My Uncle is having Samsung Star mobile by mistake he factory reset his mobile & lost all contacts, pictures, sms etc etc everything in internal sd.
He never put any gmail account in it He dont have any back up also... So i want to know is there any other way to retrieve all contacts.
my laptop has the operating system GNU/Linux (Debian Testing) and I installed Windows XP Professional on VirtualBox. Virtualized XP recognizes USB devices mounted on the host. After, I installed the drivers for my smartphone Star S7589 and it is recognized by XP.
The problem begins with Flash Tools. When I want to start the process, after giving the button "Download" and I insert the phone without battery, then VirtualBox not recognize it and It doesn't start the installation of the ROM.
How could you recognize the phone connected to USB when it's turned off?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI went to reboot my Droid because it was lagging a little and when it came back on it go stuck at the Cyanogen boot screen. I pulled the battery, put it back in and held the X to boot in recovery and my recovery won't come up either. It just skips right to the Motorola M and if it doesn't get stuck there it goes back to the Cyanogen screen.
I haven't made any changes to the phone at all so I am completely puzzled on why this is happening. I obviously can't take it back to Verizon since its rooted so if there is a way to fix this I really want to because I love my phone and my wife will kill me if it is screwed up.
Read this on egadget so I quickly copped em and installed em on my epic. The live wallpapers are pretty cool, especially the Jump To Light Speed.
Here is the original link from the engadget article:
Droid 2 R2-D2 boot animation, live wallpapers leak out at light speed -- Engadget
And here is where you can download the live wallpapers and see them in action:

And here is where you can download hte boot animation, if you are so interested. I don't know if we can change it yet though.
I would like to add a favorites star like the one in the contacts list on android. Is there any way we can get that star or will I have to write my own? I can't seem to find any standard GUI Elements from android other than the options menu icons. Are there any more that I have not found?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt seems like the Market's rating system usings floor() instead of round(), so if you get 1000 FIVE-STAR ratings, and one FOUR-STAR, your app will be 4.5 star. Does this feel kind of silly?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had a one star rating on a new theme I released and as It's the only rating it looks terrible. I would accept it if they just didn't like the theme but they say it force closes and does not work which after thorough testing, I have never been able to replicate, whats even more annoying is that in the listing we have put our email incase anyone gets problems then they can contact us to get them rectified.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed my usual apps after flashing Mr. X's stock+root-CIQ Tmo T989 rom.First app I usually download and run before anything is Adfree. Then Astro file manager to restore APKs. But I realized that this method left me with some older versions of the apps and they wouldn't have their market links. Yes, I could run Titanium Backup to fix them..
Anyways, suddenly I get a star icon on my notification bar. I look at it and it sends me to a website claiming I won a tablet and to chose. Code: URL...So I decided to wipe and flash again and go through the same process to see if perhaps catch who's the culprit..
It happens again this time with a plus icon..The star icon has happened twice on different occasions, only in the last week, and after installing a recent update to Adfree.
I've had one app actually hijack my my stock browser and change the search engine to some smartsearch type site, like it does to normal windows browsers
I'm planning to buy the 6 inch N9776 android phone soon and I need to know if it's possible to use an external usb keyboard or game controller with it if I get a usb otg cable.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently Bought an S9300 phone and when received all was working OK. And I was really happy with the phone. BTW the phone runs on Android 4.1.1 OS (MTK6577).After a week I started experiencing problems with the camera and gallery. The seller instructed me to reset factory settings. This didn't work.
Then he sent me the firmware so that I would Upgrade it. This has been done but know, after upgrading firmware, when I turn my phone on all I get is a blank white screen. Although the hardware seems to be responding to button commands, the blank white screen persists.
To Upgrade the firmware I used the Smart Phone Flash Tool.
I tried installing Tranquility and must have screwed something up because now my phone won't boot past the Motorola Logo. It's been sitting here like this for about 15min and I can't even boot into recovery by holding the power and home buttons. I don't know what else to do now. Idk if my phone is bricked but even if it is don't I need the SBF file to unbrick it and I can't find that file any where. I did a nand backup or whatever before doing any of this so hopefully that can help me. What should I do now?

View 6 Replies View RelatedIt has come an Star A3 to my hands, with Android 4.0 and among all great things of IceCream, few Chinese apps I want to get rid of
the phone is rooted. I have flash the recovery 592zn.com_recovery_Star_A3_MT6573.img with Mobileuncle tools (included in the mobile originally) and done a Boot/System/Data/Cache Nandroid backup
Apps I want to eliminate :
Baidu input (and add the standard input keyboard)
own Chinese launcher (I have already install LauncherPro, but I would love to get rid of the Chinese one completely)
UC xxxxx (some Chinese browser)
Root Explorer (Chinese version, to be able to install the English one)
ICS 4.0 (also Chinese version)
a Chinese flash-light
a Chinese dark/light switch screen
a Chinese version of the configuration menu
so, basically to keep a clean Android. how to do that ?
I have installed:

I had the good idea to format the whole flash memory of my phone (Star x920). Now, I can find a lot of rom's but without nvram. So, I didn't have anymore a proper calibration ini for the signal =>no 3G.
And if I flash my phone, I must all times re-enter the Imei's. Is the nvram the same for all mtk6589 phones? Where can I find a "full rom" included nvram?
Searching for the calibration ini for my Star X920?
I try to understand android boot sequence on my JB (under CM10). I found some docs and there should be specific partitions (boot, recovery, system, cache, data).
My understanding of the boot sequence is now:
A) normal boot:
1) Power ON ->
2) bootloader ->
3) boot-partition where i flashed the kernel aka boot.img ->
4a) system-partition with the OS (libs, UI, etc) where i unpacked over CWM my customROM.zip ->
4b) data-partition, where i unpacked google-apps.zip and installed all the apps ->
4c) cache-partition with user data
B) recovery boot (adb reboot recovery):
1) Power ON ->
2) bootloader ->
3) recovery-partition with CWM where i may unpack all the .zip stuff to proper partitions, or restore from sdcard, etc.
Is this correct? I wonder, because i didn't installed CWM into recovery-partition. It cames from install of CM10 (fastboot -i 0xfce flash boot boot.img), so it must be in boot-partition and not in recovery?
So, next confusion: i looked up to /proc/mtd and i don't see neither boot nor recovery partition here:
Quote:
# cat /proc/mtd
dev: size erasesize name
mtd0: 19000000 00040000 "system"
mtd1: 00600000 00040000 "appslog"
mtd2: 06580000 00040000 "cache"
mtd3: 1a400000 00040000 "userdata"
I did a backup with CWM and loocked the data. There aren't boot, and recovery backups:
Quote:
# ls -lha /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/2012-10-04.18.49.55/
d---rwxr-x 2 system sdcard_r 4.0K Oct 4 18:56 .
d---rwxr-x 3 system sdcard_r 4.0K Oct 4 18:49 ..
----rwxr-x 1 system sdcard_r 1.6K Oct 4 18:54 .android_secure.vfat.dup

So, i think i didn't understand the boot sequence and partition schema corectly.
I am trying to do some low level performance testing related to device processor cores through adb which I feel it is affected by Android background services and system stuff.
As I know that the Android boot sequence stages are as follow:
1.Execute Boot ROM code.
2.Execute the boot loader.
3.Load the Linux kernel.
4.Launch Zygote, which initializes the Dalvik VM.
5.System server which loads the Android system.
So my question is how can I interrupt this sequence to force it stop on stage 3 to load Linux kernel. This can implement my intermediary performance testings before loading again Android system.
Does Fastboot or Clockworkmod recovery can load my device to a kind of Linux kernel?
