Android :: Droid Application Fails And Stops After Clicking A Button / What To Do?

I started a small android application to learn. I placed an input text and button on the screen. That shows on the emulator. After i press the button(which has an onClickListener) the application cracks and tells me on the screen of the emulator : "The application... has stopped unexpectably.Try again" and i have a "Force close", which of course closes the application.
I cleaned and rebuild the project a lot of times. i have no errors shown.(using eclipse)

I have an application with main view having a search button. On clicking the search button, search results are displayed in a text view. When I hit the back button at this view, instead of navigating to the previous screen, application itself gets closed. Could anybody please let me know how to go back to previous screen.

I'm trying to implement my own phone call handling UI. What I want to do is, if a call comes in, the incoming telephone number and a picture are displayed, and, if I press a button, the incoming call will be accepted/answered.
Sadly, the code does not work. At first, an exception is thrown if I press my answer button:
ActivityNotFoundException: No Activity found to handle Intent {act=android.intent.action.ANSWER
Then I added an entry in the AndroidManifest.xml: I run the app again, there is no exception anymore. However, I doubt the incoming call is not really accepted. Because if the press the Android's screen answer button (green button), the incoming call is accepted and a green in call icon is also displayed on the upper left corner of the emulator screen, while my app doesn't.
I also read the Phone app's source code in android source. There is method such as acceptCall() in the Phone class. But these codes seem difficult for me to use, because there are many imports declaration in the code, such as :
import com.android.internal.telephony.Call;
import com.android.internal.telephony.CallStateException;
import com.android.internal.telephony.CallerInfo;
import com.android.internal.telephony.CallerInfoAsyncQuery;
import com.android.internal.telephony.Connection;
import com.android.internal.telephony.MmiCode;
import com.android.internal.telephony.Phone;
And, if I add these imports in my code, there will be too many errors, such as : "The import com.android.internal.telephony cannot be resolved" What is the right and simple way for my problem?

I have a activity which is called from another activity as an intent... This activity loads and starts playing a audio file. All is good - that much works. The activity also has a "stop" button and that stops the audio from playing - that is also fine.
But how do I stop the file from playing if the user uses the back button to leave the activity without clicking on the "Stop" button?

Basically what happens is my home button stops functioning. Instead of taking me back to my default screen, the screen will just flash. So I have to use the back arrow now.
I have launcherpro and beautiful widgets installed, but I dont know if either of these would cause the issue.
Ive had to reboot my phone several times before its fixed, then it will randomly happen again.
Has anyone experienced this? Please help. This is so frustrating and annoying.
I unstalled launcher pro plus and beautiful widgets and rebooted and its still happening. Im trying to find out if this is an issue others have experienced or if I have a defective unit that I need to return?

Double-clicking menu unlocks it, but if you are returning to the home screen, up pops the menu bar because then i have to click "back" to get rid of it.

I have to develop one android application.
Here is the scenario:There are many images in a linearlayout. When selected, the layout should be displayed with another(gradient_bg_hover.xml) background. This works well now.
Now, I would like that when I open a new activity and come back to this one, the last selected layout should still be the highlighted one (with the (gradient_bg_hover.xml) background).
Now i have used below code for highlighting the image when pressed:

This is my first post but have been reading the forum since I got my desire 3 weeks ago.... love it so far, but I have just come across a problem, When I go into settings followed by "manage applications" I get an error that a process has failed, and then I can only quit using the force close button. I have tried restarting the phone and no new apps have been put on recently. Does anyone know what I can do to be able use the app manager again?

The camera button on the android emulator is disabled. I can't click on it and when I hover with the mouse the background is not blue like in the other buttons. I've tried to add "camera support - true" hardware but the button is still un-clickable. How can I click on the button? What should happen when clicking on the button? I don't have an real android device so I might be able to click on the button without knowing it.

Look what Im doing. Im getting a SMS message and breaking word by word using the StringTokenizer class.I've done this, but when I try to insert the word in the content provider, the application stops, and the emulator says the application stoped unexpectadly.
I don't know what to do anymore, I've tryied everything you can think about, but i didn't found the answer.

The crash happens because com.android.internal.app.ResolverActivity is trying to find a (single) component which resolves the following intent: <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" />
Has been tested BOTH with the AppInstaller, and the actual Marketplace on a real device.

My friend own a samsung galaxy s(available in Singapore) and i lent it to use.I find it having some lagging issue. Example when clicking application tab and back to home it isn't smooth at all and when i open AMPED(A Singtel application) the phone hang for like 15second and said the application is not responding. Samsung galaxy s should be a better phone compared to hd2 however my friend own a htc hd2 he doesn't have any lagging issue. Any idea why?
