Got my new Hero and super excited! I am looking to disable notifications in my IM app (IM+ by shapeservices) - is this possible? Reason being - I dont that when I get a message it shows in the notifications bar... is there some scripting I can do? is there a IM app out there that doesnt show any type of notification when an IM is received?

I have my contacts synced to facebook but I dont want to get a text notification everytime I get a message on FaceBook. Can I disable just that aspect of it? I still want to get profile and pic updates, just not notification of messeges sent to my FB inbox.

I think because its a HTC phone it is made with the black bar, but is their anyway to extract the APK from any other android phone if such a file exists and just install it on the Hero, I really prefer the white one.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Sprint HTC Hero, updated to 1.56 and it still has horrendous battery life. I charged it to 100%, unplugged it, didn't touch it once and 4 hours later the battery was almost dead. After troubleshooting I think that the ZERO cellular reception I get in my home is the culprit. I believe that the phone is constantly searching for service and causing a battery drain. The HTC Sense widget only turns off the Cellular DATA, but not the actually radio. I would like to be able to leave WiFi on (i use Google Voice SMS at home) and disable the CDMA Radio alltogether.. is there a way?

Battery life has been just fine(And thats with the system at 100% lol), and the apps are amazing. But I have a question. I noticed there's two LED lights at the top of the phone. Yet I've only ever seen one light up! Is this how it is for everyone else? Only my left one lights up(green for texts, and amber for charging). And my friend's G1's Scroll Wheel also lights up, and was just wondering why ours doesn't.

2)applications
3)manage applications
4)HTC Sense
5) Clear default
The only problem is, there is no default to clear. I can't even click on it and force close does not work.
Why does every notification vibrate even when the ringer is on I'm talking about. when I get missed call and text notifications.
