I would start make AOKP Roms for Galaxy S3 and very need for me is options paranoid and opportunities dpi settings for all phone features, plus can set the tablet UI ... What I need to get started?

The devs in our forums aren't interested in porting AOKP to our device. But there is a fully functional cm9 build working. I'm mainly trying to port AOKP for its customization options "RomControl" so is there a way to at least bring the romcontrol menu to a working cm9 rom?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI installed AOKP custom rom on my Samsung Galaxy nexus yesterday and everything works fine so far except 2 things:
1) I can not receive or send group text messages from the android messaging app. I know I can use other apps like whatapp, etc to do this...but I want to use regular messaging app that sends it as message over verizon cell network.
2) My battery was down to 30% and I took it out and put it back in....and the battery indicator shows it at 100%. Thats obviously not right.
My hope is to port CM9 to the HTC Desire HD/Inspire 4G.

I've been following a few guides on how to port AOKP to this device and non of the guides worked. I also read that cm9 and AOKP are one of the same. So if u get one to work the other should just as easily. But it doesn't seem to be working. So I figured maybe porting won't work. Maybe I have to build it from ground up. Or is there a way I can bring the RomControl menu to the current cm9 build?

I downloaded such an app and it called DejaOffice. However, due to some bug (or lake of one feature) I prefer to use some other solution.
I've installed a jelly bean version aokp on my GT P7510. And after installing my computer cannot recognize it so i cannot install another roam the other big BIG mustake i made was not installing GAPPS i totally forgot so now i dont have google play or files folder or anything and cannot acces my tablet from my pc, how to get this fixed nothing can be installed to it even from the browser.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to build a custom ROM for Samsung P3113 based on AOKP source on the jb branch. I was able to make "unofficial" release using "brunch aokp_p3113". However, when I attempted to make a distribution release, the "make -j4 dist" failed. The following are the commands I used:
. build/envsetup.sh
lunch aokp_p3113-userdebug
make -j4 dist
I got the following error messages:
device/moto/stingray/recovery/recovery_ui.cpp:22:20: fatal error: device.h: No such file or directory compilation terminated.
make: *** [out/target/product/p3113/obj/STATIC_LIBRARIES/librecovery_ui_stingray_intermediates/recovery_ui.o] Error 1
By the way, I don't need to build OTA package.
I recently bought an HTC Amaze. I have it rooted, bootloader unlocked. Unfortunately, its a SEA (unbranded) version. I tried S-Off so many times but failed. So, I decided to give CM10 and AOKP a try, as I had heard that they don't require S-Off to work on any set.
Firstly, I tried CM10 with TWRP. It didn't work. It was because TWRP doesn't have Smart Flash. So, I switched to 4EXT. It worked. CM10 started, showed me its beauty. Then, suddenly, restarted. And kept restarting. I restored to stock GB ROM. Then, I tried its older builds. Same thing happened. Some people said, kernel could be the issue. So, I decided to try AOKP. Same thing happened. It showed me some screens; select language, lock screen etc. And then restarted. I also tried Dark Glass 0.4, with Mk4 kernel. Same issue happened.The steps I followed flashing the ROMs are as follows:
For CM10 and AOKP:
1. Wipe data/factory reset
2. Wipe cache/dalvik
3. Format system
For Dark Glass 0.4:
1. Format all partitions except SD
I can run CM10 just fine on my P3113 Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. But I tried several AOKP builds for this tablet and none will boot. I did a factory/data wipe every time.

Build worked fine for a month or so. Then my battery died last week and upon reboot, it got stuck on Initiating Swagger screen. Tried wiping the cache, the dalvik cache and battery stats with no luck. Finally just factory reset and booted a new identical aokp download. A week went by and everything seemed peachy until the battery died again and I got the same problem.
I repeated the process again but really want to be sure this doesnt happen again.
I would like to change my region/language setting independently from the general LANGUAGE-SETTING in settings !!!
Ok that means i dont care about the language my apps will be displayed in as long as it is english "which should be in every rom.."
But i do care about the region they are set in... means when i start MIUI News/Weather (geniewidget.apk) I want to see News from Germany and temperature in Celsius..
When I play "who-becomes-rich" I want Euro for currency! and so on ...
Is there any way to set the region like that ? (build.prop or anything else..?)
Im using MIUI v4 with my G-Nex.
I know ime developer can create his own setting activity which will be displayed in Settings apk. I wonder whether there is a common way to interate any settings activity into Settings apk.

- Auto advance
- Message text size
- Ask to show pictures
I have tried different contexts, inbox, recycle bin, unread email, read email, but cannot find this setting, in fact according to the Google support page I am missing a whole range of settings.
As the title states, is there anyway to set DNS settings in 4.3 platform-wide?
I used to use Set DNS to do this but it seems that Set DNS is incompatible with 4.3. I notice there is a way to set DNS settings on WiFi but I need it for 3G/LTE.
So I've noticed that some of my app settings (i.e. log-ins and such) don't "save" as of late. For example it started with Twitter where I had to always keep checking the notification boxes. Now it's gone even further...
I started using Evernote and every few hours, the app "kicks me out" and I have to log back in. I use Chomp SMS and it's not saving any of the customizations i set within the app. Google+ won't stay logged in either. Is it an Android thing? Do I have some sort of Memory leak? Should I wipe the phone and start over?
I thought it was due to the taks killer app, so I deleted that and rebooted.... then it still happened so I thought Juice Defender was killing the apps so I disabled it.... AND THE APPS ARE STILL DOING IT!!!
Any app available which can lock "settings" , so that nobody can delete anything from app manager !!
Even an app which can lock "app manager" can solve the same purpose !!

View 6 Replies View RelatedEarlier I had set some DNS Servers for use on my phone but now i want the DNS server to be decided by the router. i.e. i want to clear my dns settings. but i do want to set a static ip for the wifi. how do i proceed with it??
deleting the dns server from the menu provides an error(type a valid IP)

I want to add a rom version into settings, but where should i add it to my settings?
Just wondering, since they aren't correct for the networks I use. For example, Telenor MMS port is 9023 (or something like that) but the correct setting is port 8080 ...
HTC gets them right, but all custom ROMs I have tried (a lot) have the same none working settings. Flashing a new ROM and booting with no sim card gives the same result, so it looks to me like an android fault?
How to add CM settings to the app drawer or settings app?
I'm currently developing LeWaOS rom for the htc wildfire. It's based on stable CM7.2
The CMsettings apk is included in the rom, i can go through the CMsettings by making shortcuts on the homescreen for it. BUT can I include it as an individual app in the app drawer so it becomes easier to access ??
If not then is it possible to add it to the settings apk ?
What are the best general settings to use on the camera?I always use manual focus where you have to touch the screen to focus where you want the lense to focus on, everything else is stock I think.Be interested to see your settings if you think you have it perfect or at-least as good as you can get with the camera
