View 1 Replies View RelatedJust installed Home++ and now I'm on a huge customization kick with my Droid. Are there any apps / widgets that will give additional multimedia dock additional customizability? (not a word, but it works here)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't figure out but when my phone is in the dock station the sun is out at night and the moon is out during the day.I've manually set my location so GPS isn't always running, it didn't find the closest weather station to me anyway. It shows the right temp etc., and when I click on the temp it brings up current info w/the correct time but my dang display is backwards! Anyone else show the sun out all night or am I just special?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought the car dock and I do not like it. I wish you could just set the phone in the car dock and have it charge without plugging in the charging cable separately. Would it be possible to use the multimedia dock as a car dock? It seems like the only difference is the polarity of the magnet. Can that easily be reversed (cut out and turned around)? I already have an adapter to plug the USB cable into. 3M makes a great double-sided automobile tape that would hold the dock to the dashboard. Anyone with a multimedia dock willing to try it out and report back?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI checked 4 stores yesterday with absolutely zero luck, and there isn't one for sale on Verizon's website. Has anyone been able to find one at any other store? Tons of phones and very little docks.
View 48 Replies View RelatedI love the multimedia dock except for one thing, it's too bright at night. The light bulb icon does make dimmer and more relaxed, but the buttons on the bottom of the phone are lit up to full brightness. Anyone know of any apps or options within the phone's software that allows me to turn off the buttons?
Also, anyone have any app recommendations for setting notifications? I'd like my phone to ring at night only when it's in its cradle. Right now, to keep it from chirping with every email, I have to set it to silent, which also turns the phone ringer off.
I have not seen anyone mention anything about this.... What I am looking for is another way to add new widgets to the multimedia dock. Specifically, I have "Beautiful Widgets" installed, with the nice "Silent Widget" on my home, but I would like that to be a widget on my "Multimedia Home". Is there a way around this, or does someone actually have to create widgets specifically for that screen?

I have an ezstand and it is supposed to activate the home dock with a magnet...however it is very intermittent with mint.
Also, I actually see an error when the dock screen comes up (something like "Problem with loading Multimedia App"
I am guessing I might somehow have a bad version of the multimedia dock widget.. but cant seem to find a way to locate it to perhaps reinstall?
I got my Droid at the beginning of July and I really liked the idea behind the multimedia dock, but I thought $30 was a lot for something that did so little. Once I found out that media mode could be accessed with a magnet, I started looking at other people's designs for home-made docks. I used Crayola Air-Dry clay to hold the plug in place as well as make the phone fit perfectly. I wanted to be able to drop my phone into the dock quickly, it looked like other designs require you to plug in the phone, then set it in the dock.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just rooted yesterday and when I went to bed last night, I put my Droid in my multimedia and noticed that the temperature is displayed in Celcius, and I can't get it to change to Fahrenheit. I went to settings and Celcius isn't set, does anyone else have this problem?
View 5 Replies View RelatedAny word on when Motorola is gonna release a price for the car dock on their site? I'm definitely looking to get the car charger if I'm using the nav. And I certainly don't want to pay $30 for each.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFirst of all, I love the Dock. It has replaced my nightstand clock ever since I bought it.Two worries thought:
1. Although I use the dimmed version of the dock app, isn't having the phone's screen on 8 hours a day going to have a negative effect on it (burn in, progressive dimness over time)?
2. Considering that by using the phone like this I am practically recharging the battery every night, even if it's only at about 50% - am I hurting the battery in any way? I know there's no memory effect, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that it's not good to keep it at 100% for too long either.
Has anyone seen the Multimedia Dock for the Droid for sale anywhere online?

View 4 Replies View Relatedlooking to possibly root and install BB 1.1. but I was wondering if BB retains the display an such found when I plug it into the Motorola Multimedia Dock.
I am probably going to leave it at 550MHz to start with too.
I would like the added features of the BB, but wanted to be sure the Multimedia dock and even Car dock (got the Motorola bundle) work well with BB 1.1
It is no secret that the Froyo update we are using has a different docking app. (Nexus One?)
Two interesting things:
1. There are dock settings now (Audio settings greyed out & docking sound)
2. I'm not opposed to the new look - however, is there any way to keep it on screen? The stupid green screen saver appears after a while, and I can't read it at night (yes I'm blind - but that's why I like the old Motorola one so much)
I bought the car dock and it has served me well thus-far, but I don't really see a reason to plunk down the cash on the home dock. It's nice, but I don't want to buy it right now. However, I do very much like the display that appears when it is docked. I can't find a way to launch this without the dock itself, and I'm certain there has to be a way. What am I missing?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI picked up my droid, multimedia dock and hard shell clear verizon branded cases this morning (as im sure a lot of you have done also =) However in order to insert the droid into the multimedia dock I must remove the bottom portion of the case. Does anyone know if any other cases will work and not have to be removed? Perhaps the soft gel case that verizon is selling for the droid?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI am running BB 0.4 and have been for some time.I use the multimedia dock that launches the clock.apk. The proplem I have is when I hit the dim button for when I go to sleep after a while the screen times out. It lasts for quite some time so it makes me think that once the phone hits 100% it defaults to my 1 minute screen time out because the phone stays on for at least an hour (I know this because ill plug it in and watch some tv then go to bed)Back when I was on nexbeast or before froyo I used to hit the dim then eventually it would default to a clock that would kind of bounce around the screen.I dont want to go back to nexbeast but surprisingly enough this is making me angry. I want to be able to use the clock for my room and the alarm clock but I also want to be able to dim the screen so I can sleep.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHere's another one in my quest for customization using the multimedia dock. Unfortunately, I have sub-par VZ service in many parts of my house. I'm considering the Wireless Extender ($249 - ouch), but until I make that call, I've been manually forwarding my cell phone to my home phone line.
Question: would there be a way to set up a script or functionality that would tell the Droid to forward to home when in dock and un-forward when taken out of the dock. Might be kinda cool. I think one of the mobile companies used to sell a dock that did just this in the early 2000s.
My girlfriend and I both got Droid 2's on launch day and she has been having an issue today that she called me to complain about but I haven't seen it happen yet myself. I am hoping someone can help with my description of it, if not I will come back later with a more thorough description. Basically what she said is happening is randomly every time she tries to unlock the phone to read a text message or something a notification pops up and says something like you are connecting to the home/multimedia dock and then the dock pulls up. She closes it and then it wants to open itself up again. Has anyone else had this happen and know what causes it or how to fix it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I put my DX in the multimedia (desk) docking station, the main screen (with the large digital clock numbers) goes dark. if i tap it to go to another screen, it brightens up and looks fine, but when I hit the Home button, it goes back to the clock and darkens.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just got the multimedia dock, and I'm loving having me phone always displaying one thing or another so I can check it with just glance down from my monitor. But I'm srqtlrting to wonder if 10 hours a day with the screen always on will be bad for my phone? It does seem a bit excessive. Can my x2 handle it, or should I let the screen dim while in dock?
