I have a Goophone s4 mega running 4.2.2. I was using the camera and it stopped suddenly. And now when I launch the camera app it says can't connect to the camera. I've looked into it a little and I think I'm missing a folder in the system directory called cam data or cameradata. Does that sound like it could be stopping the camera?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm desperately trying to install a new recovery to install new rom, the phone will not turn on anymore, when I connect it is not detected (with the usual beeping sound on your computer).
I found online a full backup of a MTK6577 (boot.img, preloads, logo, recovery, etc.) I put all these files and made the procedure of flash with the software flash tools, the operation is completed I came out the green circle all that went well, but the phone will not turn on anymore.
The only strange thing is that I can load it with the power supply, this is because I use a cable that makes you see when you are charge(see attached file),this when there is no charging source will turn off automatically.
I have buyed this phone by this store: ([URL]...), I tried to apply for a refund, but they are gone (as usual)
I tried to click on the back button (reset), but there is no button on the inside.
Any possibility of recovery in some way, even opening the phone, otherwise they are thrown money.
I have MobileUncle Tooll (granted SuperUser) and ROM Manager (granted SuperUser) installed on my Goophone I5 MTK6577 BUT I still CANNOT bypass Android Recovery 3E to install the goo.zip ROM -

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am the proud owner of a SGS3...But I'm not the biggest fan of touchwiz and I love everything about 4.2! So like many others, I flash a 4.2 custom ROM. AOKP 4.2 build 2, to be exact.After flashing, I loved it. Everything about it was just perfect. It was fast, light, easy to use, and FAST! But then I go to take a picture. And boom.
"Can't Connect to Camera"..I had no idea what to do, so I did the first thing that comes to mind. reboot. But sadly, this solved nothing. So of course I re-flash my touchwiz ROM to see if the ROM was the problem. And the Touchwiz camera worked perfectly. Later on when I had time, I tested it out again, and had the same problem. So I downloaded a camera app, and same thing. I even flashed a different Camera.zip for God's sake! I've searched for the past week for fixes and every one I tried just failed! So now I'm really done with Touchwiz and want to customize the look and feel of my phone (which is one of the reasons I like AOKP!)
It seems that my camera only works on Touchwiz ROMs! I also tried another ROM this time running 4.1.2 thinking maybe it was just a bug in 4.2! But sadly, the same error message.
I was flashing a 4.2 camera .zip file and i guess it was messing up the permissions. So I disabled it. Now it is working perfectly so far. Yesterday i switched over to a 4.1.2 ROM hoping it would fix it and so then i flashed this 4.2 camera and then after about a day of use, it messed up the permissions.
I have been working on a build recently and everything is running very well with one exception.... I am getting an error when opening the camera. "Can't connect to the Camera". Now I have tried a multitude of things to no avail.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am running a CM11 nightly of KitKat 4.4.1 on a VZW Note II, however I have had this issue with other devices, carriers, Android versions, etc. so I have always assumed it is just the way Android works.
Basically if an app that is currently using the camera (Camera app, barcode scanner, etc) crashes or hangs and gets force-closed, opening any camera app after that seems to always give me either a "can't connect to camera" error or a black screen instead of the viewfinder. In these cases, a simple reboot fixes the issue and I can use the camera again, but this is inconvenient for two reasons:
1. A reboot on my phone takes 45-60 seconds, by which time whatever I wanted a picture of is usually gone or changed.
2. Rebooting means that any apps that don't save the data constantly but run in the background are restarted and I lose the progress. Mainly I am referring to Chrome incognito tabs, but also apps that don't save in-progress data such as puzzle games or video players.
With my limited knowledge of Linux and my slightly less limited knowledge of operating systems in general, I know that sometimes a temporary lock file is Created to prevent other apps/programs from modifying or accessing a file or program until the lock is released. Does that kind of situation apply here, such as a camera lock file being created when camera access is started and then not able to be released if the app crashes.? Also, if that does apply, would manually deleting the lock file or creating a script that does it for me when it is run allow access to the camera again without rebooting? And if that doesn't apply, is there any way to regain camera access without rebooting when this occurs?
I just got a Star N7189 with android 4.2.1 and the first thing I did, because it was a used phone that my dad gave me, was to perform a factory reset.My dad told me the phone was fine except the camera didn't worked, so I thought the factory reset could also fix this.
