I am new to Android, Google calendar and the Captivate phone. Have successfully imported my old calendar to Google Calendar which initially synced with the calendar on my captivate. However, when I add a new event to my phone calendar, it does not automatically show up on the Google calendar. the Samsung rep told me I have to edit each new even to mark it as a "Google Calendar". Is there any way to make this the default option on the Captivate phone? I am hoping to have automatic syncronization b/t the phone and the Google calendar without having to force it to do so each time.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use Google Apps, and use several separate calendars. Problem is, if I don't create my event on the right calendar in the first place, I can't figure out how to move it later to the correct calendar.
I can do it in the web interface, just not in the Calendar app.
I just bought a new phone and have started using the stock Android calendar. I put in my work schedule as a recurring series...M,W,Th,F at the same time every week. I am taking a Friday off in a few weeks, so I went to delete that event only and there is NO option to delete just that day. My options are "This & future events" or "All events". I also tried Jorte calendar app at the recommendation of a Verizon employee and it is doing the same thing. There has to be a setting or something I am missing. I should not have to re-input all my data every time I take a day off. My old phone gave me the option to delete "This event only".
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I program a event in the calendar, with reminder (for example 15 minutes before event), the phone ring at the correct time. In notification bar, an icon appear and when I "click" on it, I can choice "ignore" or "later" (i'm not sure of the translation, because my ROM is in french).
But the problem is that's impossible to choice the time for the next alarm. If I click on "later", the phone re-ring 5 minutes later.
Is it possible to modify something to permit to choice the time for the next alarm ? (in system files, build.prop or other place) ?
That works in widows mobile 6.5: when reminder occurs, a menu permit to repeat in 1, 5, 10, 15, 30 minutes or more.
If possible, I prefer not install another calendar application, but if base calendar application cannot be modified to have this option, could you give me name of application which permit it ?
I am running jellybean 4.2.2 and i used stock calendar and google calendar and they wont alarm when i make any appointment.. and there is no notification of the event. i also tried to use many calendar app from playstore but they also wont alarm...
I tried to use calendar snooze and it alarm any event i used but i want to use only my calendar and no 3rd party app.
Is there a way to be notified when a calendar event is added to a shared calendar? I love using the shared calendar, but I sometimes overlook new events that were added by others.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Google and Facebook events show on my EVO's calendar. Since I keep a tight FB friends list, I don't mind the b-days showing. However, I said I'd be attending an online event from a FB contact that was set up as a daily thing for 7 hours and as a result, I've got it spamming my calendar view with four months worth of meetings. I went to FB and removed the event from my list there and went to the event page and said I wouldn't be attending, but even when I force sync the calendar, it's still showing up. Only turning off FB calendars entirely removes it, but the birthdays go with the bathwater. Is there any way to clear this that I'm overlooking?

The reason I ask this is that the sync feature of the google calendar only seems to be a one-way sync. If I enter a event on the website calendar it goes to my phone OK. If I enter a event on my phone it never shows up on the website calendar.

No problem with appointments / events created on desktop syncing down to phone. Problem Identification: Default calendar when creating appointment / event on phone was calendar called "Phone". There is no calendar on desktop called "Phone". Solution: Pick different calendar when creating an appointment / event on your phone.

I would REALLY like to have my Outlook calendar (at minimum) pushed/synchronized to my phone. Is there an app or a way to configure this to work? Right now I am using the Outlook Web Mobile app for my email and I can view my calendar there but I would like schedule/calendar all in one place.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to sync my Calendar and Contacts from Outlook to the Incredible. For multiple reasons, going from Outlook to Gmail to Incredible is not an option for me. I installed HTC Sync and was able to get all 800+ of my contacts to the Incredible. But the Sync keeps failing when it tries to move my Calendar over. I've left the default setting to sync future appointments and 20 days before today. Sometimes the HTC Sync software seems to freeze, but most times it does connect to the phone but eventually gives me a timeout/failed to connect message. I've tried rebooting both PC and phone but the problem persists. Running Outlook 2007 on XP SP3 machine. Running HTC Sync 2.0.25 that came on the phone (as apparently there isn't a version for Incredible avail to d/l from HTC support yet).

