I have a RadioGroup inside of a RelativeLayout. I've got a few RadioButtons for different options, like "Bob", "Joe", and "Fred". However, I need to add an "Other..." option with an EditText right next to a RadioButton in case a user wants to enter "Steve". Is there a way to do this?

Can you please tell me how can I place an background image to a the left upper corner of TextView in android? I would like the image not to be scaled by android.
I have tried
Resources res = getResources();
setCompoundDrawables(res.getDrawable(R.drawable.icon48x48_1), null, null, null);
Nothing is shown.
And I have tried
setBackground(R.drawable.icon48x48_1);
But it stretches the image.

In a RelativeLayout I have a Button to the right of a TextView. The problem is that the text view gets squished to the left of the screen.I want the Button to be squished to the right and the TextView take up all the remaining space.I can't use 'Fill Layout' on the TextView because the button then gets removed from the View completely.

I have two activities or "screens".
The second activity has an AlertDialogBox with radiobuttons for selecting a single option.
I want that after an option has been selected from the second activity's DialogBox, it should be displayed on the first activity screen in a text-view.
That is, suppose the user chooses "Green" from the dialogbox in the second activity, then "Green" should be displayed on the first activity screen.
Whats the way to pass a radiobuttonvalue to the textview?

I have a ListView, which is in singleChoice mode. All I want is to display a RadioButton to the side, that when clicked highlights to say it is selected, and when a different one is clicked that one goes back to unselected and the new one becomes selected. Why is this so hard? This should not be this complicated. I've spent DAYS looking for an appropriate answer to this and I have found nothing, so I'm asking hopefully in a clear and concise manner.
My layout for the listview (R.layout.view_orders):
CODE:.............
My custom row (R.layout.orders_row):
CODE:.................
My onCreate() method:
CODE:.................
Now everything underlying works as expected, you click on a radiobutton and through it's tag I can appropriately select that item from the list and manipulate it how I want. However, when the first radio button is clicked, the last one will be selected. Click that same radio button again, and it is now selected as well. Click it once more and nothing happens, both the last and the first are selected. Now I click any other one on the list, it gets selected like expected. Click anyone of the selected radio buttons and nothing happens, the radio button remains selected.
I have tried using the following in onCreate():
CODE:.................
And that just shows no radio buttons at all. AWESOME.
Now maybe (read: most likely), I'm just dense and can't figure this out, but I've seen this question asked a lot with no real answer. Lots of references to other tutorials or to the Commonsware guy's book. However, the comments are old now and his repository has changed so much, that those are no longer correct answers.
So, does anyone have any idea how to get the expected functionality out of this? Or failing that, just pass me along the GMail app's source code.

The left lower side of my battery cover doesn't fully snap into place, causing an annoying gap. It was never like this, but I took the cover off to remove the battery, and when I tried to put it back in, it wouldn't snap. I tried a different cover and it still didn't fit... I have no idea why it wont snap in all of a sudden. Anyone else have this? I'm on my fourth epic, If I have to go to #5 I might just say forget it and save my upgrade

I'm using a framelayout to position 2 buttons in the center of the screen. I'm anchoring from the center (using layout gravity = center_horizontal) then applying Layout margin left = 50dip and Layout margin right = 50dip to each button. In 2.2 the margins are being drawn much larger than the numbers I've declared (50dip/50dip). It looks more like 125 or 150. Oddly enough, this doesn't appear to be happening with margin bottom/top, only left/right. Is this a bug, or a sign that I'm doing something incorrectly?

I have a layout in which I am displaying a webview. I want to add images on top of the webview at specific places through code.
Can some one please tell me how to do that?
The translucent background example in API Demos makes the view cover the whole screen. I want to place only a small image and at a specific location (origin not 0,0).

I am not able to find out the perfect layout(viewgroup) to place four buttons as shown in the attached image. Basically, i want to place four buttons near the top/left/bottom/right edge of the screen. AbsoluteLayout helped, but it is deprecated (It is also better to avoid AbsoluteLayout as it is not very flexible for orientation changes)

I want to have a textview (like a console or output window), which scrolls. I saw on this list that the TextView will not scroll on its own unless I wrap it in a ScrollView. So I did that and it worked. The problem is, it seemed no matter what I did I could not get the TextView to be higher than one line. This was only when it was embedded in the ScrollView, and didn't seem to change whatever I set the TexView's layout_height to.
Here is my layout:

When a marker is clicked on google map, a small square area is displayed with hyperlinks. I guess OverlayItem does not render hyperlinks for its snippet. How to achieve this? Ideally I want to assign a layout with all sorts widgets. Presume I can display a small floating activity window when the marker is clicked, but is this the standard way doing this? The drawback of floating activity window is that if want to click another marker, user has to dismiss the current window first.

How do you get the text of a TextView to be Justified (with text flush on the left- and right- hand sides)?
I found a possible solution here, but it does not work (even if you change vertical-center to center_vertical, etc).
