View 4 RepliesSo I went to sleep last night with my phone on my bedside table i awoke this morning to androids on skateboards constantly restarting (yes I tried pulling out the battery and putting in back in).
I updated to 2.1 about 2 weeks ago, and no its not Rooted.
I did not do anything weird the night before either I am thoroughly confused and worried.
I am still able to get to the power/Vol down menu thing
I am going to try reinstalling the 2.1 update or somethig, I cannot think of anything else to try
How do I stop Google play store and play services from running non stop in the background?? I have my location turned off, and privacy guard turned on, but somehow play services and Google maps can get my location? Google play store runs something called "daily hygiene"and all three of these apps restart themselves when I kill them. I don't need play services running, when only the location part of it is running. When I try and disable autostart, receivers, freeze them, use advanced freeze through ROM toolbox, they either revert back instantly, or as soon as the phone reboots.how to get this crap to stop running when it's not being used, and stop getting location, or whatever other things I'm trying to keep private?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've had the ally about 2 weeks now and about once a day it will re-start on its own. it sucks because sometimes I'll be in the middle of something. anybody else have this issue?
View 21 Replies View RelatedSo I wanted to use Media Players to play two different songs, and I wanted to always start a new song from the beginning. This could be unrelated, but I also just suddenly ran out of internal flash space when I hadn't just installed anything. I'm not sending a bunch of unreferenced Media Players to a page file or anything, am I?
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo my Vibrant has been freezing on me and then consequently restarting to the state right after the Galaxy S boot screen, where it shows no signal and searching for media on the SD, etc.
Today it did some really really weird stuff!
I was using Google nav and then all of a sudden the screen froze, but it didn't reset or anything. The screen it froze was not good looking either, it looks like it's faded with scan lines.
I attached a picture, sorry for the low quality, but only had a friend's Pre to document it before I had to do a battery pull. But you can see the scan lines on the screen faintly.
Samsung Galaxy S Captivate from ATT, it crashes allot!
Model: Samsung-SGH-I897
Firmware: 2.1-update1
Kernel: 2.6.29 (jetaek.lee@sep-11 #2)
Build Number: ECLAIR.UCJH7
Very annoying, I have to keep turning the phone on all the time. No its not low batteries, I'm not that stupid. Haven't messed around with the phone at all, firmware or rooting or anything like that.
If their are other threads regarding Android crashing on a minute by minute basis can someone please link. And when I say minute by minute, sometimes it is that bad.
And from what I have seen in other postings; I do appreciate friendly helpful people, however, please save the "Welcome" posts for other people, I just want to get down to business
I have updated all my apps earlier today and ever since there has been 6 or 7 apps that are constantly showing the status of installing in the android market. I have had to charge the battery twice today because of this. Is there anyway that I can stop these installs? I am new to android so please be gentle. I have a samsung galaxy s and so far have tried uninstalling the apps it says are installing, clearing the cache, force closing the market, switching phone off and also performing a battery pull.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOK today charged battery then turned off bump charged it turned it back one. HTC splash screen, then little splash screen then verizon splash screen then its reboots. It did this even if I removed the battery. Called Tech support had to clear all my data UGH!!!! luckily i did export to sd card a while back only missing about 20 contacts out of a 100 but its fixed now. Anyone else have this happen. I have had no problems with this phone til now.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, I've been using Juice Defender for a while. It's been working good. The issue I have is the timeout function shuts itself off all the time. I open Juice Defender, it's not enabled. i enable it, then 5 minutes later, it's off.
Around the same time, my battery life has been going down a bit. I rarely use a lot of data, so I'm not sure what's going on. All the other settings stay where I set them.
I have used TheSun mobile app on my acer liquid metal for sometime now , however the past two days i havent been able to login to use the app , as soon as i try to type my password the app restarts itself making it impossible to enter password , i have tried restarting my phone , uninstall app, but i still cant log in.

I have my 4G LTE A800s, it's working fine but sometimes i have this issue where in my phone keeps restarting by itself.... and off like dim screen....and then restarts.... i bought new battery..but nothing changed...