After the reset everything in the phone is fine and running without any problem except the camera. In first place there isn't even a camera icon or app, the only way I can access the camera is by sliding the screen after I press the lock/unlock button, and after a second of thinking it gives me the 'can't connect to camera' error.I haven't installed any application or anything.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a Samsung mega and it has been a disaster from day one. I will lead to disaster part out of it for now and will simply ask a couple questions.
1) Why do I have to turn on my data to send a picture in a message? When I attempt to attach a picture in a message while I am on Wi-Fi it will tell me that it will be sent when my data is turned on. Also, instead of just sending the photo as is, it says that the photos is being converted to multimedia. When I turned the data on and try to send a message I get nothing but a spinning circle beneath the photo.
2) It It is obvious that there are defects with the glass that is used in the Samsung mega. My glass cracked within 24 hours of owning it even though I did not drop it or bang it. I do not know if there was a change in the temperature or what. All I know is I placed the phone down on the counter at night and it was working fine with no cracks. I woke up in the morning and it looked like someone took a scalpel and made a perfect straight incision across the bottom of the screen. I can say with 100% certainty that the phone did not suffer any damage by my hands which could've caused this to happen. After doing battle with AT&T I received a new phone. This time I treated it like it was a fine piece of China. Needless to say, within 36 hours there was a perfectly straight line across the screen from the upper right corner to the left middle section. The line is so fine that it had to come from the bottom up or from the inside to the outside of the glass.
So my question is, has experienced problems with the glass that is on their phone? After getting the runaround from Samsung and AT&T, it is obvious they know this is a widespread problem.
We have an S3 Mega, started using it as a Wi Fi access point for a Gateway Desktop, Windows 7. After 8 hours of flawless operation , the usb starting disconnecting and then reconnecting.The check box in the settings screen for USB tethering would uncheck. If you rechecked it it would connect then disconnect and uncheck the box. We moved from a front USB port on the Gateway to a rear USB port and that fixed that problem but after overnight, no WiFi access. Rebooting the computer fixed that.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3, with a 64GB Micro SD card. I would like to play back videos I have stored on my SD card; however none of the videoplayers I've tried will do it - they all say the file cannot be played. The videos all play fine when stored locally, so I know there is no issue with the files themselves or the transfer process of getting them onto the SD card. Currently, if I want to watch a video, I have to use the My Files app to navigate to the file on the SD card and move it to the internal storage. This works, but its clunky and not very nice. Is this a bug feature of 4.2.2, or of my handset in general?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've rooted my samsung galaxy mega 6.3 GT-I9205 but I got stuck in a boot loop after trying to change my boot logo using a app called root tools. Before that everything with root worked fine.So I tried recovering the phone by going into recovery mode and wiping all of my data/factory reset and also wiping my cache. Both of these thing did not work.
So after that I went into download mode and tried to instal something I believe CWM. But now I can't even go into recovery mode because when I try, the phone says that it's going into recovery mode and then just reboots... and goes into a bootloop.
I have set the APN up according to Straight Talk bring your own phone settings however when I leave the WiFi system I have no internet capability.

I traced that one down and the sample was working for a while.

I would like to run the Android Camera application from my development board for about 2 hours continuously.
I want to disable the phone lock screen that comes and shuts down the app.
I'm trying to write a basic camera app. The problem that I am facing is that it works fine in emulator but on the phone (Nexus one) it fails.
The point of failure is the very first call, i.e. Camera.open(). It fails on the phone saying "Failed to connect to camera service". Any idea what could be wrong? (BTW, I am calling this from my activity's onCreate funtion itself, could that be an issue?)
For the information, I do have the necessary Camera permissions specified in my manifest xml file.

I had my camera set to this.setRequestedOrientation(ActivityInfo.SCREEN_ORIENTATION_LANDSCAPE); and it works fine but if I change it to PORTRAIT instead of LANDSCAPE then it crashes with the following error...

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have yet to try this on an actual device, but expect similar results. Anyway, long story short, whenever I run my app on the emulator, it crashes due to an out of memory exception.
My code really is essentially the same as the camera preview API demo from google, which runs perfectly fine.
The only file in the app (that I created/use) is as below-

So I was wondering if this is happening to anyone else. If my time since last reboot is high(I am saying over 200hrs) and I use my camera it will stay running in the background. The only way I have found to cure it is to reboot.
