Games will start on a rolling basis, consisting of 10 players at a time who must answer 20 questions per game, for quetion and logic for game it's ready , now my main part multplayer , what i need exactly:

3. within the game, each player's score update it in real game.

4. you can click name of player to take you to that player's stats page.

Android :: Multiple Choice Dialogs - Activities

Apr 26, 2010

I have tried to make a series of dialogs, like a questionnaire, that the user needs to answers a series of questions selecting one or more checkboxes. I can do one, just fine, but when I try to make more than one question (lets say 10), it does not show, or show all the dialogs. I tried using dialogs or new acitivities.

So, my problem is I have multiple questions, one to be presented each time, and I need to wait for one to be responded so I can ask the next one. How do I accomplish this?

My first attempt was with a dialog box... but obviously it got all the boxes stacked in each other:

Android :: Multiple Choice List With Custom View

Apr 16, 2010

I've seen example com.example.android.apis.view.List11 from ApiDemos. In that example, each row takes the view android.R.simple_list_item_multiple_choice. Each such view has a TextView and a CheckBox.

Now I want each view to have 2 TextView's and 1 CheckBox, somewhat similar to the List3 example. I tried creating a custom layout file row.xml like this:

CODE:...............

Then in Activity.onCreate(), I do like this:

CODE:..................

The result kind of looks like what I want, but it looks like the list doesn't know which item of it is selected. Also, I need to click exactly on the checkbox. In the List11 example, I only need to click on the item row.

So what do I need to do to make a multiple choice list with my custom view for each row?

Android :: Multiple-choice List From The Sqlite Database In Android

I'm new to Android programming, and I wanted to pull list options from a column of the SQLite database for the user to select. How would I go about doing this? Like, say the database table to be read is called countries, and the columns were ID, country, and capital. How would I let the user pick from the list of capitals and have the application return the information in that row?

Android :: App To Make It Possible To Have Multiple Ringtones?

Jan 19, 2010

I hope my question makes sense...
but to break it down, while trying to pick just one ringtone I thought of how cool it would be to be able to select several ringtones and have the phone play one upon an incoming call. Either a song/ringtone is selected at random or they are cycled through...am I making sense?

I'm new here, I've had the Droid for over a month but just now trying to pimp it out a little. So I apologize if this has been asked before (tried searching).

Android :: Display A Dialog Box For Making A Choice Before A CALL Is Processed In Droid?

May 30, 2010

I would like to intercept outgoing calls and pass them to a VOIP application. I see that the Google Voice application has a feature for displaying a question before each call is actually initiated. It provides the user with the choice:

Initiate call via Google Voice
Initiate call via standard call

I would like a way to do something similar with my application (so that not all calls have to be routed through it). At the moment, I can intercept CALL events via a BroadcastReceiver, however, these are not allowed to open dialogs (thus making it possible to display the choice).

What is the best way of achieving this goal?

What is the BT earpiece of choice that seems to work well with the Droid? For some reason, people say they couldn't hear me (as if the BT muted itself out on its on); Its been disconnecting itself from the phone but it still shows its connected in the Notification window. Today it kept going from BT to phone and vice versa in the middle of a call! I was like the what in the world is going on! LOL! It has a good charge so I know thats not the issue. Maybe its time for a new BT earpiece! What should I consider?

Android :: Make ScrollView With A RelativeLayout With Multiple Child Layouts Fill The Screen

I have a layout that has just a ScrollView visible. It has a relative layout as its child. This layout has several other layouts (mainly text views) as its children. When the text is not big enough, the scroll view does not expand itself to fit the whole screen. Instead, it shows a gap at the bottom where the background shows. I tried setting fillViewPort=true on the ScrollView, but that just made the first child layout (RL1) to fill the screen.

Android :: Getting Key From ListPreference

But the PreferenceActivity only writes the values to SharedPreferences. How do I get the key of the item selected from the list? I would have thought this is pretty fundamental, especially if you want to translate your app.

Let's say the user is choosing between red, blue, and green. When the listpreference dialog first pops-up, the dialog only shows a cancel button. Because of that, the dialog disappears as soon as the user selects their choice. I would like it so that when the user chooses their setting, they see the radio button get highlighted and then they go ahead and click the ok button...but I don't have an ok button and can't figure out why.

Android :: Display Current Value Of XML ListPreference

Mar 6, 2010

I have an XML preferences screen which is handled by addPreferencesFromResource. On it, there is a ListPreference, for which I want the summary to contain the current value of that preference. I think this would be a common requirement, as otherwise you could not see the present value of the preference without expending a click. I read that the summary field supports resource references, and I see that I can refer to preferences as android:summary="@+preference/prefname" in my ListPreference. Clearly this is why resource references would be supported in this field. However, when I try this, instead of the present value of prefname, the text "false" appears as the summary. Does anybody know how to display a current value without taking the seemingly ridiculous step of rewriting the entire (large) preference screen in Java?

Android :: ListPreference In Preference View

Jan 17, 2010

This is my first Android app (which is a soft keyboard, with dvorak layout) and so far it has gone pretty smoothly (either because or despite working from the sample code). I've had some problems (with special/swedish characters) that I've managed to take care of, but this problem I can't figure out how to solve..

But when I click the list item to edit it, i get an empty dialog (Title and button is shown right and with the text I set in the xml- file, but no list, screenshot: http://i49.tinypic.com/2501p55.png ). I can't see any problem with the program code (which isn't many lines..) or the xml (the arrays are generated by the Android utils in Eclipse and the preferences is a mix of auto and manual). You can see both Java code and XML here: http://pastebin.com/m4c52c3a2 (titles etc in Swedish..) (I've also tried a EditTextPreference item, which seemed to work fine..) I have also looked at the log/output using adb, and can't see any problems there either, so I have no idea onto how to solve this.
