Could any one please tell me whether Android is complaint with VCARD 2.1 specification?I could not see, fields like DOB (Date Of Birth , location etc.,) in Contacts Application as well Contact Provider.

I have two Android projects, a 'library project' containing a custom layout, and an 'application project' containing an application which uses the layout. Everything seems to build and execute fine, except that the visual layout editor throws a ClassNotFoundException (which I assume is a bug in the plug-in), but when I try to start to make use of the attributes I defined for the custom layout in the xml, the build fails. That is; this works:

The build fails with a message from aapt:
ERROR No resource identifier found for attribute
'layout_horizontalSpacing' in package 'se.fnord.android'
The resource identifier does exist in the R-file and attrs.xml contained the library project, and if I put the layout code and resources directly in the application project everything works fine. The layout_horizontalSpacing attribute (and layout_verticalSpacing) is a custom attribute used in the PredicateLayout.LayoutParam class to specify the distance to the next widget. So far I've tried the standard eclipse ways by specifying project references and build path project dependencies. I was also told to try the <uses-library> tag in the application manifest, which did not help.
So, what do I need to do for the references in the xml-file to work? I don't know if it's relevant, but the 'library' manifest looks like this:

using Droid the market search box will bring up previous search list and it drives me nuts that I can't click on one and EDIT it before it just launches.I would prefer it would put it in the box and wait for me to hit search button, giving me a chance to correct or expand on or otherwise edit the chosen previous search text.I really wish it would act like google on the computer where the results page has your search text in a box on the page allowing you to tweak it EASILY. It is hard enough to type on this thing and ANYTHING that would eliminate retyping would be GREAT.I don't see a topic for android suggestions for general improvement (as opposed to app suggestions), so I put this in here.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThere seems to be ALOT of issues with the LG Eve and/or Andrioid 1.5 - is anyone actually doing anything to correct these problems? Just after a quick scan of the forums there seem to be some ongoing, common issues occuring:
1. Outgoing mail service not availble to certain groups (incoming for others)
2. Erroneous Phone Strorage Full issue
3. screen freezing (black screen of death?)
As a Rogers customer and LG Eve owner, I think LG is responsible for the problems but Rogers is accountable! And it is a huge pain to have to keep returning a phone. I can't believe some of us are on our 3rd Eve!?! Don't get me wrong...I love this phone. But all the problems I am having with it, combined with the potential issues I may have (based on others complaints) makes me VERY worried.
I'm a new Hero user in Taiwan.I have encountered an issue with the Call History the phone provides.It only provides the date, followed by yesterday, 2 days ago etc. However, I need to know what time I made and received the calls. I know the information is embedded in the phone somewhere but I can't find it. For example: I receive a call say 3:30pm and I tell my caller I'll arrive in 20 minutes. These are all things that you should of known when buying the phone. No one forced you to buy it so please stop complaining about irrelevant issues. If you have a real problem post in the troubleshooting thread or return the phone. No one cares if your returning your phone. Not trying to rant but its getting ridiculous.

I got the desire sometime back, awesome phone, has everything one wants.
But I have not been able to send vcard from the phone, pls anyone help. Everytime I try to send it shows generic failure.
I have a HTC Desire When I recieve vcard's via sms text messages I open the message and touch the vcard, it says "the vcard has been imported successfully". When I go to my contacts list the supposed vcard entry does not show up in the list.

Did a fresh install on my LG Optimus s phone.. and now cant import any contacts.. Its not displaying in contacts.. But if i go to text someone.. I type the first 3 letters and the full name and number displays. Just not in the contacts.. I accidentally upgraded my rooted froyo phone to gingerbread and hated I did it. got to wait til i can root it again. SO now im back to basic.. Does hard reset even revert to stock flash? Or you have to get technical in doing it?

Then I tried to found an app on the market that does that - not ONE have i found. All of them either do the export in 2.1 format; or they backup on the cloud; or send the contacts by mail; or use proprietary format.I just want to backup my contacts with all the info on my sdcard and be able to restore them.
What's strange is that the stock import contacts knows how to read 3.0 vcards and that I was able to do this thing I'm looking so hard now on my ancient SGS1 running GB.
I am in a very much grief situation now.I brought it hardly a month back and got loud speaker not functioning after 3 weeks. Customer care people don't know how to repair.Have anybody of you got the same problem. Any possible solution with you?

I'm creating it by calling showDialog with the display's id. The onCreateDialog handler logs fine and I can step through it without an issue, but I've attached it since it seems like I'm missing something:

Is there something missing from this? Some questions have talked about having this problem when creating a dialog from onCreate, which happen because the activity isn't created yet, but this is coming from a call from a menu object, and the appContext variable seems like it is correctly populated in the debugger.
I'm writing an application which connects to a back office site. The backoffice site contains a whole slew of JavaScript functions, at least 100 times the average site. Unfortunately it does not load them, and causes much of the functionality to not work properly. So I am running a test. I put a page out on my server which loads the FireBugLite javascript text. Its a lot of javascript and perfect to test and see if the Android WebView will load it. The WebView loads nothing, but the browser loads the Firebug Icon. What on earth would make the difference, why can it run in the browser and not in my WebView? Any suggestions.
More background information, in order to get the stinking backoffice application available on a Droid (or any other platform except windows) I needed to trick the bakcoffice application to believe what's accessing the website is Internet Explorer. This is due to a Market bug which hides apps with bluetooth permissions from android 1.5 and 1.6.
Come on Google fix the market. We spend countless hours making are apps work on ALL android versions and now you do this...
This issue has been raised since June, but has only affected me since i made an update to the market yesterday.
