Android :: Market Doesn't Refresh Downloads?
Jan 7, 2010My downloads and installs stopped two days ago, and I don't see any changes on the market (developer console). They never stay the same, so I think, market doesn't refresh them.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got the weirdest problem ever with my HTC Hero. The gmail application does not refresh automatically so as to fetch incoming e-mail. Even worse, it doesn't even do that when I manually do that (menu --> refresh)There is one situation: If I change one of the settings for Labels ("description = select which labels are syncronised") it does fetch e-mail from my inbox, but only if I manually refresh. It doesn't make any sense that my gmail application can only fetch new mails after a (random) modifcation in my settings. I would like my gmail to refresh .... well.. as often as possible and automatically, since I will not know beforehand when someone has sent me a mail.
For the moment my label settings are as follows:days for syncronisation: 1 day
labels
inbox: syncronise for all items
with star: syncronise for all items
eehh. well actually all my folders are "syncronise for all items"
I've got an HTC Desire & downloaded a few apps/widgets from the market today. They seem to have downloaded ok and I can see them sitting in the 'downloads' tab of the market...but how do I actually get them from here onto my device to use them?
(Things I've tried...clicking on them in 'downloads' just shows more info on them and clicking install just re-downloads them, longholding just brings up info about them, I can't find a 'downloads' folder on my mobile, they aren't appearing with the other widgets or programs, adding the market on my mobile just links me back to the market homepage...i cant see anything in the user manual or learn more sections that is of help on this - they both say to go to all programs and my downloads but I don't have a my downloads just downloads section in the market which doesn't seem to move them to my device?).
I have a brand-new HTC Desire in front of me, and cannot get a couple of functions to work properly (yet), as for instance the facebook and mail widgets. I figured out that it would be a good start to get the newest versions of all those applications and widgets that make trouble, but when I try downloading anything using Android Market, the downloads get stuck at "Starting download...", apparently indefinitely. I have seen that others had this problem too, but I could not find a solution yet.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to download a couple of apps from the Android market (not at the same time) and they are going painfully slow, if at all. They are showing in the 'currently downloading' frame but don't appear to be doing anything. I am using wifi to download the apps and I have never had an issue before. Could anyone help?

View 23 Replies View RelatedI need to develop an application with downloads the data at the background and update about the progress in the front.
I guess this can be achieved using services and activity and passing data in between the. But, what I need to do is even if I hit back button and then start the activity again. It should check if the service is running or not. If service is not running it should start one else it should display the data from running service.
Something like music player where music is played by a service at a background and activity displays the information. Even on browsing through other activities of the application or hitting back, state of the music player is maintained.
I have an application published in marketplace and its not updating the active users/number of downloads on the phone display or the developer console. My other application appears to be fine. Anyone else seeing this? Also when the application was uploaded over the weekend there were issues with setting the location targeting. I could not restrict it to US only.

I'm running Froyo on an N-1.I have uninstalled some of the apps that I previously purchased, and I no longer want them to appear in the Downloads area of the Market app. However, they still show up there with the "Purchased" designation, and they contribute to the count of updated apps whenever Market checks for updates.I have followed the instructions here, but they do not work for me:Removing deleted apps from downloads listing.Any ideas as to how I can keep these non-longer-installed, previously purchased apps from showing up within my list of Downloads?

It would be great if I could use TabHost, but I believe it doesn't allow this level of customization.
My hero keeps drop calling so Orange r sending me a new handset tomorrow. When I log back on to my Google account, on the new h.s will my app still show in my downloads on the market?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased an HTC Desire and have been very happy with it. All was going smoothly until recently when my Market downloads suddenly started hanging, both free and purchased ones. I have internet connection - no problem there. The only thing I can think of that has changed is that I recently converted from googlemail to gmail. Could that have any effect? Anyone have a suggestion as to how I might fix this short of a total reset of my phone to factory settings?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI seem to have a bit of difficulty with the market (ever since using Market Enabler). All the apps I choose to download just sit at "Starting Download" until I turn wifi off and on and reconnect to my network. Has anyone else experienced this?I've tried switching fake carriers a few times, which I seem to need to do anyway, cuz paid apps seem to disappear after a while.

View 49 Replies View RelatedMy installed apps aren't showing up in the downloads section of the market. Yet if I search for them in the market it says they are installed and I am able to update them. I read that installing a new app somehow refreshes the list so I tried that but didn't help. Tried the market doctor in TiBu that didn't work either. So then clicked restore all apps and after that didn't work I went as far as to wipe my phone and reflash my rom and restored my apps again with TiBu, still nothing.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm running Nextheme 1.1, Fab's release and whenever I go to the market downloads it shows nothing except Google maps. Is there a fix to this? Also whenever I do something like browse the Internet or run pandora and play a game my phone freezes and then shuts off. Is this all direct result of 2.2?
View 7 Replies View RelatedDon't know what happened but the my downloads section looks like it does after a factory reset, with all the free downloads not listed, the difference though is that if I search for them in the market, they all still show as installed. anyone have any ideas?

View 9 Replies View RelatedAnyone lately get the Google talk authentication error notification repeatedly and find that they can no longer download apps from the Android market? Mine is going on the third day now and endless Google searches reveal that this problem has affected various Android devices worldwide, including the Incredible that just came out. I've tried all kind of suggestions but none work and there doesn't seem to be any official response from Google on the matter. I wonder if it is a hardware problem since these forums are not buzzing on these issues at all. In my case the phone worked perfectly for 2 days after activating and knowing how high the demand has been surely more people would be experiencing the same issues were it a device or cloud software problem. If anyone else has the same problems please post here.

I have one app (Astro File Manager) that is stuck in my downloads in the Market. I uninstalled the app, and it stays there. If I click on it, it takes me to the page for AFM, and if I click on cancel download, it force closes my market. I had about 6 apps doing the same thing, but when I clicked on them and canceled the download, and re updated, they all worked fine. Astro is the only one giving my problems. Any ideas on how to stop it and just redownload?
View 11 Replies View RelatedSo, I've been having issues with my Droid X and downloads in the Market not starting, I've had to do a few data resets to fix the problem. I recently called Verizon complaining and they sent me out a replacement Droid X. The first app that I installed was Launcher Pro and then downloaded quite a few more apps. A few hours later I tried download more apps and they have again gotten stuck on "starting download". I called Verizon tech support and explained what was going on, he then proceeded to tell me that he can guarantee that Launcher Pro is the cause of the problems and that I need to delete it. He claims that it does not work properly with the X. I told him that I got an X on July 1 and did not have a problem with the Market until recently and he again said that LP is causing the problem. Has anyone else heard of this, it makes no sense at all.

View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter implementing some Android Apps, including several Map activities, I try to refresh the activity when the GPS listener's onLocationChanged() mehtod is called. I have no idea how to tell the map activity to refresh on its own and display the new coords. the coords to store will have to be in global values, so that the location listener will have access to it. In my sample GPS-class (see code below) I just changed the text of a text view....but how to do that in map view?

WHy Is the market so bad. It's such a pain in the as#.Yes I know its being vamped in the next ROM update, but for now search for a word 8 results found.Would it be too much to ask to show me the 8 results found rather then showing me a error asking me to check my spelling. Try another key word or be more general?I already know there are 8 results why can't i see them.
