Android :: How To Obtain The Current Bitmap Of A Canvas
Nov 16, 2010I want to get the current bitmap associated with my canvas so I can perform operations on it. I can't see how to do this though.
I've seen some examples where you create a bitmap and set the canvas to use this bitmap, so obviously you can then access it later, but I'm using the canvas returned from a SurfaceHolder so there's no constructor.
For instance, examples often show this kind of thing:
CODE:...........
So at this point I can see bmp.
In my case, the canvas is obtained by:
CODE:......
So how can I get the bitmap for c?
In short, my aim is to capture the current canvas contents where I have drawn "stuff", and make a copy of it, reversed, to put underneath. Like a reflection. The example of this that I found performed it all via bitmaps, so I assumed I needed to somehow capture the current canvas to a bitmap to then use it.
HTC Incredible :: Can't Get Weather App To Show My True Current Area
May 18, 2010After going out of town this weekend where my Incredible switched my "current location" to where I was, upon returning home the Incredible still shows that I'm in the other location. I've tried updating and such. I've even tried rearranging the areas (towns/cities). I've tried to delete the towns/cities. It still says I'm in the other city and nothing changes in the "first place/home screen" after rearranging/deleting.

Aug 6, 2010I am about to build an app in Android that will act as a clock in card for employees on the road.
At teh start of a job the user will click a button that will record the GPS location and current time (thus verifying that he is where he should be at a given time) and again at the end of teh job he records the time and GPS location.
SO I reckon this will be easy enough, except that I cant find a way of pulling current location data, the nearest I can find is "onLocationChanged" which implies that I cannot get a stationary GPS read. I know it has to be possible to do this but cannot find a working example of how it would be achieved.

Oct 29, 2009Is there an app that displays the location (state and/or city area) of an area code of a call as it is received? i had a samsung blade (a900 or something) that would display the state of the area code right below the number as the call showed up, and that phone is like 4-5 years old so i know this can't be too hard to do...

Oct 20, 2010I'm trying to find out if the user is still within range of his own area code. Detecting roaming doesn't solve the problem since the user may still be in the same network with a different area code. I thought about getting the user's coarse location to find the city he's is in but this approach needs Internet access and might not be fast enough (this is done as the user is making a call and needs to finish before the call is made). Is there any way I can do this with just the info from the cellular network?

Nov 25, 2013I recently started using Google Hangouts instead of SMS (TextMessaging). The only issue I have is that the numbers I havent added any areacode to gets the areacode for Sweden (+46), and this is ONLY on Google Hangouts.
When I go back to the regular SMS app, the areacode is removed, and I can again send SMS without sending it to Sweden first.
I'm from Norway if it matters (+47). But the phone itself is imported from Sweden, but I'm using Norwegian as language. I checked my gmail. I have my country set to Norway.

Sep 16, 2010I am going crazy! Every time I try to text my wife's phone from my contacts, it removes the area code and errors out when trying to send. I have edited the contact info and sure enough it has the correct 10 digit number. I have tried deleting the her contact info and recreating it. No dice. I again deleted her contact info, went to her phone and sent a text to mine and replied. The incoming message has the correct 10 digit number. Replying again stripped the area code and tried to use the 7 digit number. Of course this failed.Any ideas? I need some help here. I am not sure if this is an issue with the phone or with AT&T.

I see others are having the same problem though.I have the Droid X I am using the messaging that the phone came with not an added app (I am on Verizon). When I try to reply to a text from my husband I get a message saying "unable to deliver. Please re-send with area code". He is in my address book with an area code and the callback number has the area code. But next to his name it does not have the area code (again, it is entered in my phone with an area code). I have tried to delete his phone number, text my phone with his phone, and reply, but that still does not work. It is so frustrating and weird. Even when I do not have him in the address book the call back number (shown as cb#) has the area code, but up higher when his name would be does not have the area code.

I have followed all of correct procedure but in with sp_flash tool sec boot i encounter this error : to download code area is forbidden on this phone
And with sp_flash tool CUST it says( brom error : s_brom_download_da_failed )
And when i run a memory test it says ERROR : NAND FLASH WAS NOT DETECTED
If i format my phone in sp flash tool will it work?
HTC EVO 4G :: Phone Using Wrong Are Code For Local Calls
Jul 13, 2010So kind of weird, but when I try and dial a 7 digit local phone number, the phone prepends it with an area code for Boston (I am in St. Louis).
Sprint was pretty helpless on the issue and I guess it did not help that the phone just started doing it without rhyme or reason.
Not a huge deal since I can dial the area code before hand, but obviously I am sure none of us like things going wrong with our precious Evo's.

May 22, 2010I am adding a local database as a cache to a remote web service in my android application to answer queries. I used ArrayAdapters before for list views to display the results from the web service. Now with a database cache, the result could be either a Cursor(from database) or a List(from web), which means the adapter can be CursorAdapter or ArrayAdapter too. Creating two adapters for one query doesn't seem to be a good idea. So I am wondering what would be the best way to refactor my current code to add this database feature?
