Android :: How To Avoid XML Verification Failed Error And Upgrading To 2.x SDK Successfully?
Mar 18, 2010
I have setup for Android development with 1.5 SDK on Mac O.S X - Eclipse 3.5. I want to upgrade the SDK, so as i followed to choose Window->Android SDK and AVD Manager from Eclipse. But it throws error as follows: XML verification failed forhttps://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/repository.xml.Error: cvc-elt.1: Cannot find the declaration of element 'sdk:sdk- repository'. Failed to fetch URL I tried "http" instead of https, but still getting the same error. I don't know why such crap error comes. If i see Android website, http://developer.android .com /intl/zh-CN/sdk/index.html its confusing.Could someone guide me easily to update Android SDK to 2.x or later without uninstalling my current setup environment.

I just bought a rooted Nexus One with a FRF83 build preinstalled. It's been working great but I keep getting messages about installing OTA updates but they always fail (says E: No signature (575 files) E: Verification Failed) I tried manually downloading the FRF85 and FRF91 update, copying as update.zip to my SD updating from the recovery menu but it still gives the same error. From the little info I've found online it may be an issue with the ROM but I can't tell for sure. My ultimate goal would be to go back to stock Android with the latest official Froyo build.

I have received the following error when trying to install packages through the SDK and AVD manager tool: XML verification failed for http://dl-ssl.google.com /android/repository/ repository.xml. Error: The markup declarations contained or pointed to by the document type declaration must be well-formed. I have downloaded the latest versions of the Android SDK and AVD manager (revision 5), Eclipse IDE for Java EE developers (version 1.2.2), and the ADT (0.9.6). I have checked the Force https box in the settings tab, I also have both an http and https version of the same url. I re-downloaded all components multiple times. I am using Windows XP service pack 3. Anything anyone could suggest would be extremely helpful. You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group. I'm having a problem with the LVL in one of my apps. Here are the projects in my eclipse workspace: com_android_vending_licensing - standard LVL my_app_1 my_app_2 my_app_3 All three of the apps use the same licensing library project (including the same SALT), and share the same code in their main activities for checking the license. But when testing, one of the apps continuously fails the license request and the others respond correctly depending on what test response I set in the market "Edit Profile" page. The error I get in logcat is: 08-04 15:20:20.863: ERROR/LicenseValidator(4883): Signature verification failed. And the dontAllow() function of the LicenseCheckerCallback is run. This error message originates from line 104 of LicenseValidator.java in the licensing library. I've done some debugging and the responseCode is set to LICENSED (see line 94 of LicenseValidator.java).

I am attempting to upgrade my ROM from the 1.7v. I dl'd the RUU file and did everything as required. However, when the bootloader tries to connect I get a prompt, "ERROR[171]:USB Connection ERROR". It asks me to make sure that the phone is connected to the USB cable and for the USB cable to be connected to the PC. Both are connected but I noticed that the phone is powered off. It will not power back on while connected. It will once I disconnect it from USB cable. This leads me to believe that the phone starts to do what it is supposed to but somehow disconnects.

No matter what I do, how slow or fast I hit enter for the adb push payload-update.zip /sdcard/update/zip my phone gives me the signature verification falied installation aborted message.I don't understand how some of you are saying that you can hit it "too fast" - it gives me this message in well under a second after I hit the power button to apply the sdcard.update.zip.Any ideas? I don't want to reboot my phone out of fear that I can't get back into recovery mode!

Got my droid rooted, installed rom manager, d/l a rom to the sd card- lfy. I booted in recovery from rom manager, and all I get is the screen with the triangle and exclamation point. Camera button + vol up gets me a menu, one of which is about the sd card, with the file name "update zip" (I re named the lfy file to this). When its selected, it runs through some lines of script, then says something like "aborted, signature verification failed" I then have it re boot, and my phone is the same as it was before.I have read posts that say wipe, others say don't wipe! Since in a first timer, I decided to wipe, and if I'm remembering right, when you select wipe, there are three options, I did the first, the factory reset one, but did not do the other two, can't remember what they were called exactly, but had not read anything that specifically said to wipe them, so for fear of really messing something up, I left those alone. In reading more, it sounds like clockwork mod recovery is not working? I guess I'm getting the stock recovery screen? Since I renamed the file update.zip, shouldn't this work? I know this has all probably been answered, and I searched, but came up with a bunch of threads on other phone species too. Obviously I'm a noob at this, and there have been more sweaty palms and adrenaline rushes for fear of killing my droid than I have experienced in a long time! Does someone have a solution to this that even I can understand?

