Android :: Linear Layout Focus And Children Change Foreground Color?

I have a LinearLayout with 2 text View as its children. How can I make the children of LinearLayout to change foreground color (in this case, the text color of the text view) when the linearlayout has focus?

I have a linear layout that I have overridden because I want to > dynamically add other views to it. I am trying to add some textviews > to it and I call addViewToLayout in the onLayout method. Can't you just add your views to the layout using addView()? I have one custom LinearLayout and this is what I do and it works fine. No need to override onLayout() or onDraw(). Maybe try that

I was wondering if its possible to block the onclick events on a layout and all the children inside the layout.
for example, I have a LinearLayout and inside that I have buttons and an editText. At a certain point I don't want the user to click on the buttons or edit the text. Is there a way to block that? Do I have to do it for each view? or I can do it for a Layout? What is the best way to do this?

I have a subclass of android.app.Dialog and because I am using a light theme, the dialog title comes out as Black on a dark background which is hardly readable. This leads me to the question: how do I change the Dialog title background or foreground colors? Can I do this via a theme? Which property will it map to?

I have the following linear layout. What I don't understand is if I set the background to another image, the padding information are reset. Is there a way to prevent this?

I am developing an application that has a button whose color should change green color on focusing on the button and the color of button should change to red on clicking the button. I am using setBackgroundResource() in the onClick and onLongClick listeners. Though it changes the button color, it also changes the button shape by making it look like a rectangle.
How can this be solved?

Is there a way to get all the children views of a layout, from the Java code so that I can loop through them and set an attribute? Specifically, I'd like to set the "layout_width" based on the screen size. Since this "layout_width" would be the same for all the views, I'd prefer to loop through instead of calling each individual View separately by their id. The following is my main.xml:

I don't know what I did but for a period of time my TabWidget had white colored tabs which looked really nice. I never set a theme or background/foreground color in my project at all. The next time I compiled it it reverted back to the gray tabs. My application is using the default dark theme. Even if I set the application theme to light, the tabs are still gray. So obviously it was something else that changed the tabs' color. Anyone know how to do this?

I've noticed a strange thing with a TableRow.

This code doesn't work properly as TextView text1 doesn't wrap it just stretches beyond the screen. I've managed to get it working by embedding this LinearLayout into RelativeLayout but it seems to be the least elegant solution plus I don't understand what's wrong with the code above...

Is there a way to do a linear layout with multiple lines? I want to lay out a variable set of buttons with variable labels, so I'd like to use a layout that works as a simple horizontal LinearLayout, but with multiple lines, so the buttons spill into a second (or third) line if they don't fit on the first one.

I have this really annoying problem:In my widget, i would like to change the background by code. I noticed on the Google doc than I can easily change the background of an Imageview: remoteViews.setImageViewResource (R.id.my_iv, R.drawable.my_bg);Ok, too easy, i want to change now the Linear layout.. I have a custom layout that draws a transparent rounded rectangle beneath its children. The problem is when I try to add it to my xml file, it doesn't show up. Also, when I try to add parameters to it (i.e. android:layout_width) the popup shows that none of them are available.