View 1 Replies View Relatedi have similar problem like bootloop, my galaxy star goes on restarting itself ,it lasts only a few seconds after boot and then restarts again , i have STOCK ROM which is factory installed , i did not root my phone , i didn't try any custom rom , i tried entering download mode but unfortunately download mode also doesn't last more than 3 secs phone restarts again ,
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, I had this HTC Wildfire S that kept restarting and crashing. I then replaced the battery thinking that was the problem, but when that didn't work, I assumed it was the phones problem. Never did the SD card cross my mind, even though it had caused me issues before with unexpectedly removing itself.
I went out and bought a new, better phone, thinking it was time for one anyway. So then now I have a brand new Motorola Triumph, and I transfer my same SD card to it.
My question is... could it really be the SD card doing all this? I took the SD card out of the Motorola and it seems to be better now..
I am new at rooting and installing custom ROMS at android.
I tried to root my android mobile (Qmobile A-900, which is a rebranded version of Gionee Elife E3 Specs and Data sheet) from here and was sucessful.
I installed "MTK mobileuncle" app from google play store which would reboot phone to CWM Recovery when i select "recovery update" option.
Next i tried to install a custom Rom and followed each and every step mentioned here "For CWM Recovery i follwed steps mentioned here"
I made by current stock ROM backup file into SD saved in path SDCARDclockworkmodackup Then in CWM recovery mode i selected Format data/factory reset , then Install from ZIP, Select the Downloaded Zip (selected the custom ROM zip which was 383 Mb, the screen then installed and i recieved "sucessfully installed message while in cwm which then said that i should Reboot my phone which i did.
But now i just get my old Stock Rom welcome logo when i boot my phone for 3 sec and then it restarts and the same thing happens again and again.
"I know its not bricked coz it still displays stock rom logo and starts for a while."
my samsung galaxy tab GT - P1000 is always hanging & restarting especially if i m connected to the internet, what do i do ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Samsung Galaxy mini is restarting frequently . Is it normal ?
It generally restarts when i launch some apps like Cam scanner , What's app , Offline dictionary .It doesn't restart when i open the app . In what's app it restarts during conversations .Its not restarting all the time , usually it works OK .
I am using Galaxy Mini
Stock Rom : 2.3.6 (Ginger Bread )
Not rooted
I recently bought an HTC Amaze. I have it rooted, bootloader unlocked. Unfortunately, its a SEA (unbranded) version. I tried S-Off so many times but failed. So, I decided to give CM10 and AOKP a try, as I had heard that they don't require S-Off to work on any set.
Firstly, I tried CM10 with TWRP. It didn't work. It was because TWRP doesn't have Smart Flash. So, I switched to 4EXT. It worked. CM10 started, showed me its beauty. Then, suddenly, restarted. And kept restarting. I restored to stock GB ROM. Then, I tried its older builds. Same thing happened. Some people said, kernel could be the issue. So, I decided to try AOKP. Same thing happened. It showed me some screens; select language, lock screen etc. And then restarted. I also tried Dark Glass 0.4, with Mk4 kernel. Same issue happened. The steps I followed flashing the ROMs are as follows:
For CM10 and AOKP:
1. Wipe data/factory reset
2. Wipe cache/dalvik
3. Format system
For Dark Glass 0.4:
1. Format all partitions except SD
All the threads that I see for applying system wide, they would replace the framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk and thus would require a restart of the device from the recovery mode.
However, the ROMs like MIUI and ChameleonOS does it without a restart.
Even few Old ICS devices used to come prebundeled with 2-3 Themes with different wallpapers and launcher default widgets.
I'm trying to do something on the lines of above ROMs and have started checking their code. And found that the starting point is by appending an extra path with the AssetManager, but since they also do a lot of changes to other applications,
would be great if I can get some pointers on where to start, key things to do to get the ball rolling and if there is already some solution like this which I can add to my ROM
After attempting to download a few apps (actually a bunch of language apps), ie, after successfully downloaded only 5 of the bunch that I selected on Google Play, my Evo V 4G Virgin crashed and restarted.