I found the WhatsApp failed to work (SMS verification fail) some custom ROMs like below :
[URL]...
[URL]...
[URL]...
and mush more I tested...
"Call me" also does not works as they said voice verification failed too many time.
Can we conclude that : If you like custom ROM, switch to other software like LINE or KakaoTalk ... ? Without XDA, we cannot have ICS or Jelly bean on our old device like Galaxy S or Nexus One.

I've been struggling to get my Nexus One up and running with the Sense UI. I unlocked the bootloader and rooted it (it all worked as far as I can tell) but whenever I try and flash a new ROM onto the phone I get the error E: no signature E: verification failed I have tried many different ROMs from Cyanogen mod and just a standard Nexus One ROM, but I've had no luck in getting this to work. Plus, when I just return to the original state, my WiFi is out of commission and as an AT&T subscriber (I have two lines so it's not the end of the world), I rely heavily on WiFi for my nexus.

I'm trying to update from Villian 5.3 to 10.2. But keep getting E:corrupt file messages and E:verification failed. I followed the tutorial that's how I was able to do 5.3, but don't matter. How many times I download it 10.2 just keeps coming up with the same message when I try to flash it, usual the file it claims is corrupted is different for different downloads, never had this before with any flashing I've done.

I'm on 4.2.2 at the moment. The phone is rooted. CWM v6.0.4.4
Every now and then the phone reminds me to install the update. When I attempt, I just get:
E: Invalid command argument
Finding...
Opening...
Verifying...
E: Failed to verify whole-file signature
E: Signature verification failed
Even if I press 'Yes - install untrusted zip', I just get a few messages that I can't read, and then "Installation aborted" and phone restarts.
I did some googling and the only thing I found was something about it being unable due to the phone being rooted. And to manually update with signature verification off, but then it didn't really explain how to go about that.If possible I'd like to get it to work without having to change too much.

Everything works fine but when I try to reboot into the recovery using Rom Manager, it reboots and tries to install an update.zip file and then it fails with a message of "signature verification failed". I can't install any other update.zip file either. I'd like to have the clockwork recovery back.

I had a stock Captivate with Eclair J6. I rooted and installed Rom Manager with ClockWork Recovery. I made a backup of my current ROM.I then installed the Cognition Froyo Beta. I decided I wanted to roll back to my backup ROM but whenever I reboot into Recovery, I no longer get any option of installing a ROM, update.zip, etc. All I get is a shortened menu that says "reboot, clear cache, wipe user data, wipe internal SD card". I also get an error that says signature verification failed.I tried reflashing the recovery area with a new clockwork update but I get the same result when rebooting into recovery. How can I restore my recovery area to a working state with the normal options?

I'm trying to integrate the LVL to my app, and I followed the 'Licensing Your Applications' document [1].
For some reason I'm receiving the ERROR_NOT_MARKET_MANAGED error, although my app (package: org.jraf.android.logcatlivewallpaper) is indeed available in the Market.
I suppose I made a mistake is on my side but all I did is follow the document (I used the ServerManagedPolicy and the AESObfuscator), so I don't see what I could have done wrong.

When I run the upgrade it says it is Verifying the Information on my Phone.....then says it is not connected. Can anyone suggest a reason for this as I really want to update to 2.1.

I'm trying to get the android SDK set up on my computer, but every time I start the SDK and AVD manager and try to connect to the repositroy, I get this error:
Failed to fetch URL https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/repository.xml, reason: Connection timed out: connect
I have no HTTP proxy, and I have also tried checking the box "Force https://... sources to be fetched using http://...", but that doesn't work either.
When I go to https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/repository.xml via firefox, I can see the xml file, however it takes a minute or two to load, making me wonder if the sdk's timeout is too short for it to actually connect to the server??
I am on windows 7 Professional, 4GB ram, AMD Turion x2 ultra processor, Java details:
java version "1.6.0_17" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_17-b04) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 14.3-b01, mixed mode, sharing)
And I downloaded the android-sdk_r04-windows sdk...
I've searched the web, and the only simmilar problem I can find is this link: http://www.mail-archive.com/android-beginners@googlegroups.com/msg168..

I was trying to upgrade from Android 2.1 to 2.2 with the following guide
Droid Den - Phone Guide: How To Install Rooted Android 2.2 On Your HTC Desire - Droid Den
Once the phone was done flashing DeFrost, with ROM manager, I restarted it. However, the phone will not boot. When powered on, all I can see if the green HTC logo against a white background.
What do i do now?
Update:
I managed to got past the HTC Logo screen where it would show a Red/Green/Yellow/Blue X and then boot into Android 2.2. I did this by clearing the storage data in the bootloader and restarting.
I would have no phone reception and is unable to get wifi connection. and would get an error message saying Process system is not responding at start up. Further, the phone keeps restarting by itself.
Also, SD card not detected and i would get horizontal line noise on the screen.
