Does anyone know if the Hero supports this function or would it be possible to do? I know its a phone etc but having pics on the tv screen will be quite cool, especially with some of the 3d games too!

Does anyone know if the Hero supports Bluetooth GPS? I've read where this is only supported in 2.0+ devices. If you're running a 2.0+ ROM, would this mean you can run a Bluetooth GPS or does it also need to be supported by the Bluetooth hardware in your phone?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've noticed with my T-Mobile G2 that there is no call waiting alert with the default settings, so I'm never aware of someone trying to ring me from within another call - a function that's been standard on every other mobile I've used.
I'm sure it must be possible to set this up, but can't seem to find out how to do it. Very annoying, as I invariably get calls on top of one another and people are starting to tell me they're sick of being put through to my voicemail.
I could only watch with envy as T-Mobile got and Android phone and Verizon didn't.
Well, my girlfriend is, unlike me, on T-Mobile, and after doing some research, have discovered that the HTC Magic falls short of what she wants. Fortunately, the HTC Hero manages to meet her biggest requirements. But we've run into the issue of her being on T-Mobile, which doesn't (currently) carry the HTC Hero in the US.
My question then, is if there are any known plans to bring the HTC Hero to T-Mobile in the US, and if not, is there any way to import one and get it to function properly?
hero came today and so fair im really impressed! free phone and �15 a month on orange with unlimited txt's 300 min and unlimited internet. phones great fantastic touch screen and i luv the app's.couple of niggly things first of all tho! how can i delete an app i've downloaded? and is there a facebook app anyone knows of where u can use the "chat" function?Ive tried some video as well as people said its abit laggy, i have found this sadly as well i've tried some different media players but the same thing, anyone know of a fix for this?

So if I browse my settings, and go 4 screens in. I want the back button to bring me to screen 3 (like it used to), and not to the home screen.
View 5 Replies View RelatedUpgrading my Sprint Hero to 2.1 has been a complete disaster. The one improvement is that the browsers work faster. Oh...and the menus are prettier and perhaps more intuitive.
The phone and just about every other function hangs, the phone locks up constantly - especially when entering and leaving email - and generally is unusable. I've been doing battery pulls 4+ times a day just to get the phone re-started when it locks up.
I work for a university and they got me a warranty replacement, which I've had for all of 8 hours. I can already tell that it's not as responsive as the previous Hero before I "upgraded" it. I'm just hoping it won't be as consistently laggy and non-responsive as the upgraded one.
My advice to anyone reading this thread - if your phone has not been upgraded to OS 2.1, DO NOT DO IT. Wait until a couple more updates are available...my experience has been completely bad.
Right now I can't wait for another update, hoping that it will resolve all the lag and hangup problems created by 2.1.
My daughters are forever taking my phone to play with and downloading games etc. This isfine but it does limit what apps I can put on my phone. Does anyone know of any apps I can get whereby it will give me the function to hide apps and have a password to access them?

I was on my main Home screen and just trying to figure stuff out and when I long press the menu key it brings up the onscreen keyboard. I figured it was for contact search or something, but it did nothing when I typed...or so I thought. Now everytime I back out to the Home screen a little transparent "window" displays with letters i first typed. I cant type new letters to display or even use the backspace key to erase. Any one know what Im talking about?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have just updated my hero phone and I was surprised it worked ok, normally things for me go wrong. However before when using the camera the zoom bar appeared on the left hand edge of the camera display and I could zoom using the trackball.
Now it has an icon on the left to go to my albums and no zoom scale. I can select it from the menu but again I cant zoom using the trackball. Anyone know how to get this back if possible?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have (UNFORTUNATELY) an Orange branded/locked HTC Hero running the oh-so-old Android 1.5 ROM....what would happen if I tried updating it with the Sprint 2.1 ROM (if this is possible).If it's not possible / will brick my phone, does anyone have any idea when Orange will release the update (not even had the fabled pre-update update which the rest of Europe seem to have had or about to).As an aside, I will NEVER buy an HTC phone again after this s*** is over with. View 2 Replies View RelatedYesterday i found a HTC Hero lying around at the office, i asked by boss about it and he said that i could have it if i got i working.The problem is that when u turn it on, u will only see the "Hero logo" and get a small vibrator beep.This is anoying since the phone cant make a USB connection to my computer, so i cant use any official HTC flashing software, im therefore kinda limitet to placing files on the sdcard.

Its been perfectly fine since I installed it over a month ago, but recently my memory card corrupted and now I cannot download any apps off the market.I had an ext2 partition, so I reformatted my memory stick the exact same way it was before it corrupted. Even so, whenever I try to download items from the market they just get stuck on "Starting Download".I literally cannot download ANY apps

The password was not correct so it would not pull in my emails.I can't seem to find out how to go back into my pop3 settings since the HTC Hero email application will not let me view my previous settings to make changes.There must be a way, I am just not seeing it.Please help me with the correct procedure.It tells me to select my email account from the drop down screen in my created email account, so, I select the email address that it shows that I created.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI hate the lock screen on the Hero, I know their is a way to turn it off, but i don't like getting a message and then the phone doing something in my pocket. Is their a way to extract the .apk of the lock screen from the droid, and just install it on the hero, I understand that the resolution on the hero is different, but hate the current lock screen, i have to slide it down 2-3 times for it to recognize. I downloaded lock 2.0 already on the market, its not bad. but it takes 3-4 seconds on my phone to actually give me the slide to unlock screen.

View 48 Replies View RelatedI dont know what "underclocked" means, but nonetheless the Droid's processing is a bit higher than the Hero's. And also,I know that the Arm Cortex A8 is a better processor than the Qualcomm's in the first place anyways.So, looking at those specs, is the Droid's processing power really that much more superior than the Hero's? Basically, I'm trying to get an idea of how much of the Droid's better performance is due to its processing power as opposed to its higher (and more efficiently coded, im assuming) Eclair OS.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI once had a samsung jet which was great but it was on orange and i wanted it on 3 because i recieved a better signal and wanted their push email. But when i put my three sim into my now unlocked Jet i found that i lacked 3's certificates and couldn't tether or get 3's push email.Anyway this made me decide to upgrade to a 3 hero to gain their functions however it seems their are no "certificate" needed and the hero seems to have its own push email service and can tether easily.SO my question is if i debrand my hero and thus can ugrade to 2.1 android will i still recieve free push email and be able to tether? as i guess if i change my rom it might be hard to go back.

I've been paying attention mostly to the Legend, because it was more similiar specs to the Hero than the Desire does. I've noticed that the new Sense seems to run very smoothly on the Legend with its 600MHz processor. Now, we all know that the Hero can be quite laggy at times, and we all want some performance increase from the update. But how much better really is the 600MHz processor than the Hero's 529MHz? Are the videos of the Legend a good portrayal of how Sense will perform on our Hero's?

I'm a medical writer and need to record interviews and since I'm going to be on the road a lot in the near future, don't have access to landlines and the ability to use a conventional tape recorder.
