I use Yahoo Webmessanger in my phone but I need to be able to save my IM conversation and email (for legal purposes). I know the Blackberry can go it. Does anyone know if the Google phone can?

After looking through this site and others, it seems that there are a ton of great apps that support AIM and FB (eBuddy comes to mind), but none that support those two and Skype. So, does anyone know of an app that does this?

I've created a login page that has a predefined username as password within it, however i wish to implement a system that checks the login name and password to a database. I have a Motorola Moto G 8GB which is running very low on storage (only about 800mb left). This phone does not take Micro SD cards but it comes with 50GB Google Drive storage. However i haven't used this at all. I am wondering whether i could download android apps and games to google drive, dropbox etc. Games like Real Racing take up about 1GB so i cannot download it to my phone. Can i download it to the Cloud? If this is not possible, is there any way that i could save the app data on the cloud. E.g. The Simpsons: Tapped Out is about 37mb to download off the play store, but then you must download the updates etc which are about another 250mb. is there anyway to save this 250mb on the cloud. Or any other games data.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo for the last week me and a couple others have been looking for a group chat app. By this i mean an app that will allow us to create a group that will stay open whether we are logged in or not and also one that does not require members to be invited, rather one that can be named and then have people search for it. We are not looking for an IM like MSN that allows you to temporarily add your friends to a group chat but instead acts more like a private chat room? Theres an app that we are using just now called Cnected but its really really basic, just that bit too basic, cant even see who is involved in the chat.Basically an app like this but with a list of people in the chat and a pm option. Preferably one that logs the chat even if your not signed in would be good but not essential.Also needs to be free. Ive looked at jabber clients and IRC but the group of people are not computer savvy enough to set them up correctly.I just cant believe that out of all the chat apps there are out there, even the big ones like msn yahoo and AIM, not a single one allows you to create a permanent group thats always open and can be searched for.

View 2 Replies View RelatedJust wondering if anyone else has come across this, my friend rang me the other day and asked why i was always logged in to fb chat 24 hours a day, dont be silly i said im not, he said you are now!!
I was using nimbuzz and have found out that if i have fb chat set to offline when i go in to nimbuzz it turns it on (as it should) but when i log out it keeps me showing as online on the main facebook website!!
The only way i can get it to stop doing this is to log out of nimbuzz and then log in to the main fb site and set chat to offline (a real pain!)
Does anyone use an app that lets you log out and keeps you logged out?
i have also tried palringo and Go!chat and they all do the same!
I dont want people chatting to me and thinking im ignoring them!

View 6 Replies View RelatedHTC Hero here. Being the lazypuss I am I haven't tried to use a lot of outside apps yet but I wanted to use instant messenger so I launched the onboard app, IM (version 7).
Can't say I am happy with my experience of this piece of crap at all. It doesn't support multiple aim logins or Facebook... but I could live with that. What ticked me off is when I signed in and then signed out - it stayed signed in. I was out of town for the weekend! This means somewhere something was getting my messages for two days and nights even though I "signed out." I don't know who tried to contact me and I don't like that it doesn't do what you tell it to do. It also has the nerve to actually magically launch itself now that I've used it once.
If I root my phone - this will be one of the reasons why... So I can delete this sketchy crapware off my phone and out of my life forever. I looked in the manage apps and can't see who makes this thing either but I loath it very very much.
I have successfully installed the Openfire XMPP server and built an Android app to text chat,how can I implement VOIP functionality to my application?Can this be done by connecting openfire with a SIP server?Can someone guide me?

Came from a Blackberry Curve 8530 and I'm definitely happier, with one exception; I can't figure out how to chat with my Blackberry Messenger contacts. Now, I've been looking for an app that will chat with IMs (INCLUDING BBM) but have had no such luck. The thing is I was using BBM and a friend who had a Droid was IMing me on my BBM. Clearly there is a way to IM people using BBM from an Android messaging app, but I can't figure out what app she was using! She's really vague about it now that I have a Hero, she says "Umm the guy at Verizon set it up for me and I can't remember what it's called, unitext or unimessage or something. The icon is a fiery smiley face." Does this ring any bells for anyone here?

I liked to use it for private chats with some friends rather than posting on the facebook thingy - dont want every one to know
The Andriod App doesn't seem to do this or have I just missed it?
If I haven't missed it and I am correct - anyone know why such a key feature would be on the iPhone App and not the Andriod App (doesn't seem fair)
Will we see it any time soon - as I don't fancy using another software App to do something the iPhone users can

The app and code works just fine when I try to login to the gmail xmpp instant messaging server. However I cant get myself to login to the facebook chat server.
I used this: [url] in my configuration so:
facebook chat server: chat.facebook.com port: 5222 service: chat.facebook.com I'm not entirely sure about this so I have tried without the service parameter: ConnectionConfiguration connConfig = new ConnectionConfiguration(host, Integer.parseInt(port)); username: I have tried both: <my fb username> and <my fb username>@chat.facebook.com password: <my fb password>
I have noticed the request for no ssl so just in case I added to the code: connConfig.setSASLAuthenticationEnabled(false);
Is there such thing as a live facebook chat app yet? FBabble is in the android market place online but when you search for it in the market place on your phone its not there..

So I looked around and found eBuddy, which I LOVE. Never seems to drop. However, in the last few days, I cannot get into Facebook chat. No problems with AIM or Yahoo, but I cannot connect to Facebook chat. I tried a few other apps, like Bloo and Go Talk, with the same problem with Facebook.

please respect hes work and show support if you want "bloo" to survive.

By the way he has release a "Preview" of the new Bloo 1.5 With Facebook Chat. (REMEMBER IS NOT THE OFFICIAL RELEASE) everything seems to be working fine for me. but there should be some bugs.
The only way to download this app is either by downloading "ASTRO" on the market. and download it straight from your SD Card
