I have one Map on my main activity and It works fine. Recently I added another small map view on one of my sub activities using the same google map key. Now when I press back after looking at the map on sub activity, it returns to the main view and bottom of the map on main activity turns black. See the attached image. Is there anyone who has faced this problem and know why sometimes bottom of map turns balck?

I've seen some chatter about this, but nothing definite. Is there a way to put the tabs in a TabWidget to the bottom of the screen? If so, how?
I've tried the following, but didn't work:
a) setting the tabwidget below the framelayout
b) setting the tabwidget's gravity to "bottom"

I am working on tabactivity.
I wanna show my tabwidget below the tabcontent(framelayout).
I done it by setting the tabwiget tab attribute as android:gravity="bottom"
But the framelayout cant align with those tabs.
That is the tabs are shown at the bottom of the screen and overlap the framelayout
How to do that? if set some height value to the framelayout it not optimized for all screens of android.

I really like my Evo but I find that some apps have banner adds at the bottom. The apps that do this include Astro, Stocks, Currency, Advanced Task manager Pro, AppBrain. The adds have written: "Adds by AdMob". How did I get these or is this normal? The adds really bother me, especially the religious ones.

Trying to replicate the behavior of ItemizedOverlay.boundCenterBottom(), inside of one of my Overlay classes. I am fairly certain that I can do this using setBounds(), but I am utterly lost as to what setBounds() is actually doing.

I am displaying some data in a ScrollView. On activity startup (method onCreate) I fill the ScrollView with data and want to scroll to the bottom. I tried to use:
getScrollView().fullScroll(ScrollView.FOCUS_DOWN).
This works when I make it as an action on button click but it doesn't work in the onCreate method. Is there any way how to scroll the ScrollView to the bottom on activity startup? That means the view is already scrolled to the bottom when first time displayed.

I've created this set of 4 Tabs named "HOme" "COTD" "Uvtv" and "feeds" for part of the UI of my application. I now need to create a set of sub-tabs for the COTD tab, and they need to be at the bottom of the screen.
I have 8 java classes, 4 that are the tabs, 3 that are supposed to be the Subtabs for COTD, and 1 which is the main class that retrieves and displays the tabs shapes and such
My main file extend to TabActivity and Implements OnTabChangeListener,
CODE:..............
I though that maybe extending the COTD class to TabActivity would've done it, but once I ran it and clicked on the tab it would automatically shut down.
Is there any way to create, as I would say "Sub"-tabs on the COTD file? am I supposed to create another main file for the COTD tab?

I am trying to port an existing iPhone application to android. I wish to have a button scroll into view at the bottom of a GridView to enable the user to load more data from the server. Presently, my solution simply fixes a button at the bottom of the screen instead of having it scroll into view.
Here is my layout code:
<LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android
android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:orientation="vertical" >
<GridView xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/grid"
android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:columnWidth="70dp" android:numColumns="auto_fit" android:verticalSpacing="0dp" android:horizontalSpacing="0dp" android:stretchMode="columnWidth" android:gravity="center" android:background="#000000" />
<Button android:id="@+id/load_more" android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Load More" /> </LinearLayout>
Fixing the button at the bottom of the screen won't work because I plan on placing an ad at the bottom. Can anyone either explain conceptually how to get a load more button to scroll into view, or point me to some sample code, OR tell me why this is not idiomatic to Android and what other UI convention it uses to load more data in a GridView?

What this looks like is on the left and what I want it to look like is on the right. The obvious answer is to set the TextView to fill_parent on height but this causes no room to be left for the button or entry field. Essentially the issue is that I want the submit button and the text entry to be a fixed height at the bottom and the text view to fill the rest of the space, similarly in the horizontal Linear layout I want the submit button to wrap its content and for the text entry to fill the rest of the space. If the first item in a Linear Layout is told to fill_parent it does exactly that, leaving no room for other items, how do I get an item which is first in a linear layout to fill all space apart from the minimum required by the rest of the items in the layout?
