General :: How To Bring Back Message Notification Numerals

How to bring back the message notification numerals? i.e. I used to get a 1 or 2 on my phone when a message or two came in, showing the number of new messages. It has now disappeared and I cant find the information under Display, gestures & buttons to get it back. There is only 'notification flash' there but not like 'numerical notification'. I am in Australia and have been to my local Telstra store yesterday but they were not able to quickly bring it back. They said to wait for a technician but I did not have time to hang around.

I dont know how to get rid of this problem.
My msg icon on the main screen showin 1 notification but when i click the icon there is no new message in my inbox.

i have faced on my Micromax Smarty 4 A68 is that whenever I receive any message or Missed call on my phone, notification is not visible on the message icon and the phone icon. This is the reason i am using Holo Launcher and Apex launcher and unable to use Nova launcher or xperia launcher.

I bought it online around July 23 or 24 and I need to return it before my 30 day window is up. Can I bring it back to any AT&T Store or do I have to ship it back?
And if I ship it back today (8/22) and they don't receive it until say the 26th or 27th, can I still argue that I returned it within the return period?

I'm creating notifications in my Android application, and would like to have an option in my preferences to set what sound is used for the notification. I know that in the Settings application you can choose a default notification sound from a list. Where does that list come from, and is there a way for me to display the same list in my application?

I create an application which displays the notification when the service starts. If an user navigates to HOME screen (without exiting the application), the user could still go back to the previous application by pressing on the notification icon. This is very similar case as the track recording service in Google application "My Track".
I want the existing activity as Single Top activity since it has associated service running. However when my application tries to bring the existing activity to front via notification, the existing activity's onDestroy has been called which causes problem. How can I skip this onDestroy method? Here is my current codes:

I have one Android application, when it runs a service, I want to show the notification on the status bar. Then the user could navigate to other application by pressing HOME key. However when I try to bring the previous running application back to Front via notification icon, there is some problem with the existing activity. Even I declare it as "Single Top" mode (I want to run the existing activity since there is an associated service running) , somehow that activity's OnDestroy has been called before OnResume. I accidentally removed some needed default apps like Where and Gmail. So, I reset the phone via settings and also via boot up menu where you can install update.zip. However, resetting the phone in any way did not bring back the default software! What can I do at this point to get it back?

My notification is way too small all it is, is just i tiny little slither at the top and I want it to appear on the middle of the screen or bigger when i recieve a new message I am using a Telecom R83 using Android 4.1.

on my EVO 4G (Original) I was a dummy and had the phone rooted and got carried away when deleting pre-loaded apps off my Sprint phone with Titanium Backup. I can't see any notifications since I apparently deleted something to do with the Notification Bar. Never realized how important it actually is. Can't see time, battery levels, 3G/4G/WiFi ect...

How to get back my old lock screen notification from 4.1.2 android (I9300XXEMG4)? After flashing to my new Stock ROM 4.3 (I9300XXUGMK6) i got different and so frustrating lock screen! What i must to change in android sistem to get back my old notification circles? I have old ROM extracted in .EXT4 file and mounted into "ext2explore" and all resources from it, also have fully rooted device on my new 4.3 andorid. I tried to replace "OmaDrmPopup.apk, OmaDrmPopup.odex" from old ROM, and also tried to replace "PopupuiReceiver.apk, and PopupuiReceiver.odex" but nothing happend. What .apk is responsable for that lock screen notifications i want? See attached images to understand my problem.
Phone: SGS3 i9300
Current ROM: STOCK I9300XXUGMK6 (android 4.3)
Old ROM: STOCK I9300XXEMG4 (android 4.1.2)

I cannot seem to find how to make my phone vibrate when I recieve a text message, or have the message notification display on top of apps when I'm in a other app. (e.g. the only way for me to see if I have a message is to go back to the desktop).

At the moment I am using CM 7.1 on my Desire HD.
I was wondering if it is possible that when I swipe to clear a notification (in particular messages, I used GO SMS for text messages and Whatsapp) that it counts as a 'read' message. At the moment it just removes it from the notification bar although the message is still unread.
I hope I made clear what I am trying to get across. Is what I am looking for even possible?

I am receiving many emails from different accounts (approx 6 different accounts) and I would like to have a way to read the emails from the notification panel and mark them as "read" or "delete".
And, in the mail app, the best will be with a consolidated view for unread messages.
I don't want an application that "proxifies" our data (man in the middle; and they have the password of our mailbox).

i've changed three android tablets so far, rooted my phone, installed and tweaked dozen of roms on it,
on both my tablet and phone i have facebook and gmail applications. they are basically the same .apks since i have a backup of them on a sd card and if i format one device, i often use restire the apps from the sd card.
and you know how you get an instant notification on your phone if you receive a fb message or an e-mail? that doesn't happen on my tablet. it seems that a couple of minutes after i turn off the display on my tablet, it drops the wifi connection (a power save thing i suppose).
is there any way to ensure a constant wifi connection on my tablet so that i receive email/fb notifications in real time and just not after i turn the display on?

Instead of trying to grab the notification bar and swiping it down, simply start ABOVE the screen and swipe down. Fast or slow makes no difference.
You can swipe it back up, or simply hit the back button.

Sometimes when I receive messages it makes the notification sound and will show message in notification bar but the text of the message will not appear in the text thread. Used to happen every once in a while, now doing it multiple times a day. I use Handcent but I doubt that is the problem because the messages dont show up in the regular messaging either. Just want to see if i am alone with this problem.

I've attempted to flash a newer version of cyanogenmod on my phone (10.1.3 to 11). I'm using TWRP 2.6.1.0. I can not boot because I've wiped the phone (dalvik, system, data, internal storage, cache), and I suspect the ROM I have is corrupted but I can't connect it to my computer and transfer the file via USB because I have no ROM installed and can not boot. I also can't take the SD card (since there's non) and put the file that way. My phone is Oppo find 5
My root file flashing was successful, but installation of the ROM cm-11-20140204-NIGHTLY has failed. I assume the file was corrupted, but I have no way to find out what it is. I now realize my mistakes, like wiping the system unnecessarily.Is there any way to get another file on the device?

I own the HCL ME U1 Tablet and I have flashed it with a custom ROM as told HERE - [URL]. Two things:
1) get my device to recover to the original Stock ROM of ICS 4.0.3 and Kernel 3.0.8 (I have not made a backup of the stock ROM, that was the most stupid thing I've ever done!!!).
2) Which are the best ROM's to flash on the HCL ME U1 tablet and If yes, are there any available as of now?

I'm running 4.3 on my AT&T (not sure if that is relevant) Galaxy S3. A few weeks ago I updated it to 4.3 when I saw a message that an update was available.
I keep a lot of work contacts in the phone but over the years I've built a collection of "contacts" that have no first/last name but are simply just a "Company" field with a phone and fax number.
Before 4.3 I could use the keypad in the stock Phone app to spell out company names (e.g. I could pull up the number for "XYZ Widgets, Inc." by typing "XYZ", just like searching for a person's name).
Ever since 4.3 I've been unable to do this. I go into my contacts and they are still shown there. But they do not show up when I'm typing them out. So I have a workaround but it's cumbersome.
Any settings I can change to try to fix this? I took some screen captures of the menu options I have under "call settings" in the Phone app. Link: [URL]

When I scroll up in an SMS to look at previous messages in the conversation the phone snaps it back to the most recent message. Even if I hold without releasing it still snaps back, wtf? Am I not allowed to read my old messages?
