Motorola Droid :: Beautiful Widgets - Time Feature

Aug 30, 2010

It seems like the time feature, or something, is off when it comes to the weather picture. For instance at around 4:45PM everyday the image turns to a moon, and a sun will appear at like 3AM. Which is annoying.

Motorola Droid :: Theme - Change My Icons/widgets

Jun 27, 2010

I've had a Motorola Droid since April and I am still new to it. I want to change my icons/widgets to something like this. I think it would look better. I like how the icons are a different color and such. The dialer and internet icons are at the bottom too. Dunno if it is rooted or not. Is this just some basic widget app or something?

HTC Droid Eris :: Displaying Wrong Time

Apr 7, 2010

I just did a search for this and came up with nothing. My clock is displaying Pacific time, normally this wouldn't be an issue but I'm on the east coast. Does any one else have this issue? Is there a setting I'm missing? When I click on the clock it brings me to World Clock. The Current time is three hours behind, the Home time and New York time are both correct.

Motorola Droid X :: How To Change When Social Networking Widgets Sync Data?

Jul 26, 2010

I cannot for the life of me find any settings for this. I swear I've read about people setting theres to only do it every couple of hours or so to help with battery life but I can't find anything for this. The only thing I've managed to find is an option to set it to only sync over WiFi. Forgive me if this has already been asked but I couldn't find any answers to this dilemma.Oh and also, what exactly is considered "Background Data"? There's an option for enabling/disabling it and I wondered what the term encompasses.

Motorola Droid :: Way To Change "home" Turn Off Old Widgets?

Jan 31, 2010

I recently added home++, changing for the better the way my droid looks and works. But of course I can change back to my native "home" (or whatever you call it) by using the "home chooser." When I go back all the original widgets and settings are still there. Does this slow down the droid, use battery life, or take up too much space? I don't want to delete the original home just in case home++ doesn't work for me in a few days. Should I do anything to optimize running both "homes?"

HTC Droid Eris :: Clock Widgets / Time Not Updating

Jan 6, 2010

When I have an HTC Clock widget on my home screen the time does not update fluidly. The clock will display the correct time only after I've unlocked the phone and given it several seconds to update. If I swipe over to another screen, wait any period of time (the longer the better), and swipe back; the clock will display the time at which I left that screen and again needs several seconds before it leaps to the correct time. I've tested this theory on the native Android clock widget and it worked correctly. IMO, it defeats the purpose of having the HTC clock widget when the clock in the notifications bar is always accurate. I am also using ATK but I've made sure the Clock process/app is in the ignore list.

Android :: Displaying Real Time Information During The Execution Of An Activity

Apr 6, 2009

I want to display the status of the activity execution on the screen using the TextView while activity is executing. I am appending the String messages at different stages of execution in the TextView, which is defined in the Layout main.xml (e.g. TextView.append("Server started..").

For e.g. I am running socket communication application in which my android application is the server and it is receiving the messages from the local desktop. So in this application I want to show "Server started.." message when socket server on android started , then a messge "waiting for message.." and then "message receivied.." when message received by android server. All 3 steps are the part of a single activity.

But in my case, I am getting all 3 messages at a time after activity execution completed. Is there any API available, using which I can show the status during the execution also.

Sprint HTC Hero :: Gmail Messages Not Showing - Managing Memory - Displaying Incorrect Time

Oct 25, 2009

I just wanted to pass this along; You can take it for a grain of salt, but I came away impressed. I decided to make a call to HTC (the number is on their page, if you go to Support and "Hotline" the number is there) to discuss a few of the hardware/software issues that I, as well as others on the board have been experiencing. First off, my wait time was about 3 minutes. Very short, so that was a good start. I spoke to a representative named Jonathan (a woman). The topics I asked about:

1. Why Gmail messages do not show up in the "People" application under the contact's card who sent the email.
2. Some questions that I had about managing memory and the best way to exit a program.
3. The clock widget displaying incorrect time, and the new issue that appeared with the clock today (possibly brought about by some DST error).
4. What happens when you "Clear Data" from the RAM using the "Manage Application" menu.

I began the conversation, which lasted about 40 minutes, asking about the Gmail issue (#1) as that was my biggest query, but added on the others as the conversation went on. She did not know exactly what I was talking about, as she hadn't heard that complaint before. Instead of just saying, "uhhhh, yea, I don't know what to say" or try to spout off some half-assed solution only to get me off the phone, she actually took the time to look in some of their documentation, and when coming up empty, grabbed a new phone, set it up and tried to replicate the issue. At no point in our conversation did she sound like she was saying stuff just to "get by" or end the call. She actually sounded as if she cared......

Motorola Droid X :: Displaying Multiple Gmail Messages From Same Source?

I have encountered a strange issue. I received two emails from the same source with similar (but not quite the same) subject. Both show up fine in my gmail inbox (as expected) on a browser, but if I use the gmail app on the Droid X, it only shows the most recent message. The two messages were received about 3 days apart, the content of the message is different, but the from address is the same and the subject line is similar (just a few #'s different).

Android :: "Removedialog" When Displaying 2 Dialogs At Same Time

Oct 28, 2010

In the method "OnCreate" of my actvity, I'm displaying a little progress dialog while loading data. It's done every time the "OnCreate" method is called so even when the screen orientation change. In the nominal case, there is no problem even if the user change the screen orientation.

But, if the user opens another dialog (used to select an item in a list), then change the orientation, the progress dialog is displayed behind the "list" dialog and is not impacted by the "removeDialog". Do you have any clues on that behavior?

Samsung Behold 2 :: Clock Widgets Stop Refreshing The Time - Remove Home++?

Aug 10, 2010

Recently I installed BHMAN's 1.6 ROM without TW, and I'm having a problem where sometimes my clock widgets stop refreshing the time.

Now i've searched for this problem and usually the best solution to this is to delete any task managers installed, which I cannot because the task manager is embedded into Home++, so I'm thinking the only way to get rid of the task manager is to delete the whole Home++, correct? I'm using ADW launcher at the moment.
