I have a Galaxy S3 through Verizon (unrooted) and wanted to know if there is any way to connect it to my Vizio E422VLE 42" Wifi TV.
I know on Samsung TV's you can you the allshare app. It seems on this tv there are predetermined apps.
I know you can go wired via USB, haven't tried that yet. Not sure what you can view on your tv to phone and/or vice versa IF at all.
I would like to see if I can stream from my phone to my tv or tv to phone. Using a USB cable or HDMI is cool but wireless is the way to go.
So i bought a samsung Micro Usb to Hdmi or MHL adapter that was supposed to work for the Galaxy s4. I plugged everything in to my 42inch Vizio and I couldn't see a picture. Connect their Galaxy s4 with Vizio tv's using an MHL adapter and not the internet.

the phone is rooted. I have flash the recovery 592zn.com_recovery_Star_A3_MT6573.img with Mobileuncle tools (included in the mobile originally) and done a Boot/System/Data/Cache Nandroid backup
Apps I want to eliminate :
Baidu input (and add the standard input keyboard)
own Chinese launcher (I have already install LauncherPro, but I would love to get rid of the Chinese one completely)
UC xxxxx (some Chinese browser)
Root Explorer (Chinese version, to be able to install the English one)
ICS 4.0 (also Chinese version)
a Chinese flash-light
a Chinese dark/light switch screen
a Chinese version of the configuration menu
so, basically to keep a clean Android. how to do that ?

I had the good idea to format the whole flash memory of my phone (Star x920). Now, I can find a lot of rom's but without nvram. So, I didn't have anymore a proper calibration ini for the signal =>no 3G.
And if I flash my phone, I must all times re-enter the Imei's. Is the nvram the same for all mtk6589 phones? Where can I find a "full rom" included nvram?
Searching for the calibration ini for my Star X920?
I purchased an HDMI cable for my Droid X from Amazon.com and when I tried it out it didn't do anything. I don't have wi-fi, I just want to watch my videos on my tv. It' s a Vizio, about 3 years old. Don't know if its my tv or my DroidX. Again, nothing happens when plugged in.

View 2 Replies View RelatedStar N9500, MTK6589.After an age trying to find a rooting solution that actually worked (vroot), for recovery, flash CRT 2.1 using MobileUncle Tools. It said it installed then rebooted my phone.
Alas now I am unable to boot into any recovery at all, Stock or CRT. I can only boot into Factory Mode, which doesn't seem too useful or user friendly and I can still boot my phone into Android.

