View 1 Replies"Project Voodoo is an Open Source community effort to improve Galaxy S phones."Downloads are free, and do not require that your phone be rooted.I'm primarily interested in Voodoo color, since my phone does suffer from the blue tint. I'm wondering, for those people who have installed these Voodoo projects, what is your experience like.I have read some horror stories regarding lagfix, it may not have necessarily been the lagfix released by Voodoo, but I have heard about various problems such as phone starting to reboot by itself after installing lagfix, phone actually getting slower, and even bricking. I would like to know if these problems apply to Voodoo also. Anybody experience any of these issues with the Voodoo projects?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using a black htc hero and it got scratched recently. I'm thinking about getting a replacement cover but I've been told that the only ones available immediately are "urban brown covers" which I presume to be mocha covers. I've yet to see a mocha hero (other than in pics online) so I don't know if my hero will look weird with a mocha battery case. Is the color difference very obvious?

By default, android shows the selected view with background as orange. I want to show the view background color as red.
2. In the same way, I want the same behaviour should be applied to whole application.
I have seen this example:
@*android:color/secondary_text_light
What's that * asterisk doing there? What is the difference when using or not?

I'm looking for something that is similar to Javascripts "onMouseUp" or "onKeyUp" methods. An OnClickReleaseListener() perhaps?

I got a little textview defined in layout xml:
CODE:.........
As you can see the background color is "background_light" (this results in white color) and the text color is "primary_text_light" (this results in black color).
I would have thought that primary_text_light would result in a "light" color like white, not black ;-)
When i change "primary_text_light" into "primary_text_dark" the text color becomes color white.
Is this a bug in the naming of the default colors?
To give the user of my app an indication which field currently has the focus I am trying to change the background color of some of my fields depending on the current state, however, I am having troubles understanding Androids Color State List Resources:
There is this example at the bottom of http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/resources/color-list-resource.html. If I try exactly the same, i.e. if I want to adapt the textColor , things do work. However, if I try an only slightly different thing, namely to adapt the background color, things do not work and I don't understand why? Why is this so inconsistent?
To make it simpler to understand what I am trying to do, I append my misc. .xml files:
The AndroidManifest.xml file:
CODE:.........
If I run this as shown here, it works, i.e. I get a button whose text color changes depending on whether the button is focuses, pressed, etc.
If I uncomment the lower button, where I just flipped the attribute values for textColor and background I get an exception, stating
... <item> tag requires a 'drawable' attribute or child tag defining a drawable
What the heck am I missing here? Why is that color state list acceptable as a text color but not as a background color? How does one specify a view's background color depending on the view's state?
I'm trying to create a color picker for Android that looks like a minimalistic version of Gimp's. So, it has a hue slider and a rectangle with saturation/value variants of a color chosen in hue slider.
Question: what is the best way to create the rectangle?
Right now, I'm creating an 200x200 array of pixels, but it takes ~5sec to create and display rectangle with that array. And I need colors in rectangle to change whenever I change the value in hue slider...
Rectangle is bitmap, Can I use color matrices on that and how?
I have a HTC One with Kit Kat 4.4.2. Since the last update, I cannot see the status bar because it is white and the background on my wallpaper is white. Yes, I could change the picture, but I'd rather find a way to make the icons black or to make the status bar black with white icons. When I have an app open, the status bar is black with white icons. Why can't I get that on the home page? My phone is not rooted and I don't plan to do that.

I have looked in the droid developer website and XDA and haven't found the needed info. I also attached images so persons who may know can answer; some stuff I just wanted confirmed. I would like to change some settings title bar colors and some texts. The arrows point out what I need to change, and the fonts of what I want to change are underlined. This is for the droid charge, just so people know.
I have seen people put images in the title bar in settings so how to do this or has a link to anything about what i mentioned.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRight now I have tried a lot of options to get my Nook Color running CM7 to get internet access at work (buggy driver on B&N that doesn't work with our EAP settings), and none of my alternatives are good enough.
I was running my own access point from my computer but then the telecom guys told me to turn it off. Tried Bluetooth tether and that just doesn't work very well (it constantly drops connections).
So I want something seemingly very simple, but I can't find anything anywhere on how to do it. I want to plug my Nook into my computer and use that computer's internet connection. I imagine it can't be very difficult using ADB, but I can't find any information about it.

Preferably being able to load color profiles like sRGB or Adobe RGB directly. I'm not reffering to simple RGB settings or Gamma tweaking.
The reason I'm asking is that I work in 16 bit float mostly and got a perfectly calibrated IPS NEC nicely working with a 12bit LUT and also 2 calibrated TN panel screens.
The final image goes to 8bit PNGs and JPGs with sRGB embedded. Now the difference between the final outcome on the IPS screen and the TN ones and the one displayed on 4 different android mobile phones I got available for testing is extremely big. So big, that just everything is off. I thought that embedding color profiles might cause this but using other common profiles or none at all still were extremely off.
I'd like to point out that the image is not necessarily bad, it's just wrong knowing how the end result looks on perfectly calibrated monitors at home or at work.
I'm just surprised that there is close to no information available on how to properly view imagery with embedded profiles considering that the internet is full of fancy mobile phone screen tests and benchmarks nitpicking every single micro millimeter on a screen light years away from normal use conditions. (At least they don't take into account that probably 60-80% of the images average users view on their mobiles are crappily compressed Facebook .jpgs and the rest photographs shot on mobile cameras..but that's not what the thread is about.)
Is there really no way to counter factory presets? It's like with TVs on factory or even worse shop presets with shiny oversaturated colors and crushed contrasts, but on TVs you got the chance to turn the crap off at last.

How could I be able to change text color in buttons? From the image, I tried changing the boxed text from '<item name="textColor">@color/primary_text_holo_light</item>', and creating my own drawable xml file to link it with that. Color change seems successful, but it also affects other holo white buttons as well (see image). I don't want it to happen, for it renders those buttons unreadable.