After this shutting down and restarting repeated a few times, I uninstalled all new apps and force stopped and disabled Google Play... to no avail.
"Google Play Store is not responding. Would you like to close it?" message pops up twice and then the phone shuts down and restarts again continuously.
Did I get a virus?
These are the apps that downloaded before it started to do this:
Italian Lessons and Flashcards
Japanese Lessons + Flashcards
Chinese Dictionary+Flashcards
Japanese Word a Day Widget
Italian Word a Day Widget
BTW, after a couple of months I had the phone, every time the phone is restarted about 2/3 of my apps blank out (ie, replaced by the generic green Android icons) for a few minutes before they are all reloaded up. Why is this happening? Is this normal? Is this related to what's happening?
I followed the steps, rooted, bootloader unlocked, flashed with kernel nAa-06 installed the v22 rom but it keeps restarting at the ginger xperia logo.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a sony xperia u running ice cream sandwich. The google maps app keeps on "restarting" status when I go to check the running apps. It is preventing the phone from going into deep sleep, therefore consuming 20% of battery overnight. This does not happens all the timeI have included a screenshot below.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy brother accidentally deleted google services from application list. My phone - Karbonn a6 keeps restarting from then . Its been a long while till this issue occurred.
I got my phone checked from service center and other mobile shops, they told the phone is dead. It just shows the welcome logo of karbonn and after that a small symbol occurs and then restarts again.
I've had this happen on both my old 2003 Mustang with an after market head unit and my new 2011 Nissan Altima. The Nissan has a factory aux plug so I don't think it's an incompatibility between hardware? Basically what happens is, I plug my phone in and start playing music, but the song doesn't take on the properties of the equalizer app. If I go into equalizer and change a frequency, it says "Equalizer has stopped." and then it restarts and THEN my equalizer settings apply to whatever currently plays.
If I go into Google Play and change the song or let the song finish and shuffle to the next play, the equalizer effects stop. My phone is a GSM Galaxy Nexus. I'm running AOKP with Franco kernel and all of the sound mods are disabled.
I just downloaded the go sms application and I keep getting notifications that I have two unread messages. I deleted all my messages and had my friend send me one text and it notified me saying that I had three messages. I have no idea where the other two are coming from. How do I get rid of them?
View 22 Replies View RelatedAre there any browsers other than the stock JB browser that don't constantly reload or refresh the pages when you multitask? I imagine I want one that stays persistent in memory. I've had problems with Boat Browser, and Firefox has issues with zooming that drive me nuts. Opera hasn't updated their UK for high PPI devices, so the buttons are too small. I also have this aversion against cloud based browsers.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi am facing is that when i power on my mobile [Its HTM H10 MTK6572 running stock rom 4.2.2], Boot animation appears and just after that, lockscreen comes for a sec. and then again it reboots and same thing happens! I don't know what is the cause.
By the way, It is not rooted now as it was before. Before this happened, I only updated SuperSU and nothing. The worst thing is that i can't access settings from app drawer and usb debugging got disabled itself (yes, i had it enabled.). Good thing? I can access recovery mode (stock).
EDIT:- My friend told me that your device is soft-bricked.
I've got an HTC Evo 3D running MIUI 2.1.20. I've been having an issue lately that's spanned multiple roms on multiple phones. Every few minutes the phone will freeze a and eventually soft reset. This only occurs when the phone is sitting, or I am on the home screen. If I'm using an app on the phone it runs fine until I exit that app, at which point it will continue to run for a minute or two before soft resetting.
I've experienced this issue on both my Evo 3D and Evo shift. I've used Eternity and MIUI on the 3D, and MIUI and Synergy in the shift.
I've updated to the newest version of Google Maps from the Play store. This version runs very slowly, often freezing or stuttering (with dropped frames). A lot of the time, it also "unfortunately" closes.
I'm running Unofficial CM10, Android 4.1.2, on Atrix 4G. How can I trace what is causing this crashing issue?
I've tried clearing cache and data, but nothing has worked.
