General :: App That Syncs Podcasts (and Music) With ITunes?

Jul 6, 2013

I desperately need an app that syncs podcasts (as well as music) between my S3 and iTunes. I hate it when I listen to a new podcast on my phone then get back to my pc to start a new one but can't remember which ones I've listened to. Is there a good app that checks off a podcast on my phone but also shows it checked off on my pc (in iTunes)?

HTC EVO 4G :: Pix - Video - Music & Other Files - Erasing From MicroSD?

Jun 21, 2010

It appears as if my Evo is erasing files from the Sandisk card that was pre-installed. For instance, I'll copy over wallpapers from my laptop last night & this morning, only half appear in that folder in the gallery. I'm wondering if this issue is somehow attributed to the update that was supposed to fix the "SD card" issue. I might just try re-formatting my card & see if that solves it.

HTC Desire : Have 1 Big List Of Music And Podcasts All Mixed

Jul 25, 2010

I thought this would be straight forward enough but its turned out a mess. What I did was I created a folder called Music on the memory card, then inside music I created more folders, so created one for my podcasts and dragged them out of itunes into the podcast folder, and did the same for all my itunes playlist, just created a folder for each playlist inside the music folders, However it didn't recognize my playlists and I just have 1 big list of music and podcasts all mixed through every shape, its a mess.

Android : Way To Keep Podcasts / Audiobooks From Playing In The Music App?

Apr 4, 2010

I don't think i'm using the right search terms or else no one else cares about this and it's just me i use doggcatcher for my podcasts. when i want to listen to music, i use the music app. but i have play all random, it pulls from the entire SD card, not just the music folder where i have the music. basically, it's just annoying to have the random music playing and then all of sudden a chapter from an audio book or a podcast starts playing, esp when i'm driving. i don't like having to mess with it then. i have also used it to sync with mediamonkey, but if i have more than one playlist that syncs (i have "favorites" and "recently added"), then i can only pick one playlist at a time to listen to. i can't figure out a way to make a smart playlist or anything like that on the eris. i even downloaded that cube 3 or whatever that was on Lifehacker recently - but that doesn't have anything either.

I want to keep itunes for now since I have my podcasts subscribed as I like them. I keep seeing that I should use isyncr if I want to continue to use itunes but do I need an SD card before I starting syncing my podcasts/music to my captivate? Or can't I just use the on board memory to store the podcasts/music?

Motorola Droid :: Damn Music App Picked Up Podcasts?

Aug 14, 2010

I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised, as any number of other highly improbable things were occurring but there we were, in the car, Droid plugged into the stereo, listening to MP3's, courtesy of the Music app, when a podcast started. At first I thought it was because the damn Music app picked up my podcasts that were in a different directory. Since we were at frequent complete stops anyway (Philthydelphia traffic), I looked at the infernal device and discovered that the Median app was playing a podcast - at the same time the Music app was playing music. I don't know if you can even do that on purpose, or why you'd want to, but there we are. Without any prompting whatsoever, I was getting two audio apps at the same time.

Media :: Android Music Player Won't Show Downloaded Podcasts

Apr 20, 2010

On my HTC Legend, when I download podcasts using Listen, BeyondPod, or Dpod, the downloaded .mp3 files are not visible on the android music player widget. Nor are they visible on btunes, even if I enable the audio books/podcasts features on btunes and hard-set the sdfolder path to where the .mp3 files are stored. On the music widget, I do see an empty "podcasts" playlist, but if I tell it to update, I get a "force close" error. Any ideas?

General :: Securely Erasing Android Phone

Mar 3, 2013

I am trying to get my phone ready to sell and I would never sell a computer hard drive without writing zeros to the drive so that my data could not be recovered. I can find no way to do this with my phone.

Recovering data off of a factory reset android is extremely easy (this guy does it in like 5 minutes):(I cant post links so go to gottabemobile dot com and search for the article "Security Guru: Don't Sell Your Android Phone Until Turning it into Swiss Cheese".)

the only semi reliable way to securely erase data would be to do a whole disk overwrite or a whole disk encryption (single file deletion or free space overwrite completely fails on SSD drives).(Search Google for this paper "Reliably Erasing Data From Flash-Based Solid State Drives." This was a study done at UC San Diego.)

I realize that the newer android operating systems have encryption, but I cannot verify if it is whole disk encryption, and if it is not whole disk (encrypting all of the free space on the drive) it would be useless for files that are already deleted (or overwritten considering how wear leveling works, there can be multiple copies of the file spread out over the drive). I could do a whole disk overwrite and then load the operating system back on from download mode?

General :: Erasing SD Card Before Sending Back To SanDisk?

Apr 26, 2014

I have spoken to SanDisk and have an RMA to send my 64 GB SanDisk Ultra Micro SD card back for a replacement.

I have tried pretty much everything I can... I have roughly 35GB of assorted Pictures, Movies, Music, and Videos on my SD card that I need to send back to SanDisk. I have no option to "Delete" anything thru windows. I've tried thru Dos and it tells me every file is dirty. I also get the file is locked. I've been able to overwrite the data and delete it thru my phone but it just reappears when the device is restarted. It's almost like all of the files are imprinted on the card and there is nothing that can be done.

Anyway, I've searched high and dry thru google and I've had no luck.

There are some pictures and other files on the SD Card that I would like others not to see, is there a way that I may not have tried to either delete these files or somehow corrupt the files? My laptop didn't recognize the SD card and wanted to format the remaining 25 GB but never got off of zero. Everything I run tells me the drive is dirty with the exception of CHKDSK

What SanDisk or other card companies do with returns like mine? Do they "test" or "review" the card and possibly look at what's on the card? Do they just toss it?

Android :: Moving From WM Phone To DroidX

Jul 24, 2010

I currently have a Windows Mobile phone in which I am heavily dependent on an application call Pocket Informant from a company called WebIS. It is a feature packed program that handles my Calendar/Contact/ToDo List. I find it much better than the built in Windows Mobile solution. Currently WebIS is developing a version of Pocket Informant for the Android OS. I am hoping that it will be out in August or September. In the mean time, I have purchased a DroidX and want to transfer all of my contacts, Calendar entries and Task (ToDos) over the DroidX. Can anyone offer help on the best way to do this? I would also be willing to purchased a third party app if it would make it easy and painless. I saw a program called Android Touchdown by Nitrodesk, but I am not sure that this would do want I need.