I have a Star S9920 unit. It's a MT65xx device - a S3Mini clone. I have TWRP installed on it but I did something universally stupid. I did NOT make a backup. So I wiped everything and now the ZIP file that was supposed to contain an updated ROM won't flash.
ZIP contents:
boot.img
DSP_BL
EBR1
logo.bin
MBR
MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc.txt
preloader.bin
recovery.img
system.img
uboot.bin
At the time being I am unable to boot into TWRP and powering the phone up just gives me a blank black screen. I do, however, have ADB access(o.0).
Edit: Through ADB I managed to get back to recovery. ... so it's Square 1 again. "adb reboot-bootloader" gets me a blank screen and no fastboot, so I can't fastboot my system.img
P.S. A TWRP backup file from a clean ROM installtion would be heavenly Since ADB was working I used MTK Droid Root & Tools 2.4.6 to flash boot.img and recovery.img (re-flashed TWRP) I then extracted my system.img using ext2explore-2.2.71 to a local windows folder (in my case C:system ) Then I just wrote " adb push C:system /system" and watched the magic happen. One reboot later the phone was up and running.
I have flashed it several times until i got the ROM i needed, but in one of the wipes i did (cache, dalvik, internal storage, accidentaly deleted the backup too), i came across that is not detecting my SIM card, the usual SIM Management app is not active and i dont know how to configure it. Its like it detects the SIM is there (because it doesnt show the empty slot alert) but it doesnt give me the option to use that network.
I've read about it could be a IMEI problem but i also modded those to the default ones found on my phone, and its still not working, or should i mod them to the SIM IMEI?
I just got a Star N7189 with android 4.2.1 and the first thing I did, because it was a used phone that my dad gave me, was to perform a factory reset. My dad told me the phone was fine except the camera didn't worked, so I thought the factory reset could also fix this.
After the reset everything in the phone is fine and running without any problem except the camera. In first place there isn't even a camera icon or app, the only way I can access the camera is by sliding the screen after I press the lock/unlock button, and after a second of thinking it gives me the 'can't connect to camera' error.I haven't installed any application or anything.
I bought one Star N9500 from aliexpress and after few hours, it had the most strange thing I faced with a mtk cellphones because I tested many different chip and models but this one after I try to charge it because the low battery, when I come back I found it like power off, so I tried to switch on and the big surprise cannot switch on anymore. I did many tests like charging the battery with external charger, pressing both buttons volume + and power or volum - and power.... but nothing can make it wake up. The screen is black and no signal of life.
When I plug the cellphone, here is the most strange thing, I can hear the sound like a new device found but just after 2 secons again the sound of windows when you unplug a device and again like the first sound when u plug it, mean like u insert a pendrive and u remove it every 2 or 3 seconds but of course, the cellphone all the time conected by cable and testing different usb ports.
I flashed a wrong ROM, because flash didn't work, I used a Star S5 one instead of a X920Butterfly one. So I tried this guide http:[url]..... but my PC do not recognises phone, I Have Upgraded Windows 7 to Windows 8 so I don't now how I can re-install drivers.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Uncle is having Samsung Star mobile by mistake he factory reset his mobile & lost all contacts, pictures, sms etc etc everything in internal sd.
He never put any gmail account in it He dont have any back up also... So i want to know is there any other way to retrieve all contacts.
I bought this Star N9589 phone and it says it has 8Gb ROM!! So I went into settings etc and underneath PHONE STORAGE it says total space is 1.8Gb
Have i been short changed here or am i not looking at it properly?? Is there an app on PLAY STORE, I tried rom size but doesn't say much.
I'd want root access is to install Titanium Backup or a firewall to freeze/block access to a certain Chinese Android Market app. The app in question sends out a notification to feature new Chinese apps everytime the phone is given internet access and there are no options to disable it within the app itself. And since it came with the phone, it cannot be uninstalled, and of course, it restarts immediately if stopped.
One-clicks do not work-- they all result in directory/permission errors. For example, superoneclick will hang on step 7 and doomlord's method would reboot the phone without making any changes.
It would seem my only resort would be to use a different ROM, but there are no ROMs for this phone. Of course there are methods using similar MTK 6573 phones which are usually just clones in different casings, but I've read that using non-specific ROMs will result in a brick as there are slight differences. So how should I go about rooting this phone? What are the risks of using a non-specific ROM?
i have a little problem with my N9500, couple weeks ago my screen stop working, the phone works, because the 2 buttons get iluminated and i can hear the phone working but i cant see anything, one time i switch the phone and it worked but only for few minuts and again the screen become black and the phone works but i cant see anything.
I have reinstalled the firmware but no chance, i cant see anything but the phone works
I have a Star/Bluebo B6000 phone which I believe is based on the MediaTek 6589T. I followed the procedure here: URL.....to set up a new ROM for the phone. I seemed to have gotten it all done properly, but the phone only stays connected for about 2 seconds. The SP Flash tool moves into the red progress bar and then just fails.
Luckily, there isn't any software damage on the phone (from the look of it).I'm trying to put in a new ROM to actually fix a previous issue where my phone remains on but when I press the home button or the power button the screen stays blank.
But the core issue is that I am unable to put in a new ROM because the phone doesn't remain connected long enough.Or is there another way to install ROMS?
I would ask if there is a rom for my alcatel one touch 6010 X star, single sim.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed my usual apps after flashing Mr. X's stock+root-CIQ Tmo T989 rom.First app I usually download and run before anything is Adfree. Then Astro file manager to restore APKs. But I realized that this method left me with some older versions of the apps and they wouldn't have their market links. Yes, I could run Titanium Backup to fix them..
Anyways, suddenly I get a star icon on my notification bar. I look at it and it sends me to a website claiming I won a tablet and to chose. Code: URL...So I decided to wipe and flash again and go through the same process to see if perhaps catch who's the culprit..
It happens again this time with a plus icon..The star icon has happened twice on different occasions, only in the last week, and after installing a recent update to Adfree.
I've had one app actually hijack my my stock browser and change the search engine to some smartsearch type site, like it does to normal windows browsers
my laptop has the operating system GNU/Linux (Debian Testing) and I installed Windows XP Professional on VirtualBox. Virtualized XP recognizes USB devices mounted on the host. After, I installed the drivers for my smartphone Star S7589 and it is recognized by XP.
The problem begins with Flash Tools. When I want to start the process, after giving the button "Download" and I insert the phone without battery, then VirtualBox not recognize it and It doesn't start the installation of the ROM.
How could you recognize the phone connected to USB when it's turned off?
I was given star b94m. The phone in question is not working in 3g (in Italy)
The board housed into WCDMA / GSM (Dual Sim is) of any operator is, after a while it stops working. If you are calling .... the other party ceases to feel. If you're not in call, see the signal bar to go to RED and is not accessible. The same card placed on a older Android Phone 2. * Works perfectly.
- I thought about an APN problem .... apn rebuilt but nothing
- I brought the phone to factory preset levels but nothing.
It only works in 2g (good) I can say that the phone has a malfunction on the 3g?
