the WebViewClient methods. It loads the html data into the WebView. The app works well on all OS's except Froyo. On Froyo the WebView doesn't respond to vertical scroll event it can scroll horizontally though.I had a onFling event listener - which has been disabled, but still no luck.

The problem is that 'drawableTop' image is aligned to the top border of the Button view. I would like to center it (together with text label) vertically on the button. 'android:gravity' seems to work only on text label. It does not affect 'drawableTop' positioning.
I was able to center it vertically using 'android:paddingTop' - but that does not seem to be a good idea. I guess it would not work properly on different screen resolution/size.
I tried to search discussions and couldn't find definite answer or example in old thread. I want my tabs to realign vertically in the landscape mode. Currently I have to use buttons which is sorta silly when there is a tab control..

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've already written a game engine in java using eclipse and opengl es, I had one project (an android project) which contained both of my packages com.logic.engine com.logic.testapp I wanted a way to keep my engine and test app seperate, I've made an earlier post about how this is done, and I figured out how to reference one project in the build path of another (or just creating a jar file). My problem is that, lets say I now have my engine all wrapped up in an android project com.logic.engine, and now someone would like to use this engine to create a game, so they create an android project com.someclient.game, well now because we have one android project referencing another, it crashes everytime. Now obviously i need the android sdk in my engine package in order to reference things, but its also required on the client app, since the activity is what is actually being run by android. I guess my question is, how can i create a project for my game engine without it being an android project, but still referencing the android sdk, and without causing it to crash the client app using it?
