I can pass arrays from an activity to a layout with the following activity code...
Is there a simpler way to just pass a single string instead of any array of strings, from an activity to a layout?
I want to pass a String like the input of a new activity, to let this one use the String some operations. The code I try is this..
And in the activity I try to recover it:
String textout = savedInstanceState.getString("contactcode");
In the onCreate part. I have seen that uris are normally used, but I don't know how to pass that String by using a URI.
I am having problem while passing string argument using javascript injection in my android application..
I am using the code...
, but m not getting the exact output..
I want to connect my login form (locally created) with website, so that whenever user enter userID & password in my login form, it automatically get added to that website login form..
I have tried other methods to download info from a URL, but needed a faster one. I need to download and parse about 250 separate pages, and would like the app to not appear ridiculously slow. This is the code I am currently using to retrieve a single page, any insight would be great.

I have been through almost all the tutorials and have decided to start on my first test app.The first part of my app is going to involve using the gallery widget (based on the hello gallery tutorial) to display a load of images. (these images will eventually come from the phones camera, but I will cross that bridge later!) My images are currently stored in the drawable folder in my project.As a first step I want to just have the user click on an image and it pops up full screen, just so I know how to get reference to it, but I am struggling. Evetually I want the user to click an image, then a window/activity(?) will open asking them for a bit of text. This will then be store in sqllite against the image. Code...

View 4 Replies View RelatedIn Android, capturing date from datepicker and storing as string in sqlite. Sorting by date doesn't work because they're strings (unless I'm doing it wrong.I've googled this issue for ~5 days, and it looks like there should be a way to capture the date from the date picker, convert it to a Long, store it in sqlite as a Long, select and sort on the Long date value, then convert the Long back to a "mm/dd/yyyy" string for display. I've tried various combinations of parse statements, Date, FormatDate, etc. with no luck at all.On activity start, get today's date and display it in button which calls the datepicker.Capture new date from datepicker (if one is entered), save it as a long to sqlite.On opening an activity showing a listview of records, select from sqlite with orderby on date (Long), convert Long to "mm/dd/yyyy" string for display in ListView.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have preferences where you can enable/disable what items will show up on the menu. There are 17 items. I made a string array in values/arrays.xml with titles for each of these 17 items.
I have preferences.xml which has the layout for my preferences file, and I would like to reference a single item from the string array to use as the title.
In the Android developer reference, I see how I can reference a single string with XML, but now how I can reference a string from an array resource in XML.
Can anybody give me some clue that how to convert binary string into a string(english). I have tried and googled so much but couldn't find an answer.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the tronsmart CX-919 mini pc running 4.2 and there is an issue with the browser reverting back to the home page or the previous page. When I try to display a webpage on our intranet it reverts back to the homepage or previous page after about 3 hours. I need it to display constantly. I read somewhere that it was a Download Manager issue and disabling it would work but I can't find where to disable it. Also it was stated that Flash was an issue but i tried uninstalling it and it just reinstalled itself and the problem kept occurring. I just want to display a page in a browser and for it to stay on the screen (full screen) until I manually navigate away from it. I plan to leave it on for weeks at a time.
