View 5 Replies View RelatedI've rooted my phone. I've installed SP Recovery and performed a nandroid backup. I'm trying to install Smoked Glass 6.0.1 by placing the file on the root of my sd card and not inside any folder. I boot into SP Recovery and select install and select the file "Smoked.Glass.v.6.0.1-ESE53.rom". Whatever takes place after that while it is installing, is beyond me. I don't receive any type of customization options such as blue theme or no blue theme. It supposedly finishes installing so I reboot the phone and nothing has changed at all, I'm still running whatever I was currently running prior to the install. Any suggestions?

I like the smoked glass rom/themes, but I'd prefer it with green instead of blue. (More androidy.) Is there one out there like this?

View 49 Replies View RelatedYou know where to find it. It was previously "coming soon", and just got put up about an hour ago from what I gather. Just loaded it and smooth, but receiving a call will be the key. If it passes this test, it's all good. Thought I would offer the heads up since he didn't advertise the update, it was just snuck in there.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFirst off, sorry if this has been posted. I searched all over and couldn't find it so if it is, no need to answer. Just point me in the right direction please. Ok - New to rooting- Sick of waiting for 2.1 ota and wanted to wireless tether, and OC. I rooted and installed the newest smoked glass rom 6.0.1 and accidentally removed some apps I didnt want removed. IE youtube. I heave searched about how to restore youtube and I do know how to do it and start over. Is there a way to get youtube back and keep my customized homescreens and new apps? I have searched here and droidforums.net but most posts say "just reflash." Anyone have a little more specifics? I just dont want to lose all my paid apps and customization time.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI installed Smoked Glass 6.01 about a week ago and I REALLY like it. Especially with the Helix launcher. The only thing is that I seem to be missing my YouTube app. Never mind the HD-default I was promised during installation (I didn't accidentally "uncheck" it, it should have installed), but I don't have ANY youtube app. Anyone else have this problem? Or is there anywhere I can simply download the required .apk.

View 10 Replies View RelatedYesterday I downloaded the latest Smoked Glass 6.0.Before installing, I nandroided and backed up my apps.No issues with install except one.The Weather Channel application fails to load. Not only that, but if I search for it in the marketplace, it doesn't come up. Even when I go to androlib and scan the QR code, it the marketplace tells me that it can't find the app.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI ROM'd my Droid with Broken Glass (I'm pretty sure it's 4.5). You have 5 screens...from left to right, lets just number them 1 thru 5. One would think the default home screen would be screen #3...but it isn't...it's screen #2. I like being able to just hit the "Home" button at the bottom to scroll directly to the home screen. Anyone know why the home screen is screen #2 and if I can change it to screen #3?
Side note...how can I tell what version of Smoked Glass (or any other ROM for that matter) I'm running?
I rooted a while back and installed smoked glass. Now that 2.1 is out I'd like to go back stock for a little while. I made a nandroid backup of my phone when I rooted several months ago. My question is how do I get back to stock while keeping all my current applications?

