i am new to android and just got my xperia x10 just want to know how do i know what is saved to internal memory, phone comes with 1gb but mine is know showing 220mb free, i am sure android operating system is on it but how do i see what else is on internal memory

I have an X10 and so does my husband. When we connect the phone to laptop he can see drive G(memory card) and when I connect I see drive F(internal memory). Neither of us can see both together and he cant see F and I cant see G. The user manual says that once phone is connect we should see both on laptop!
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyways I have just got myself a Sony Ericsson X10 and it's my first Android phone. I have upgraded from a Samsung Omnia running WinMo 6.5 and I must say I'm enjoying Android so much more already As I'm completely new to Android I have a few questions:
1, Installing Apps - The SE X10 only has 256MB internal memory and I have a 8GB memory card inside, I have noticed nearly everything I download installs to the internal memory. With my Omnia you can choose where to install it, is there a way to force it to install to the SD card or move it from the internal memory to the SD card?
2, Charging - For the first time ever I have never have come across a phone that fully turns it's self on from being fully turned off when a charger is plugged in and turned on. With any rechargeable device you need to give them a good charge (16+ hours) to give them a good life. But how can I do that as the battery is being used as its charging?
3, I've seen some stuff about rooting? I kinda understand it but what is the benefit of doing it? Is it risky? Is there any cons?
Please, I need advice on how to get phone numbers saved on the phone up when forwarding received SMS or MMS! At the moment, I can only forward messages to contacts saved on Sim card!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got the new 2.1 update (which is amazing btw). I use the 'email' application to access my hotmail account. I went on there to save some pictures my friend has sent me, it says that it saves the attachment to the sd card, but is nowhere to be found on my phone atall. I never had trouble finding them before, so as you can probably tell, im quite confused. I don't always have internet to check them, and they are veryimportant to me, does anyone have any intake, or helpful advice to give? Plus I don't have a computer to use right now, just my wireless internet here on my phone.

I have Advanced Task Killer app and when you open it it shows something called "Available Memory". This value used to be around 110MB but I have noticed in last few days that its more like 43MB....so what is using my memory if there are apparently no apps running? What does your phone say when you close all apps? My phone doesn't seem any slower etc but this value is definitely less than it used to be!

I am a bit confused because in the specs on the SE webiste it says that the memory can be expanded up to 16 GB. If MicroSD has a maximum storage capacity of 2 GB and the phone can't handle MicroSDHC, how do I get more memory?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a new Sony Ericsson X10 xperia mini pro.. it has a 2GB memory card..but since i want to expand the memory i bought a new 8 GB memory card and inserted it..and when i restart the phone, the phone shows SD card removed. Insert a new one. And definitely the SD card is not corrupted since it works fine on the other phones. If the problem is with my phone then it should not be detecting the 2 GB card but it detects only that card and not the new one.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSince last 4-5 days, I am seeing that whenever I connect my phone to my laptop (using usb), the phone restart and during this time I will have access to memory card for few seconds (30 sec), after that the card gets unmounted (from PC) and I will see a warning symbol (yellow triangle) on phone's notification bar. So i am unable to copy data to and fro from my phone. All this trouble started since I upgraded to 2.1 Note: I have checked the memory card by putting it to another phone and it works fine.
