I was unable to install Maps.apk into emulator cupcake. I've tried 2 method, both are failure. 1. adb install Maps.apk --> [INSTALL_FAILED_MISSING_SHARED_LIBRARY] 2. Copy Maps.apk to /system/app/, com.google.android.maps.jar to / system/framework/, com.google.android.maps.xml to /etc/permissions/ Map application is still invisible, can anyone help me how to accomplish this issue. Or there's other security issue?

I'm migrating my app from 1.1 to 1.5. It works right but i get a problem thowing a new intent which used to open a Geo URI in google Maps. I think that it must be related with the fact of Gmaps not beign included as part of the core. Is there any way to solve it or change it if i want to keep the track of 1.1? I tried modding some APK to make the app able to be multi view (tutorial : URL... ), I succeed modding 8tracks.apk, musicxmatch.apk but then when I tried to do it to LINE (NAVER) and installed it, it said "app was not installed".
It is a system tool while building the apk, and it still doesn't work.why some people said to not sign a system tool apk? while from what i've read, android cannot install an unsigned apk. mod the NAVER/LINE Games to stop checking if i am a rooted device?
I just got my first Android phone (HTC Desire) a couple of days ago after using a Nokia 5800 for about a year. The only feature I really miss so far is having my maps installed on the Micro SD card so I don't have to use the network in maps.

Logcat says: at.tomtasche.altitude requires unavailable shared library com.google.android.maps; failing! I developed an app with google maps before and there it works fine. And yes i have the uses-library android:name="com.google.android.maps" in the application tag of my manifest. It also works in the emulator, just my device dont install it.
I got an update notification and it downloads but will not install.Any ideas.

I do have the maps app on my system however, but in the market it says its not installed. As of now im fine with it not being installed but when there is an update there might be a problem. I tried yesterday and got an error that I think said something about a problem w/ the service pack.I tried probably 5x last night to install it from the market but didn't have any luck. Today I tried twice and again I get an installation error, however it doesn't say what the error is specifically.It takes about 4 minutes to download then when it gets to installation it says "installation unsuccessful"

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Sygic Mobile Maps 10 on my N1 and now got if for my girlfriend's i7500. It installed fine but when I start it up and try to activate a map, the screen where it should show the device id is just empty (it shows a -). If I go to the About screen, it also doesn't show a device id. I contacted Sygic already but they don't know anything about the i7500 and Google doesn't really help either. My current guess is that it doesn't work with the internal memory card as the device id is apparently generated based on the sd card's serial number (Sygic used to distribute the software pre-installed on a sd card). So maybe the software can't recognise the serial number of the internal card and hence can't generate a device id...but that's just my guess. I just want to avoid wasting money to buy a microsd to install it on there if it turns out that the app is just not working with the i7500 for other reasons...

It was working before the upgrade, e.g. by using the VideoView class and providing an RTSP URL. But the same test which was working before fails now. The RTSP OPTIONS and DESCRIBES exchanges are OK, and then there is a "PVMFFailure" in the Log, and a popup saying "Sorry, this Video can't be played".(Note: I removed a similar message that I sent yesterday because it contained broken links)

But i'm not getting success doing this. He predicted the OTA release, and that was right, but he has also said T- mobile will be releasing the cupcake to t-mobile customers in uk end of March. Of course all i/we can do is wait. if anyone has any information to back that claim it would be appreciated. I know there's loads of cupcake talk that has been going on for months. but i believe this is the real thing, else he wouldn't jeapordise these claims to get people to buy the G1 and then get hundreds of complaints if it didnt happen