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust got my Droid working perfect today, I was sooo happy. I am running Smoked Glass V5.0 overclocked at 900 mhz and loving it.
I decided to play with tethering. Got it going on my mac just great. I tapped the stop tethering and after Wifi Tethering shut off I pulled the usb cable without amounting, ohoh. I am usually so careful about this as my Mac get angry at me if I don't.
Now this is the only thing I can think of because then my beautiful widgets wouldn't work right stating it needs an sd card to operate.
Hmm, what's that all about I thought..yep went through the settings and the droid is not seeing it. Pulled and reinserted the sd card number of times. Soft reset a few and even Advanced restored from recently and still does not read it.
My Mac reads the card without a problem through a card reader. So I got this brainstorm to back it up, do a disk repair to see if that helps. No dice...
I erased the disc on the mac hoping the droid would see it and I could format it from in there, no go.
Finally I restored everything after formatting it on my mac and still it does not see it.
The droid just goes into a 3 time boot cycle then it says preparing the sd card, then it freezes and boots again finally to a working state. Of course without my sd card.
So I guess I ruined the sd card by pulling it without amounting? I have the insurance on this so I was thinking to Advance Restore to my status prior to rooting then walk in to Verizon and just say it stopped working.
Do I have to be more cautious and delete the smoked glass files from my sd card or just leave as is. I have everything backed up on my mac so I could just throw the restore file back on there if they replace the sd card for me or if I need to delete all those files to be safe and not jeopardize the warranty.Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.
After having upgraded to Smoked Glass, I had it on my phone for no longer than 30 minutes when I was hit with a new OTA notification.
I have already downloaded the file, and it is FRG01B again. The difference, though, is that, instead of patching a ton of files on the fly during the install, which is how the old one worked, this one simply formats System and then copies the entire contents of system from the .ZIP to your phone.
Be that as it may, it looks like I *somehow* got a notification for a full ROM update from VZW.
Again, like I said, it is FRG01B - but the good news is that this is a full ROM, and for those having issues with the previous one, which makes sure you have ESE81 (2.1) installed on your phone, this one does *not*.
Theoretically, I should be able to install this over any previous version of Android - which I am about to test right now.
I love the way all the widgets look in the Smoked Glass roms. Is there any way to get those widgets on an unrooted phone on the 2.1 leaks? I tried installing the APK from the rom via an installer app on the phone and ADB. No luck. Any other ideas? Any apk files I can try? I'm hoping I don't have to wait for root for these.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm still patiently waiting on leak root, but in the mean time is there anyone who wants to get something like Smoked Glass on the Eris. What a beautiful rom... I've heard it works really well on the Moto Droid too.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've saw the 'weather widget smoked glass', and tried to find this at the market. When I search for 'weather widget' i get these:
weather widget default
weather widget HUD toggle
weather widget glass toggle
Now, the information says "androidapps toggle skin, don't download if you don't have 'Weather & Toggle Widget'
Search 'Weather & Toggle Widget' or ' weather widget donate' on the market or go lock20.wordpress.com.
First of all, when I serach those strings in the market, I get the same hits as above. Now, I tried the 'Weather widget - Free' application, and that was wrong.
I've searched for 'Beautiful widgets', but find nothing.
Do I need an external application called 'weather widget donate' or something, or am I supposed to use the native 'News and weather' application on my Nexus One? In that case, how do I find/get it?
I'm working on a project with a group that is using Eclipse, but I'm using Netbeans. Up until today this wasn't an issue. When updating from the repo they have added some source code as a library under a directory called /lib-src. When I try to compile the code I get an error that it can't find certain packages... these are the packages under /lib-src.
Using NetBeans I can add the library as a folder so now the references to those packages are happy. However, I'm getting this new error when compiling:
UNEXPECTED TOP-LEVEL ERROR:
CODE:.........
I can include the build-impl.xml file if you need it, but I don't think that is main issue.
Well I would like to try a custom rom now. I'm loving the 928 blackglass theme w/ stock rom. but the REVOlution theme looks nice. I want to go w/ a basic clean looking theme or maybe a rom. But do i have to change the rom can I run stock? I'm deodexed with 928 so do I put another theme on this one or do I need to clear data/wipe first?
View 4 Replies View RelatedHey everyone, I'm new to the forum and was hoping someone might know if the droid 2 has gorilla glass or not. I've searched everywhere and can't find any info on the droid 2's screen material. I know the X and original droid have gorilla glass and was hoping the 2 would as well especially since I just bought one. I have a screen protector on it that I'm not particularly fond of and would take it off if it has gorilla glass.
View 12 Replies View RelatedOk, so now mostly everyone has had time to play with their Droid X, and yet everyone is still worried about possibly scratching the screen on their phone. My question is does the phone has gorilla glass or not?? I saw some Youtube vids where a guy takes a key to the screen and tries to scratch the hell out of it. Yet, not a single visible scratch is seen. Can someone verify that it does have gorilla glass and therefore doesn't really need a screen protector other than for smudge proofing.
View 32 Replies View RelatedI now have dust specs under my screen. That REALLY irritates me. It's as bad as a stuck pixel to me. Yeah, I know I'm a bit OCD, but for me this is really upsetting. I keep my stuff in perfect shape, and I've modified all sorts of gadgets to keep them free of debris inside. I have no idea how to get the dust out from under my screen without disassembly. It sticks out to me like a sore thumb. Blowing it out will likely blow more bits under the screen. The edge of the screen is a trap for dust. I was going to use clear silicone sealant, but I figured I had plenty of time to do that given that I've been babying the phone. I've only had the phone for 10 days. I've rooted it, and I've loaded about 140 apps on it, a few of which are paid for. I haven't checked if I can easily "unroot" my phone without losing everything. I also don't know if all the apps I paid for can be transfered to a new Droid if I return this one....I also don't know if they'll just laugh at me for trying to return my Droid for a new one because of a little bit of dust.
