HTC EVO 4G :: Weather - Clock Widget - Limited Cities
Aug 1, 2010
As an old iphone user, I am extremely dissapointed in the HTC Weather widget. Very small number of cities. I mean Fort Portal Uganda and not Fort Myers, FL? Also, no hour by hour forecast? Great effects, but lame content.

I'm trying to add a clock widget and when I go to add the city, it says I have reached the 15 city limit and I need to delete some to add a new one. There are only 6 cities and I don't know how to delete any or I would. How do I delete cities?

So i think the Weather Widget is already on one of the screens when you get the phone.... i deleted it and then added it to a different screen....
My problem is this: When i go to add a city by name or zip code and hit search, i see the pop up window for searching for a split second and then it disappears and it doesnt come up with any cities for me to select....
so basicly its not letting me add any cities... anyone else having this problem?

I just got a HTC Hero (my 1st android device) and am trying to set everything up. I'm having a little trouble with the weather widget. It found my location just fine and is giving the weather correctly. The problem that I run into is when I am searching for other cities to add.
For example: I used to have an iphone and I would just type in the zip code or city, state. It would find any city or zipcode that I enter. With the hero it doesn't find anything except for major cities. Is there any way to get smaller cities to show up. I trying to get some city in Maryland and PA but it won't find anything and there are no big cities near it.

Some how cities that I have never added show up on the weather widget. New York and Detroit come up often.
I delete them and they keep coming back.

I tried removing it and adding it back about ten times and it still won't show the weather..just says "my location" under the clock. If I click on the clock and load it, I can then click on the clock and it will load the weather screen, updated and all...but it still refuses to load it on the home screen with the time. Happened a few days after froyo update. How can I get the weather back as part of the clock widget??

Mine has been working fine until just now. For some reason it has stopped displaying the date, weather etc for my location I've tried re-syncing it, but it says "no weather data" available. Is this a bug? Will it return on its own?

I'm using LauncherPro and i wanted a clock and weather widget. so naturally i purchased Beautiful Widgets. When i put "Beautiful Smaller Home" on my home screen the weather only updates when I turn my phone off and then back on. I've gone into the settings and ensured that both Geolocation and Use GPS over Network were enabled. Any ideas why it isn't updating and/or is anyone else experiencing this same issue?

Just upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy Portal/Spica to a DHD and really happy with the move. Its a beast of a phone!
One question though, the "standard" HTC clock widget, that includes the weather on it won't auto update. If I click it, then menu, then settings the only selectable options are "Update when opened" and "Temperature scale".
The options for "Update automatically" and "Update schedule" are greyed out. I've tried adjusting the sync settings in the main settings section but nothing makes a difference.
How can I get this to work? Frequently I will look at my phone and it will tell me my location but not the weather. And whilst it isn't vital, I jkust think the screen looks nicer with a sun or cloud or moon or whatever on it.

Showing sunshine at 11pm and the moon at 9am. and before you go there, yes the clock is set correctly. Im set on a 3 hour refresh for weather, so i understand a little lag, but i would think this thing would go out to the net and know when sunrise and sunset are?

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this, I looked and couldn't find anything, but my HTC Weather/Clock widget isn't doing the "flip" animation when the time changes. The numbers change and that is all.

Why the weather is disappearing on the clock widget? Sometimes I have to sync it to come back on the home screen. When the weather disappears I still have a internet connection. I noticed it today that I was having this problem. I contacted Sprint just to get this notated on my account. I read this on the forum before but I can't find it. How can I stop this from happening?