However when i go to my S3 and make sure that my account settings are syncing the calendar i only see items i have entered and not the subscription items. Is this how its supposed to work?
View 1 Replies View RelatedOk,so this problem is getting really annoyed for the past 2 months,my Samsung android phone simply doesn't connect to google plus,that means my google play doesn't load.My phone is a Samsung Galaxy Young S6310.When i start Google Plus app,its simply stuck at Connecting...but after some HOURS,it's says Cannot connect to servers.In google play store,the main page loads quickly,but when i try to search or select an app,its simply STUCK at the spinning circle,i leaved it for about 4 hours loading,but still nothing. The download manager isnt turned off and i restarted my phone and cleared data from google play several times. tl;dr : google play doesnt load neither google plus.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using an android smartphone(galaxy y) and didn't have any issue until Thursday(20/9/2012) . google play is not loading in my laptop(connected through broadband) , nor on my phone (connected to internet via wifi ) and i have another laptop which is connected through a modem. On both the laptops when i go to google play it just keeps loading for a minute or two and then shows "webpage not available" On my android when i go to google play it says "no connection" . I have tried restarting the phone but it didn't work.

View 7 Replies View RelatedToday, I managed to sync. my Lotus Notes calendar with google calendar (after 2 days of turmoil)Then the notes events were displayed on google calendar but 6 hours ahead (like GMT) thought both calendars were set on the same time zone (CST).At this point, the calendar pad widget synced with google calendar and displayed all my lotus notes events 6 hours ahead as in the google calendar.I then changed my google calendar time zone to GMT so that my lotus notes events showed the correct time .But now, the calendar pad widget still shows the old google calendar events that was 6 hours off even after syncing.Can some one please help configure such that my lotus notes , google calendar and calendar pad widget all show the same events at same time (hopefully, maintaining the same time zone settings for all)

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm a new Droid Eris user and have been using Google Calendar for some time.I have a single calendar set up which is syncing with the Eris.I can successfully add/edit/delete entries from both applications and have them show up just fine on the other side.I have a couple of recurring entries that I've since deleted in Google Calendar but are still showing up on my Eris.The unique thing about both of these entries is that they were meeting requests sent to my Gmail address and accepted from there.They have since been cancelled from the original sender and are now removed from my Google Calendar.My calendar entries are labeled as dark blue, and these two show as light blue.I cannot select them on the Eris to edit or delete them.

But I was recently having some GMail syncing issues and during the troubleshooting for that I uninstalled the latest GMail update and reinstalled it. As a result, GMail is now doing audible notificatrion sounds for new email when before I only had notification in t he notification bar. I can't seem to get it turned off. I still want calendar events and texts to sound so I don't want to silence the phone but I want email and GMail to be silent (Notification icon only).

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecent switcher to Android and owner of brand new Galaxy S4 here. I have two separate Gmail accounts, one for work and one for home. Each has its own Google Calendar. Both accounts are linked to my phone.
However, I want separate apps on my GS4 to handle each Google calendar. My phone came with S Planner and I have added Google Calendar App (GCA) from the Play store.
On S Planner I choose to display the home account calendar - no problems so far. I then switch to GCA and choose to display the work account calendar. Great. However, and this is my problem, these apps now seem to be 'linked', such that when I then go back into S Planner from GCA it is now displaying the work account calendar instead of the home calendar.
In other words, changes in one app seem to be mirrored in the other app. Is there any way around this, so that each app only displays one account calendar?
I kept getting annoyed at having to load the Calendar to have to add an event, so I built a one-tap-add-event app which you can put on the home screen.

Add reminder
Delete Event
Share vCalendar
Agenda
But no "Edit Event". In order to edit an event I have to long press while in the Agenda or Day View listing. Anyone else noticed this? I swore on 2.1 "Edit Event" was an option.
Is there an app or plug-in that would change the notification for calendar event reminders to a pop-up instead of in the notification bar? (like Handcent handles notification of new text messages)

After buying my lovely HTC Desire two weeks ago I'm now trying to start using my phone as an organizer/agenda.
Unfortunatly I really have sucky memory (hence I need to use the agenda from my phone) and thus I actually have NO idea what date it is today and everytime I goto the add event dialog I forget to look at the calendar what day it curently is (let alone tomorrow!).
Since the default app only has those anoying slider/slotbars to pick the date for an event... I keep placing events on the wrong date! :@
I've been trying to find a replacement app but the only two I've found so far (Jorte and Gemini) have the same anoying dialog to add an event!
All the other 'apps' I find when looking for android calendar apps are widget-only!!
Anyone knows a way to get a datepicker or something like that into the calendar app or a different app?
Maybe at least display the name of the day when creating a new event?
Using my Palm TX I am able to add a note to an event. I use this a lot. Can I do the same in the Desire Calendar? I cannot find this in teh manual.
