I have a ListView whose rows are formatted by me. Each row has a mix of ImageView and TextView. I have also implemented my own adapter and am able to draw each row through it.
Now, I would want something like this-
User clicks on an ImageView (not anywhere else on the row, but only this ImageView should respond to clicks)
I get to know the position of the row whose ImageView was clicked.
I have tried many things for this and have wanted my code to be as efficient as possible (in terms of overkill).
Currently i can capture the click event on that particular ImageView only, but I can't know which row was clicked.
I have provided an attribute in the Row XML like this-
CODE:..................
And in my code, I have a method like this:
CODE:..............
I can get the parent row (perhaps) but am not sure how to go further from here.

I have an issues, I want to show 20 items in the list.
But there is a catch: if the user scrolls down to the bottom of the list, there will be an item that says: "Show more items", and when the users click on it, more items will be added to the list.
My question is how is poosible to have a last item, that has a different style and looks different: and does different things,(I think this is used in QuickSearchbox)

I have a ListActivity where the list items are defined in another XML layout. The list item layout contains an ImageView, a CheckBox, a TextView and such.
What I want is to set an onClick listener to the CheckBox in each list item. That is easy enough. The trouble is I need that onClick handler to know which position in the list it is.
I'm attaching the listener to the CheckBox in getView after that convertView has been inflated. The getView method has a position parameter, but I cannot reference it in the onClick handler for my CheckBox. I understand why, but I don't know how to get around it. How do I accomplish this?

I know I'm not the only person that gets emails with embedded html or inlined images via google mail. When I get emails like this, I have to click on "Show HTML" or "Show Picture" every single time an email comes in if I actually want to see the email the way it was intended to be shown. I know for a fact that iphones and other email readers dont have any issues with this. Is there a setting to automatically display the email the way it was meant to be shown instead of having to click these buttons each time I want to view the email correctly? Or, perhaps there's already a market app that forces the android email client to display emails correctly?

This should be a simple question because I couldn't get the answer from Google . I have ListView in a LinearLayout . I need to handle the click event to allow user click on the LinearLayout to trigger some function. I try to add onClickListener to the LinearLayout , and it works only when I click outside of the ListView . How do I let the click event on ListView propagate automatically to be handled by the Listener of the LinearLayout?

I was curious if there was a way that I can assign each menu item in a ListView its ID from the SQLite database, so that when I do something like onClick, or using a ContextMenu, I can tell what item / row I am referencing to.

I've got a ListView where each item in the list is contains several controls. One of the items is a checkbox, and I can check/uncheck it without problems. The other items are some TextViews and a WebView. I've got autoLink turned on and linksClickable turned on, but I can't get links to fire up the browser when I click on them. This applies to both TextView and WebView. I've tried changing the parent to a GridView instead of a ListView, playing with setFocusable(), and all that, but to no avail.
Is it even possible to have interaction on the TextView-based elements of a row in a ListView? It seems like that *should* be possible, but I've been banging my head against this problem for a few weeks with no progress. What's the secret?

I found this blog:

As I mentioned in the email subject, I want to select an item (e.g. Department of Human Resource Management) in my ListView. And you can see that: I had try to use setClickable(true), setChoiceMode(ListView.CHOICE_MODE_SINGLE), setFocusable(true), setFocusableInTouchMode(true), no matter I use touch screen to click on the item or use the scroll ball on my mouse to select the item, it also doesn't work. Is there any mistakes in my coding? I hope someone can give me some ideas what I should do. because I am a beginner for developing Android application.
And the following is my coding: package com.example.abc;.............
