General :: NVFlash Files - How To Edit BCT File
Apr 28, 2012I am running some more tests and decided to take a different path for dual boot (for testing anyway, still gonna give it a go with bmp)... so to make a long story short, how do I edit the .bct file that comes with the nvflash zip??? I can edit the .cfg just fine but when I add my secondary partitions at the end of the line up and before UDB, the g2x doesnt seem to boot, like it just stays at the first lg logo and goes no further. I need access to the file to make it kick over. I think. Ive not been able to find out how to edit the file.. although I've not looked 110% as I usually do..
I am not even sure if I've named them right.. but hte way I see it they are all 3 characters in length.. so ive made the secondaries called APS, CAS, & UDS.. that also maybe my issue. but none the less ive attached a screen cap to show they were made and where they fall in the lineup.
General :: Possible To Get APX / NVFlash Working On Lenovo IdeaTab A2109?
Nov 4, 2013I've recently purchased a Lenovo IdeaTab A2109 Tegra 3 running 4.1.1 (build A2109_A411_03_13_121126_UK) running stock but with the bootloader unlocked via fastboot.
Last weekend I read about APX/NVFlash which (subject to the backup) gives my device a true bootrom recovery to allow me to restore my device in the case of a brick (handy for if I mess around with custom roms).
So far I've tried using both Windows 8 (with Nvidia generic drivers) and Linux Mint 15 (in a VM) but both have ended in failure producing the following errors:
Windows 8) "Unknown Device Found"
Linux) "Nvflash v1.5.66719 started
rcm version 0X4
Command send failed (usb write failed)"
Two theories I have right now are 1) I'm missing something e.g. firmware.bin, key, etc. or 2) NVFlash is incompatible with my tablet but the problem is I can only find information/specific software for other tablets e.g. Asus TF.
What I can try to get this working? I am able to get temporary root access via CWM and ADB if I need to get anything off the device.

Jan 11, 2012I am trying to create an sd-ext partiton so I can move applications and backup to that partition on my 4GB external SD card.
I've got ROM Manager 4.8.0.8 but when I select Partiton SD card it reboots and tries to reformat but I don't see anything on the Card just a LOST.DIR folder. I can't read the system messages when in Recovery mode cos it all happens so fast.
I tried via ADB and booted into recovery and selected the option to partition manually but still nothing. I reformatted the card with FAT32. Nothing.

Nov 6, 2012I am having some issues with my Verizon Samsung Galaxy Tab SCH-i800. So the first issue is i tried to install a stock ROM to fix a corrupted cache partition. Now it tries to boot US Cellular. As of this moment the error i get when i put the device in recovery mode goes as follows:

I am wondering if i can just create a new partition on a new SD card? i bought this device on ebay a couple weeks ago and i don't want to continue attempting sketchy leads for fear of hard bricking it. I am very good with performing commands via command prompt if that is necessary, also i have access to an Ubuntu 12.4 computer if that would make things easier? Also as far as i know this is equipped with android Froyo and the issue developed after the previous user attempted to update.

Jun 10, 2013I know people talk about this all the time... I found a lot of thread of how to create a flashable zip file.. But every thread has it different than others. So I have tried it several ways and still get errors...
I'm trying to make a flashable zip to push an apk to system/app and I decided to do this to test it out...
This is the update-script I have tested it with
run_program("/sbin/busybox", "mount", "/system");
delete("/system/app/FlashBarService.apk");
package_extract_dir("system", "/system");
run_program("/sbin/busybox", "unmount", "/system");
Ok what I figure is the run_program is to mount system with busybox. Every line i see that it have this on there.. Then Im trying to replace an app from system/app so I put in delete("/system/app/name of app");
then package_extract_dir("system", :/system"); is so recovery can extract and push the zip file
and again run_program to unmount... But recovery is giving me an error status 4
I also deleted that delete line and still got status 4.
Again this is another way I tried it to do it with

run_program("/sbin/busybox", "mount", "/cache");
run_program("/sbin/busybox", "mount", "/data");

And other folder on root system/app
I have a GS3.
Like I said I have followed several threads about this and all looks different and none worked.
I know this is supposed to be the easies thing to do when it comes to android. But I just need to be directed to the right path.
