Samsung Captivate :: Connecting To Web Portal-based Wifi Network?

Nov 18, 2010

At my college we have this annoying web based login and my android phone doesn't like it. It connects easily but when I go to either browser or opera mobile it doesn't load the login page the browser still thinks it has no connection. Is there anyway to approach this in a better way or bypass the login or at least save it to automatically do it each time.I need a wifi connection! every building has it. annoying this is once you move to a different building the settings are changed(probably because of the routers) and I have to redo it. of course it never works

Samsung Captivate :: Connecting Android - Wireless Enterprise Network

Jul 22, 2010

My university, VT uses two wireless connection, one is manual login and other is auto login Enterprise Network. This is what my university describe about it

"An automatic wireless authentication method using the IEEE 802.1x standard is available. Once configured, there will be no need to manually authenticate with each access to the Virginia Tech wireless network."

This network requires a certificate to be installed on machine. As of now they have support for Windows PCs, MACs and iPhones. Is there any way I can access this wireless network through my Android based phone?

General :: Connecting Samsung Galaxy S3 To PC?

Jan 3, 2014

I have a problem with connecting my Samsung galaxy S3 (android 4.3) to any of my PCs. Before everything worked fine but then I upgraded to android 4.3 and connections started crashing. It still worked but connections were unstable. So I installed Samsung Kies 3 and from then on I haven't been able to connect my device to any PC. I tried everything I found on web. I have developer mode and usb debugging on. I know my cable is OK because other devices work just fine. Someone suggested going to usb settings but apparently there is no such think in android 4.3 settings, so I downloaded some apps to change my usb settings but they all require a rooted phone. I tried rooting my phone but even for that I need to connect it to a PC. I really need to connect my phone to PC to test apps(android emulator lags waaay too much).

Android :: Connecting To AT&T Samsung Captivate Galaxy

Aug 12, 2010

Does anyone have experience connecting to a AT&T Samsung Captivate Galaxy (Samsung SGH 1897). It runs Android 2.1. I have "USB debugging connected" and "USB connected" on the phone but I cannot get the desktop computer to recognize the sdcard via Windows Explorer or get the devices recognized with "adb devices".

I have successfully connected to my Motorola Droid. I was in the same situation with it yesterday but, thanks to this very helpful list, I am now in control of that device. (and my app runs on it!)

Samsung Galaxy S :: Connecting Phone To PC Via USB And Kies

Sep 9, 2010

If we put aside the fact that Kies has many problems and that connecting the phone through usb is a real pain I found a solution that some of you might be interested in. I wasn't able to connect to KIES a few days ago no matter what I tried. I wanted to back up some contacts etc but couldn't. Also I wanted it to work in case froyo comes out.

Anyway I found out the reason why it didn't work. Instead of using touchwiz I was using the launcher pro interface. Turned out that if I wanted to connect to KIES I had to switch back to the touchwiz interface and then connect the USB. Don't ask me why this worked but it did.. So if you have problems with KIES and aren't using touchwiz my advice is to put it back on in case you need to connect to KIES.

Samsung Galaxy S :: Connecting Phone Via USB To Car Deck

Sep 1, 2010

I just pick up a Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant (I9000) and love the phone.

However, in my car I normally listen to all my music through a flash drive plugged into a usb port from my deck. So I figured that I could charge my phone through the USB(won't have to buy car charger then) and listen to the music right off of the phone at the same time....well my phone charges fine through it but I can not get my music to play??? I have never had a single problem with the flash drive and I've tried all the different ways to use the USB connection (mass storage/media etc). Do I need to move my files some where download an app or anything like that to get it to work?? Or is it even possible. I have also tried BT audio but I can't make it work either (i've had it work with the iphone before).

Samsung Galaxy S :: Unable To Add Wireless Network

Sep 24, 2010

I have a problem with a brand new Galaxy i9000 and the wifi. I have managed to add one wifi network to it that I use at home. I have a second wifi network that I want to add, called cat, but when I try to add it from the Add wifi network place, it gives the error: Unable to save the network. i have tried a power on and off. Is there a maximum number of wireless networks one can save, or is there a problem with my actual 'phone? The phone is very laggy as well, and almost impossible to use when 3G is active. (Load averages are as high as 30 sometimes).

HTC Incredible :: Network Extender - Not Connecting

Jun 3, 2010

We have really bad signal at our place, so we had to buy a network extender, which did a great job.

We recently got Incredibles. On the network extender, when you make a call, it will beep twice to tell you you're connected on it. Which it's still been doing with our new phones.

However, when I was away from home this week, I noticed the incredible still beeps for every call. So I'm wondering if it's even connecting to the extender? We keep getting the infamous reboot at home, so that'd make me think it's not connecting to the extender because our bars are still at 0-1 and we keep rebooting at home. I didn't reboot once in 50 some hours with being away. I usually don't make it to 12 hours while home.

Do I have to do something to set up a new phone? I was positive all I did last time was enter in the phone number.

General :: Connecting To Mobile Network / 4G

Dec 13, 2013

I have been struggling to make phone calls/send texts/go online without turning on WiFi. My phone rarely connects to the 4G network that I know is strong , because my dad's identical Galaxy S3 is quick to connect to it. My phone rarely connects to Edge either now. When I go into the "Search Mobile Networks" tab my phone just keeps searching and searching... and searching. I thought I had the solution a moment ago when I turned on and off Airplane Mode. My phone connected to 4G for a moment and I was able to send one text, but then it dropped back into nothingness. In addition, it takes nearly 30 seconds to switch into airplane mode after I select it.It's not the sim card because I tried it on a different phone and it works fine. My dad's a cynic when it comes to rooting and he's saying it might be because I rooted my phone, but this issue started two to three weeks after I rooted... is rooting a potential cause?

HTC Droid Eris :: Mobile Network Not Connecting

Dec 1, 2009

I had installed the "quick settings" app that was mentioned in another thread. When I tried to open it this morning to turn on the mobile network (I usually keep it off at home), a message popped up saying the application was not updated properly and it needed to be removed and reinstalled. I tried to go to settings>wireless controls to turn on the mobile network but that isn't working either. When I look at the button to turn on the mobile network in the settings, it says "standby to connect to mobile network", I click it, it goes away and says "connect to internet" but when I click it again it just tries and then stops after a minute or so. I removed the quick settings app and restarted the phone, but that didn't help. This happened once before and I just connected to WiFi and reinstalled the quick settings app, but now I'm somewhere where I don't have WiFi access. If it matters, I also have a shortcut button installed to turn the mobile network on and off, but that isn't doing anything either. Any suggestions?
