I tried to retrieve user's gmail address on Android phone using AccountManager.get(this).getAccounts(), but got force close when running the code in emulator (platform 2.2, API level 8) and Motorola Droid handset. Do I need any user-permission in manifest file? what else I might be missing?

The ApplicationManager is killing the process of my application when the user presses on "FORCE STOP" on the Aplication Manager.According to the documentation a broadcast action is.The user has restarted a package, and all of its processes have been killed. All runtime state associated with it (processes, alarms, notifications, etc) should be removed. *Note that the restarted package does not receive this broadcast.* The data contains the name of the package.How can I listen that action in my application; I have tried creating a BroadcastReceiver on my package, but the onReceive() is not called.

View 6 Replies View RelatedThis is my first post but have been reading the forum since I got my desire 3 weeks ago.... love it so far, but I have just come across a problem, When I go into settings followed by "manage applications" I get an error that a process has failed, and then I can only quit using the force close button. I have tried restarting the phone and no new apps have been put on recently. Does anyone know what I can do to be able use the app manager again?
View 12 Replies View RelatedSince I've been using the cm 10 and 10.1 based roms (4.1.x and 4.2.x, respectively) I've noticed the DSP Manager or Awesome beats audio effects randomly stop effecting the sound. It was noted here:

That pausing and playing the audio player will re-enable the EQ effects. I normally use Google Music on the HTC Rezound running a variant of CM10.1 (4.2.2) but others have stated other devices and are doing this as well.
I just played with it by force closing the DSP manager process while listening to music. This did not in and of itself stop the EQ effects. Once I reopened the DSP manager app and again stop/start or pause played the effect was re enabled. Simply restarting the DSP manager app did not re enable the effect.
How to fix the MMS issue with MIUI V5 on the HTC One XL(AT&T version). I noticed that the One S has a fix, however I can't figure out what they are saying about replacing the framework files and what not. If your not familiar with the issue, trying to send/receive MMS causes the messaging app to force close.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that whenever I introduce some new awful bug to my app and it crashes, Android just keeps starting it up over and over again. I eventually have to hit the dial button on the phone just to make my app lose focus. I searched this group's posts and the developer documents.I can't find anything about this. Is this usual behavior? If so, is there some way to disable it? Maybe it's just my coming from a desktop background, but I kind of think that when something is closed, it should stay closed, especially if the reason it was closed was that it crashed. And of course, I hope my final app never force closes, but with all the different hardware you never know.

I installed helix launcher home app, it was working fine. I adjusted how many screens it has down to 1 and now the phone constantly forceloses since its the home app, and I cannot get to other screens. I've managed to show existing user in a textview. But it can only show one at a time so I decided to use listview.

When I updated to XXII5 I can turn on 3G, but GPRS is dead, both on 2G and 3G (the same error occurs). Internet access point is disabled in Quick Settings, when i turn it on the error occurs. On XXIFF I could turn on GPRS on 2G and it worked, however on that firmware the phone sometimes turned itself off and couldn't be turned on without removing the battery first.

Essentially it is supposed to call zxing Barcode Scanner to scan a barcode on a button click and return the result into an EditText field.
