I want to launch an android application from a remote server, i can see that in J2ME there is a class called PushRegistry, this class resolve this problem in ME but in android I cant do it.

I want to know how to do this, I've been fiddling with Tasker and Unified Remote but can't get it to work.
Basically, I've got an NFC tag outside my apartment, when I step in, I tag it, and that triggers a tasker profile which does a few tasks:
1) Switch off data
2) Switch on Wifi (and connect to home wifi)
3) Launch Airdroid on phone
4) Launch Chrome on PC and open Airdroid url (this doesn't work!)
5) Launch Foobar2000 on PC (this works)
6) Launch Foobar2000 android controller.
Everything works, except for launching the address in chrome. I can launch chrome just fine, but the url I've set doesn't open. How do I do this?

Also I'm going to build a website which will use that data where users can have an account and synchronize data with phone and website (I guess it's quite common setup). Site will be using MySQL database, but I want it to be database independent using some kind of API. I think I'm going to use Python for website (Django). Since I haven't started whole synchronization part yet I have a question on how to do it best. Which protocol to use - JSON, SOAP, XML (any other)? Which is best supported in android?

Requirements: The android to record video and transmitted through the socket means to save the file on the server (3gp file).
Question: 3gp files saved to the server, mobile player can't open, 3gp file encoding is not correct.
Note: stored in the phone's local system, 3gp files encoded in the correct format, mobile phone player to open.

I have a 60gig music collection and want to be able to play it smoothly on any of the computers or my Android. Of course I want to remote control the computers since most of them are headless (=without monitors) and until now I've remote desktop-ed them from the laptop. Oh and all the computers are Ubuntu installed. It turns out there are many different media players, even allowing DAAP or UDNP setup so that the media library is shared over my LAN, even to the Internet (subsonic). The best application I've found are Spottily and Groove shark, they're a beauty to use since the music is always available - but unfortunately they don't allow for any kind of remote control. So I thought; what if I could use some of the great media players for Android but just change the audio device they're playing on. Since Lucid Lynx actually brought an updated version of Pulse audio (the default audio device) which allows you to play music onto another computer on the network!

Well i take that back I have found countless guides on how to do it. tried many of them, didn't work, deleted everything, tried another , didn't work so now I am asking for help.I am trying to do screen captures using the SDK and eclipse and whatever else the guides say to download. Whenever i double click the ddms file a command box flashes up on the screen for a split second and thats it . Can't go any further if the commab box won't stay up. I think a windows window is supposed to pop up after that so I can choose my phone.
