Android :: Pure Calendar Confusion

Jan 27, 2010

I'm new to the forums. I just got my Droid in the mail today. I bought the Pure Calendar Grid widget, however I'm having problems figuring it out. Every time I click on a date it brings up the settings. Is there not a way to make it pop up with the details from that day?

Android :: Pure Calendar Widget Updates Instantly Despite Update Frequency

May 3, 2010

I started using Pure Calendar today and love it.here is a "Select Update Frequency" setting that can change from 6 hours to "When Calendar is Modified."I left mine on 6 hours to begin with, but I have noticed that when I modify my Exchange or my Google Calendar (on my phone OR on my computer), the Pure Calendar widget updates almost instantly.Anybody know why? Is it a bug in the Widget? Or is it supposed to update the Widget instantly despite being set to 6 hours?

HTC Incredible :: Pure Calendar Widget - No Tasks Showing

Sep 8, 2010

I finally got the Calendar to load everything into the Pure Calendar Widget, but the widget is supposed to also include all of my tasks from my Got To Do - but none of my tasks are in the widget?

I selected Got To Do in the Task section of the widget setup, included all tasks with and without folders...

Any ideas why I can't see any of my tasks in the widget? (and I already checked, based on the timetable and when things are due some of the tasks should be there now)

HTC Droid Eris :: Missing Pure Calendar From Market

Mar 29, 2010

I'm not the only one experiencing the problem. Anyone talk with the DEV yet? Just curious he has an idears or anyone here has come up with anything.AppBrain was able to add it to my list online, but when I sync'd on my phone and selected it, all it does is launch the Market app with a search term for that app, so it doesn't show up.This kinda makes me think that 2.1 #2 is not final.

Android :: Android Agenda Widget Vs Pure Calendar Widget

Sep 10, 2010

I've been looking for an agenda tool/widget for my Android phone. I've narrowed it down to these two (PLEASE don't post suggesting other alternatives!! And note that I don't mean the Pure Grid version!). I've been searching for half an hour, but I can not find anything that compares these 2 apps or shows any diffs between them. The best I've seen is comments like " beats hands down", with no explanation as to WHY.As far as I can see, for my purposes (using Google Calendar & Astrid), the only difference between the 2 is the PRICE! Both come in numerous widget sizes, both integrate with Astrid & Google, both are scrollable, both are skinnable. So why choose one over the other? (Or, really, why choose Pure Calendar over Android Agenda, given that the latter is free?) I wish I could just test both out but the Pure widget series has no demos

Android :: Send Attachment Of Package - OpenGL ES Confusion

Aug 24, 2009

I am new to Android and OpenGL world. I've created a new app using openGL ES. (I am not able to find a option to send attachment of package to group, so that you can see my code and suggest me where i made a mistake). Android Simulator LCD size is 320 x 455 and i've set same size for OpenGL Viewport. But For creating visible rectangle i've to use vertices, which are of very high value.

int vertices[] = { -20000,-20000,0,
-20000,20000,0,
20000,20000,0,
20000,-20000,0

Android : Application Use Of Haptics - When To Enable / Disable - Minimizing Confusion

Dec 11, 2009

Is there a general guideline for application developers about when to disable haptic responses? I know there are ways to enable/disable long-press haptics, but if an application was created to use haptic feedback for other events are there guidelines that application developers should follow? For example, if the user was to go into Settings->Sound & display -> Haptic and set that to OFF, should all applications refer to this setting as a rule of thumb?

From and end user point of view, I would like to have global control of haptic feedback especially if I find it to be annoying. I have seen several postings in the android forums looking for a "global override" to haptic responses. Ultimately, I think it is a question of should each application provide a menu to enable/disable haptic support, or should this be more of a global Setting for the device.

I personally feel applications should refer to the global setting, but would like to get feedback from other developers about this. Reference postings I was referring to: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-general-discussions/6812-hapti... http://androidforums.com/samsung-moment/13633-how-do-you-disable-vibr.

Android :: Confusion With Activity Stack And Restoring State / Whats Wrong?

