I recently bought a galaxy s, and this is my first android experience. I'm wondering if any of you are using mac with this phone and make them communicate well? I need to enable debug mode to make it appear on the mac.
And is it possible to wirelessly sync the phone with the mac/pc with a program? Many people say that android is better than iPhone because of this.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm experimenting with SIP/VOIP on my Android device (Galaxy Nexus). I'm using the SIP account settings in the stock dialer app, this works fine for dialing/voice.
The issue is there are no similar SIP settings for the stock SMS client... is this simply a feature that was not added for some reason? is there a technical reason why this is not possible? (other third party clients support it) or can the stock SMS client use SIP and I just can't figure it out?
I tried everything to add arabic support to a Galaxy Ace Plus GT-S7500, note that arabic works and the letters are arranged in the correct order, they are just not connected.
What i tried,
1) replace the font, the font changed but still the same problem
2) attempt to replace framework folder of an arabic supported stock , an Egyptian Version, it should have arabic support, using the same method as installing a custom rom, using a CWM and a zip with a script to extract those files to the correct location, but i got bootloops.
3) I tried to replace the entire system folder with system folder of the Egyptian Stock ROM, same problem, bootloops.
4) Finally i tried to replace system.img.ext4 from stock firmware with the Egyptian system.img.ext4 and install it through odin3, but it would complete.
And now im out of options, unfortunately this phone has no dedicated forum i could find nor many custom roms, not that i want them as this isn't my phone and i'd like to keep it the same as it as.
I've purchased Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9003 (Android 2.2) in the month of Dec'11, but due to certain reasons I could started using the phone for last two months.
I've tried more than 10 call recorders for my phone, but it didn't work. I found an application on Google Play which says "the application might not work with Samsung GT-I9003 due to lack of support". any working call recorder for my mobile? keeping in view the point that I'm new to android.
I'm trying to compile CM10.2 for my Galaxy i5800, i downloaded the source code from androidarmv6 and the appropriate device folder with prebuilt kernel. After starting "make" everything seemed to be fine but when it started to compile EGL this error appeared:

I'm trying to build a app that uses the SmsMessage class but there are two versions depending on the API level of the device:
android.telephony.gsm.SmsMessage (deprecated for 1.6 and above)
android.telephony.SmsMessage (the new class for 1.6 and up)
I want to target 1.5 and yet have the newer class (android.telephony.SmsMessage) run on devices with 1.6 or higher. How do I do this?

I need this information in order to adapt some call to the sim card. If the sim card support only 2G network, an APDU will be call, then if the usim card is 3G another APDU will be called instead.

I send WAP push message to handsets yet have been testing the android handsets yet they are not recieving them. All versions of Android are affected. Other devices platforms dont have any issues "WinMo, Symbiam list goes on" Wierd thing I have tested it on a an HTC running Android with Sense UI and messages are received. What I would like to know if possible is anything happening to these messages or Could the device be intercepting it and trying to interprt in another applicatiuon? Could the device be recieving these messages yet not know what to do with them discard them? I have tried the dirreferent versions of WAP yet none work. Is there a module inside android not turned on. How would I request a change for android "if thats even possible"

When I touch the screen there seems to be some kind of response as the focus disappears, but I cant press anything on the screen. I get touch events when using "getevent".

The current situation is that people need to root their phones to get it which is simply a ridiculous situation. This issues has been left unattended for a very long time and all that's really needed is to replace the system fonts with fonts that support hebrew. This has been done by Samsung on the Samsung Galaxy and has been proven as working and did not change the font of the system when viewing English. My question is, why is it that Google can't take the time to integrate a change that already exists in a branch of the OS into the trunk and thereby allowing many other people to enjoy the OS? This affects not only Hebrew, but Arabic and many other languages, what's the point of an open source OS if the project progresses so slowly?

So the question is: Is there any stack for RTP? does the new SDK support this? Does anyone know whether the G1 device is capable of supporting OpenGL ES 1.1? Is this something that depends on both the graphics chip and the OS, or is it purely software? If Android/the G1 only supports OpenGL ES 1.0, are there any pieces of the 1.1 spec that are supported?
