<LinearLayout><TextView text:"this is the first page" /></LinearLayout>
<LinearLayout><TextView text:"this is the second page" /></LinearLayout>
<LinearLayout><TextView text:"this is the third page" /></LinearLayout>

I have a little problem. I have class
CODE:..............
When I do that, method convertView.setBackgroundColor(Color.RED) work great, what I need Image is there:
dl.dropbox.com/u/866867/stack/device2.png
But when I want to remove that item, I can't do it. I add there convertView.setVisibility(View.GONE); , but have empty item, beside hide it. I read that parameter View.INVISIBLE won't hide layout, but View.GONE have, but in my code, doesn't.
And that image: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/866867/stack/device.png

One of the best features IMO of Home++ was not having the task bar visible at top of screen. I really liked just having the scrolling toolbar at bottom. Recently the task bar at top has shown back up. Anyone else experiencing this? Was this part of a recent update that I didn't pay attention to until just now?
I still really like Home++, even with that bar, just prefer not to have it.

All of a sudden my girlfriend's Nexus One is rebooting somehow. She fires up her phone, it boots just fine, after a few seconds when everything is loaded, u can scroll thru the menus etc, it seems to reboot, but real fast, the animation comes up, and 2sec later the home screen is visible again. It keeps doing this.
Any ideas? The phone is not rooted, no custom rom, just a few regular apps form the market installed, nothing fancy.

I am trying to set up a ViewFlipper that changes a SlidingDrawers content each time a button is pressed. So far every view I set up worked fine, but now I am trying to create a ListView (including single_choice_mode) within a child view of the ViewFlipper, but my attempt only let to a NullPointerException. As I only discovered ViewFlipper today, I am not yet familiar with it and may not have understood it completely. if someone could give me a hand and help me find out what I have done wrong, that would be great. Here is what I have done:
The code for the onClick event of the ImageButtons:
public void onClick(View v){
if (v == btnExposure){
mFlipper.setDisplayedChild(0); }
else if (v == btnProperties){
mFlipper.setDisplayedChild(1);}
else if (v == btnSpecialEffects){
mFlipper.setDisplayedChild(2);.............

I have a simple ListView and on that ListView I have placed a number of custom defined Views. The CustomView has ImageView and two TextViews.
The CustomView also has a "stateful drawable" as background, so that the background image (a 9-patch) changes if you press the Row in the ListView. When pressing the Row, the background image changes to a Red-ish thing.
The problem is that when the background changes from the default greyish, all the Views in the CustomView (ImageView and TextViews) still have their greyish background and thus creates very ugly greay boxes on top of the now redish background.
What is the best way to solve that problem? I hoped that such things were handled automatically (as it is done in for example .NET), but I was wrong it seems.

I have a WebView inside the ScrollView. The content of WebView dyanamically changes when it displays different html page. I have the following issue: For example I have A.html, and B.html. The content of B.html is larger than A.html, so the page is longer. When WebView load B.html, the ScrollView stretches its size to enable itself scroll for B.html, then if I go back to A.html, ScrollView doesn't resize itself. (The scroll area is exceed the content of A.html) What I want to have, is dynamic change the scroll area of scroll view to fit the webview's content.

I have a HorizontalScrollView with a series of CompoundButtons. I want to find the (x,y) for a given child view. I have tried using:
getLocationOnScreen()
getLocalVisibleRect()
getChildVisibleRect()
like this:
View tmpView = this.findViewById(viewId);
Rect hitRect = new Rect();
tmpView.getLocalVisibleRect(hitRect);
the hitRect is always 0,0 - 0,0.
I need the x,y mainly to scroll to a particular child view. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am trying to populate a ViewFlipper with a ListView when a certain button is clicked...but I only get a NullPointerException for lv.setAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(this, R.layout.specialeffectsview, specialEffects)); To be honest I don't really know how to do this, I just learned about the ViewFlipper today and I haven't fully understood how to use it yet. If anyone could help me find how what I have done wrong, that would be great.
Here is the code I use:
public void onClick(View v){ if (v == btnExposure){
mFlipper.setDisplayedChild(0);
else if (v == btnProperties){ mFlipper.setDisplayedChild(1); }
else if (v == btnSpecialEffects){ mFlipper.setDisplayedChild(2); String[] specialEffects = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.special_effects_array); lv.setAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(this, R.layout.specialeffectsview, specialEffects)); lv.setChoiceMode(ListView.CHOICE_MODE_SINGLE); }

I am writing a home screen widget. Is it possible to add a View, e.g. ImageView, to a home screen widget through RemoteViews? I want to generate the views for the home screen widget dynamically.
updateViews = new RemoteViews(context.getPackageName(), R.layout.widget_news);
updateViews.setTextViewText(R.id.widget_title, mTitle);
updateViews.setImageViewBitmap(R.id.widget_picture,
BitmapFactory.decodeByteArray(image, 0, image.length));
My code is like above. But we I call updateViews.addView(aView), my IDE didn't allow me to do that and give me an compile error.

I'm trying to create a custom widget which looks lick HTML table. I chose to derive from TableLayout, which is the subclass of ViewGroup and View. What's confusing me is that the drawing I put into my override of View.onDraw did not take effect, until I moved the codes to the override of ViewGroup.dispatchDraw. I know dispatchDraw is a good place to draw something, but I'm just wondering why there's such difference in my practice?

I have created a child class from the Gallery view, named MyGallery. I did this because I wanted to get rid of the onFling event in the gallery view. Having that achieved, it lead me to a different problem. Scrolling the Gallery with the Dpad doesn't work now. When I tried using the original Gallery class, the dpad works fine. But when I extend the Gallery and use my custom gallery class, the dpad stops working. Am I missing something?

I'm using GLSurfaceView to create a simple OpenGL drawing application. Since the elements drawn in each frame must remain on screen in order to be composed into the whole drawing, I don't use gl.glClear(GL10.GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT) at the beginning of each frame. But not clearing the color buffer leads to substantial flickering. Is there any way to eliminate flickering while still not clearing the screen at the beginning of each frame?

What's the best way to check if the view is visible on the window?
I have a CustomView which is part of my SDK and anybody can add CustomView to their layouts. My CustomView is taking some actions when it is visible to the user periodically. So if view becomes invisible to the user then it needs to stop the timer and when it becomes visible again it should restart its course.
But unfortunately there is no certain way of checking if my CustomView becomes visible or invisible to the user. There are few things that I can check and listen to: onVisibilityChange, it is for view's visibility change, and is introduced in new API 8 version so has backward compatibility issue onWindowVisibilityChange, but my CustomView can be part of a ViewFlipper's Views so it can pose issues onDetachedFromWindows, this not as useful onWindowFocusChanged //Again my CustomView can be part of ViewFlipper's views. So if anybody has faced this kind of issues please throw some light.

The documentation at http://code.google.com/android/reference/android/widget/AbsoluteLayout.html says:
onLayout(boolean changed, int l, int t, int r, int b) //Called from layout when this view should assign a size and position to each of its children. So I overrode it like this:
@Override
protected void onLayout(boolean changed, int l, int t, int r, int b) {
Log.d("test", "In MainLayout.onLayout");
int childCount = getChildCount();
for (int childIndex = 0; childIndex < childCount; childIndex++) {
getChildAt(childIndex).setLayoutParams(new LayoutParams(100, 100, 100, 100));
}
super.onLayout(changed, l, t, r, b);
}
I am declaring the child elements (buttons) in the XML for the layout. This correctly sets the position of the buttons but not the size. The size is being taken from what is defined in the XML (it's a required attribute).
