I have a Droid X and today is my last day of the 30 day guarantee and I was thanking about switching to the Droid 2. I take a lot of photos of cars and videos of racing and things like that, so how does the camera in the Droid 2 compare to the Droid X. Can some post pics. Thanks. Oh and I don't use hdmi out or at least I haven't yet.

View 19 Replies View RelatedMy wife owns the Droid INC. And I have been stuck with a crappy BBcurve with worse network (nextel) for well over a year and a half. I am fed up.. I had my mind set on getting the Droid INC...My wife got hers on release date her phone is awesome and I have spent many hours using it. Today went to the local VZ store and the manager went to the back and got a droid X for me to look and and mess with. As some people have reported the phone done not feel as big as it is.. I was holding my wife's Inc in one hand and the X in the other. I don't know if its the way the phone is made or what but they almost felt the same size. It seems like the X is skinner other then the Hump.And as others have reported the Hump is not noticeable at all unless your looking for it. It is much slighter then the photos suggest.
Quality is not even close between the X and the INC even my wife said that her phone feels Cheap. The quality of the X blows the INC out of the water. Its like holding a cheap plastic toy compared to high tech piece of equipment (almost cant explain it) The UI on the X (moto blur) is nice and FAST the screens and the touch screen is super responsive seems better then the INC. But there is still something about the (SENSE UI) that I like better don't know what it is maybe its the widgets have more color or its that clock on the home screen. If that can be changed with the droid X then I would have the prefect phone. (On the INC I really like the pinch out from the home screen then pick the one you want to go too. Not a fan of the dots on the moto blur deal)The buttons at the bottom of the phone are awesome they are recessed perfect as to not get in the way but easy to touch when needed.
Any D1 using this app? Seems like you can set the speed anywhere from 250Mhz to 1Ghz and you can also tell it have different range when screen is off. Is this accurate and how does this compare to SetCPU? OverclockWidget (Need Root)
View 2 Replies View RelatedDo any of you have any idea how a 1GHz processor in the Dragon will compare with the type of processor in the Droid? If the Dragon/Passion is as fast or faster than the Droid then I think that's the one I'd get. I absolutely love the Sense UI. However, I kind of like the idea of a keyboard in landscape mode so I get to use the entire screen all the time. What do you all think? Do you have any insight on the overall speed differences between these processors/phones?

I'm assuming the speeds would be poorer but I want to hear from a personal account first. If the 3g performance is exceptional i may just drop my comcast cable modem given the droid x can support up to 8 wireless devices.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo this is my second camera test for the Motorola Droid X VS the HTC Droid Incredible. First test I did completely stock, but I used flash vs no flash. This one I am using all stock, not touching flash, I am using still objects. No variants what so ever.
I tried my best... once again Incredible was not agreeing with focusing properly. For small objects I tried many times, it would not budge. For large objects it did great though.
The X was superior because it would focus on small objects with ease and I would only have to snap ONE picture.
The Incredible did better in one area, the computer screen shot. I only had to snap one picture of the screen, where as needed to do 2 - 3 to get a good shot of it on the X.
I noticed the colours on the Incredible are warmer, where as the the X colours were a little cooler. IMO.
So still, my vote is with the X.
The Incredible does have a great camera though.

I cant figure out why my camera button is tiggering the volume and not the camera. Every time I press it to use my camera it keeps lowering my ringer volume and when im in the camera mode(from app) it wont snap any pics, it just takes me back to my main page and lower the volume. Can anyone help me out?

My back hurts, but besides that... I did my best to show the best quality of BOTH cameras, because they are both great. I realize that not everyone will agree with me, or will think I messed with something in my pictures. But these are all completely stock settings, not messed with at all. I only touched the flash on/off button.
My decision is I like the X camera better, it is easier to focus, and much snappier. Plus designated camera button! I found on the Incredible while the pictures look great on the phone itself and in gallery, that as soon as they were uploaded the colours looked washed out and not as great. I know this is due to the AMOLED screen. But both overall great. My decision is the X though.

My camera is stuck in the Negative Mode setting. I can't swipe from the left to pull out the camera options and the menu softkey doesn't bring up anything either.
I didn't notice this till about after a week or so using LFYv1.71. However, it seems that I am the only one using that ROM that's experienced this prob. Truth is, it could have been like that a while. I have a great 15mp camera, so I rarely need to use the mediocre-at-best 5mp camera on the Droid. But when I wanted to take a pic without the good one at my disposal, I found my prob.
While I'm searching for a fix to this it made me wonder, "Are there replacement camera apps, much like there are for the browser and messaging apps?" Well, of course there are. Many, in fact. Most seem to be paid apps, but if it's a truly better option, just might be worth it.
So what camera apps are you guys using, or could you recommend one?
So the default camera resolution is 6 MP and it says "widscreen." I know that 8 MP is "large screen" but what takes higher quality photos? I've heard lower MP doesn't always mean worse photos.

Yesterday, my droid x started randomly opening the camera application without anyone or anything even touching the phone. It's maddeningly frustrating. It wakes the phone up when the screen is off, which kills the battery faster, it randomly pops up when I'm web browsing or writing a text. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, was there a fix other than taking the phone back to verizon? I haven't gotten the phone wet or dropped it or anything.
[Droid X 2.2 No Root] For some reason sometimes when I'm using the camera or when I try to launch the camera, It fails. For example, I try to open a black screen flashes or the camera opens for a moment and closes. Sometimes it works, others it refuses to even after all running apps are closed, the phone restarted, and after a battery pull. This is not a shutter stick problem.

At first it worked fine, just seemed a bit laggy, then allof a sudden the phone would restart wheni would open the camera app. Now the camera app just shows a blackscreen. I have a 5mp Kodak point and shoot camera that takes really nice pictures that sometimes I can fool people into thinking I used a DSLR camera. Now the camera on the Droid which is said to be 5mp looks like crap in my opinion. I've taken pics in the daylight and at night and it looks grainy either way. I have played around with the white balance but mainly keep it on Auto. I own a Nikon D90 so I will use that to take any pics of importance.

I tried going to the "manage applications" and clear defaults on the camera, but the camera is not an application that shows up. View 19 Replies View RelatedWhen I started playing with my new Droid (4409) I saw that it had the same auto-focus issues that everyone else complained about.Setting the unit to action made it focus at infinity, so somewhat better but I couldn't get shopsavy to recognize any barcodes.I cleaned the lens even though it didn't seem dirty and now Shopsavy locks onto bar codes and the unit seems to Auto-focus with just about 100% lock (green corners).Could some of the problems people are having just be be caused by lens placement and skin oils?
View 34 Replies View RelatedI just picked up the GPS car dock and while setting it up I noticed that the camera was exposed. I plugged it in and exited out of the car dock and fired up the camcorder. It worked like a charm, this will be fun for the track days.