Jan 11, 2010

I have a start activity page for my game (which is the root activity for my app) that just lists "Play", "Help", and "About" TextViews on the screen. Each TextView has a click listener which start the appropriate Activity for each. The GameActivity (started with explicit intent from clicking "Play") has onSaveInstanceState implemented to save state of the game. Its onCreate checks for non- null Bundle to restore this state. My problem is this:

1. Turn on Phone/Emulator 2. start my game with icon in launcher 3. Start page is displayed 4. click "Play" to start my GameActivity 5. play game for a few seconds 6. click home 7. state is saved (proven with debugger calling onSaveInstanceState) 8. start my game with the icon in launcher 9. start page is displayed

I was under the impression that by clicking the app icon from the launcher that my existing task activity stack would be restored with my GameActivity being on top and its onCreate being called for me to restore the state I saved. Instead I am getting a brand new instance of my start page. Also, if I long press home and choose my running game icon, then my game comes back exactly as I left it. However, this apparently is NOT using my onCreate restore state logic as onCreate is never called.

All of the documentation seems to say that the entire stack of activities will be restored when clicking the application icon from the launcher, but I just get a fresh instance. What might I be doing wrong?

Android :: How To Get Current Pure UTC Time?

Aug 25, 2010

I need to get pure UTC time in application level. It should not be changed by user or location or anything else. When I try with System.currentTimeMillis() or getTime() of Date class, they always return value of local time. If user change date or time, the return value is also changed. I found handleEndOfInit method in android_modem.c (externalqemu elephony) and the method is like below. Probably, the variable "utc" is what I want.

1. Is the android_modem.c for emulator?? 2. If it is, I think there must be similar file for target. Where is it? 3. How can I get the "utc" value in my application?................

Android :: Entering Mobile Development - Pure IPhone SDK - Mono Touch Or Titanium

Apr 16, 2010

I am entering mobile development. I have been working primarily in .NET since 1.0 came out in beta. Before that, I was mostly a C++ and Delphi guy and still dabble in C++ from time to time. I do web apps quite a bit so I am reasonably proficient with Javascript, JQuery and CSS. I have also done a few Java applications. I started web programming with CGI and live mostly in the ASP.NET MVC world these days.

I am trying to decide on which platform/OS and tool to select. I am concerned with the size of the market available for my applications as well as the marketibility of the skills I will pick up.

The apps I have in mind would work on both phones and pads. Some aspects of what I have in mind will play better on the bigger screens that will be available on pads.

Here are the options I am considering:

Apple iPhone/iPad using pure Apple SDK (Objective-C)
Apple iPhone/iPad using Mono Touch (C#)
Android using pure Android SDK (Java)
Multiple platforms using something like Titanium to generate native apps from web technologies (HTML, CSS and Javascript)
Multiple platforms using HTML5 web applications that run in the browser (HTML, CSS and Javascript).

Android :: Ghost Calendar Entries Showing Up In Calendar / Not In Google Calendar

Nov 10, 2009

I'm a new Droid Eris user and have been using Google Calendar for some time.I have a single calendar set up which is syncing with the Eris.I can successfully add/edit/delete entries from both applications and have them show up just fine on the other side.I have a couple of recurring entries that I've since deleted in Google Calendar but are still showing up on my Eris. The unique thing about both of these entries is that they were meeting requests sent to my Gmail address and accepted from there. They have since been cancelled from the original sender and are now removed from my Google Calendar. My calendar entries are labeled as dark blue, and these two show as light blue.I cannot select them on the Eris to edit or delete them.

General :: Port Pure Google System Apps From Other Device To MTK6589 Phone

Sep 9, 2013

I have a Chinese clone of Galaxy S4 called No.1 S6 with MTK6589 Cpu and Android 4.2.1 (Odexed Rom), well, I tried to replace some system app like contacts, phone and mms with the same apps taken from the Slim bean 4.2.2 Rom for the Google Nexus 4 that has the same screen resolution.

I odexed the slim bean apks with dexopt-wrapper as explained here [URL] ...., I signed them with auto-sign software, so I put them into system/app folder with right permissions, deleting old apks first, rebooted the phone, wiped cache in recovery and when the phone booted the apk I replaced was gone, so I think there's a compatibility problem between my system apps and nexus 4 ported apps, maybe I have to take the slim bean (or other ROMS, whatever) sources and edit the apks and make them compatible with my phone...

How to port system apps from other devices with different software?
