I have a linear layout which has 5 text views. Suppose user click on 3rd text view. I want to expand this 3rd text view on the entire screen i.e. i want to show this 3rd text view as a full screen in the same activity above the other text views. Is it possible in Android ?

I am rendering a ListView inside a dialog. The ListView elements are very simple TextView objects. The problem: whatever I do, they never take the full width in the list view, which has the side effect that the list view selector only covers the actual text, not the whole list entry (i.o.w., if the text of the entry is much smaller than the width of the listview/dialog, then only a tiny portion of the list element is highlighted when focusing it).

I have a layout like this above textview and an image that slides down after clicking the text view. I have looked at translate animation but the issue is I want the image to start from the bottom of text view and gradually get into its full view. Translate animation doesn't let me start from behind the textview so that it can appear slowly and coming out at the bottom of text view and expanding to its fullview. I have linear layout now with textview and imageview.
By default, there are only 3 screens for google g1. but i know some applications can expand them to 5 - 7 screens.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to resize several images inside ImageView to screen size. Currently I use scaleType="centerInside", it works good for bigger images to scale them down to screen size but doesn't expand small images.
All other suggested options crop or deform image. Is there any way to expand images (keeping ratio) via XML or do I have to do it manually in code?
I was wondering which resolution I should convert my videos to in order to be able to view them in full screen on the X8?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have spent the last two years with the Instinct. Now with a couple days on the Evo I would like to comment on a couple of big improvements. I liked the Instinct and it was flawless as a phone. The Evo with its large screen blows it away. Colors on videos and in photos on web browsers are way better. I am a webmaster for a site that is very photo intensive and my opinion is that the Evo colors are very accurate. This is no small thing as our customers need to see the products clearly if they are to make buying decisions. Text in the browser will auto adjust when you expand the screen and I could read articles without my reading glasses which I need for almost everything. These two things make the web actually usable on my phone now.

I tried just making a folder on the sd card and pasting a video(mp4) in it, but the droid doesn't recognize it.Then i used Motorola media link, it worked, but the picture quality didn't seem as sharp on the droid than it did on the iphone(didn't compress it when i transferred) and can't seem to figure out how to expand video to fill screen.

I'm writing an Activity that should take up the entire screen.What happens is that the window title and notification bar are both visible for just a moment when the activity starts up. Then they slide off, leaving my activity with a messed up layout: a blank space the size of the notification bar gets left at the top of the screen, and a little bit of my layout gets cut off at the bottom of the screen.It appears that it's laid out the activity the size of the full screen, but then pushed it down a bit so part of it gets cut off.If I remove either one of the two lines above, everything works correctly and nothing gets cut off. But then I have a title bar or notification bar at the top of the screen, which I don't want.

The specified screen resolution is, as in the droid, 854x480. It shows up in the emulator in horizontal mode (wide, not very tall). The map starts about a third of the way from the left and ends about a third of the way from the right. It starts at the top and ends about a third of the way from the bottom of the screen. I have no clue why that would happen, as I specified "fill_parent".
Tried to search for this one but the search terms I used didn't seem to find worthwhile results. I'm creating an application to run on a device with a 800x480 resolution (the archos 5) so I've created an AVD in the emulator with that resolution. However, when I run my program in the emulator it simply shows the program with the default android size, centered in the 800x480 window. It is not stretched to cover the whole screen. How can I fix this? I'm using Android 2.1.

My app correctly runs in full screen when it's started. However after minimizing and then returning to the app, the status bar pops up and pushes my views down a little. How can I keep the status bar from moving my views?

I had this memory card previously in my Droid eris and did not have this issue. Ive tried formating the sd card twice and resyncing the songs twice using 2 different programs double twist and media monkey still the same outcome. The songs are in itunes format.

So how can I show dots instead of the actual characters when the IME is in full screen. This happens in landscape mode, in portrait, its working fine.
