View 1 Replies View RelatedMy program is targeting Android 1.5. I would like to retrieve system information about the device itself. I have found very few helpful classes by searching the APIs. the best I've found so far is the Runtime class and a few Build.* system properties.
I would like to be able to get information like the total amount of memory on the device, the amount of free memory (which I do not know if the Runtime class is actually giving me, since it specifically refers to memory available to the JVM) along with information about the processor.
Is this information available, and if so, where can I find it?
I can't seem to find any options to retrieve apps on my SDK's virtual Android device. Can you direct me to where I may find apps so that I can test them out?

Anyway, I've been without a working device for a week now as I wait for my DX to arrive. I just check voice mail a couple times a day to make sure I'm not missing anything important. On the other hand, I have to imagine I have a serious back log of texts. A buddy of mine said he thought the DX (which my wife currently has) could be configured to retrieve texts from more than one account (phone number). Is that possible? Is there any other way to retrieve text messages other than with an activated device?

There are a lot of clipboard managers around, but I found none open source, and it's difficult to believe they work by checking the clipboard every 15 seconds.
Is there a good method to observe clipboard changes?
Is there a way to paste a phone number from clipboard into the dialer? Seems mad that I cant do that, so I have to copy the number down with pen and paper just to dial it back in.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi was quite happy with the stock message app until i tried chomp and handcent but i have a problem with both of them that i cant seem to solve.when i recieve a joke i like to send them on to a group, which i have saved as "joke" in groups so i long press the joke and press forward , then groups , then joke.this then shows all my contacts i wish to send the joke to along with the joke.now , here is my problem on the the stock app i can delete a contact by pressing on the contacts at the top and pressing the name i want to delete therefore it wont be sent to a person who may have sent it to me but on handcent and chomp i cant seem to do this.

I have an onListItemClick method in my ListActivity which captures and properly identifies the item selected in my ListView. What I am trying to do is change the text color or font of the item that is selected in the method, onListItemClick(ListView l, View v, int position, long id). Is there a way to access and change the text font and color using the ListView or View object from this method? I traversed the methods of each class and can't seem to find one that allows for that functionality.
