Has anyone heard of any apps in the pipeline for Virgin Media UK (like the SKY app) where i can set up and record programs?
I have done a search and the only reference i can see is a company called Pushbutton. There are no dates or external links though.

I am trying to set up my email account with Virgin Media on my Desire but I can`t get the settings right, it`s a pop account, I can receive mail but I can`t send it. I`m with Three mobile but my phones unlocked, When I connect via wifi to my home it sends ok, but this seems a bit pointless when I`m away from home.

It's about android.media.MediaRecorder. I want to implement a feature to record the conversation, both voice from speaker and microphone. But I tried on G1 phone, the Media Recorder only could record the voice from microphone. I looked into the Android doc, there are only two audio sources, MIC and DEFAULT (either to record microphone). So these are my questions: 1. whether can I implement it or not? 2. will more audio sources be supported? If so, which release or when?

View 3 Replies View Related( I am a new Captivate convert from blackberry) and trying to find my way through.My sd card ( 32 gig kingston) is recognized by windows ( when attached to usb) and recognized by astro file reader , and winamp etc.yet the built in voice recorder and video player will not run and I get erroro message.Your phone does not have an SD card inserted.I didnt format the card originally since the phone recognized the card without it

So I have a method that initializes and configure the Media Recorder object in order to start recording. Here you have the code:

headphone jacks can accept corded headsets with microphones with 3 "contact points" on the plug so you can plug in the corded headset to listen to audio, plus speak through the in-line microphone for calls. So it would seem possible but I can't find anything that says if it can or not

View 9 Replies View Relatedi'm big into freestyling. i have over 1500 instrumentals on my phone.i can't figure out how to play them and record myself (either audio or video) at the same time.i figure i'm either gonna have to download a new music player that won't close or a video/audio recorder that won't close the "Music" player that came with my evo.and before anyone goes tryin to be smart, i realize that even if i was able to accomplish such an action the quality would probably be really low due to speaker and mic being so close.my intent is more of a "on the fly lyric composition" rather than a " put myself on youtube to show everyone how awesome i am"

I've just tried:
Settings | Applications | Manage Apps
And noticed there's not always an option to Uninstall on these and some others.
Is it possible to remove, delete, uninstall, or get them off the device?
Is there any way to remove the pre-installed Sprint programs?

Are there some "core apps" or "core programs" that can't be removed?
A brief search on this matter on related threads seems to indicate only on "rooted" phones.
I'm wondering if there is a way (or app) to password protect individual apps/programs.Sometimes I hesitate to let my friends try out my phone, because it means they have full access to my text msgs, emails, facebook, etc. I'd like to password protect JUST those apps.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI switched my SMS to Handcent to resolve the battery issue. The tutorial I followed recommended reinstalling Hero's battery after doing all the software stuff. I took this to mean "take it out and put it back in." Well, I did that and it worked for the battery issue, but when I went to my "all programs" a bunch of my apps were listed twice (facebook, some games, etc). I dragged and removed the extra apps but every time I come back to all programs, they are still listed twice. Weird, I know. This isn't a drastic problem, but it is annoying esp if it keeps happening to additional programs.

I have 2 questions about the All Programs screen ......
Is there a way to re-arrange the order of the way the apps are arranged on this page ? If so, how?
Secondly, how can I remove apps off of the All Programs screen ? I know that apps that I download from The Market will disappear once they have been 'uninstalled', but what about anything else such as "Amazon MP3", "Visual Voicemail", "Stocks", etc. ?
These are things (apps listed above ) I have NO interest in, but they crowd up my All Programs screen and force me to do a lot more scrolling (due to not being able to re-arrange my most used apps on this page, SO FAR).
Anyone know of any apps or media players that have a sound equalizer? Speakers on my Motorola Cliq aren't great and at full volume the speakers pop because of the bass on some songs. Equalizer would be great so I can turn the bass down as the Cliqs speakers cant handle it.

I tried to use beutiful widgets or some other widgets but my processing power gets high (also battery usage) and force close messages are make me nuts.
But then I thing it must related to ram issues (after copilot usage) becouse we have limitted ram.. my firend have a hero and she uses copilot faster like google maps...
So I installed root required memory programs like autokiller & minfreemanager.. and readjust memory values...

When I make this changes my app launcher and other programs works faster than before and the transitions are better much better than before and less force closes...
I write it becouse I am very happy now... & just kind of information for the pros ...
Also I found problems ( no widgets or apps running behind) looking from System pannel monitoring is off
- Auto Brightness option doesn't work after restart (stays same)
- when Orientation option is selected the battery consumption is more or much more (maybe calculation)
- when the Bluetooth wifi and gps options are seleceted (means open) battery consuption or calculation is less than close...
- Bluetooth stereo has problems... buttons play pause not working stable
- Wifi doesn't connect after disconnected for a while... (screen policy set to when screen turns off)
Also advanced launcher is buggy ..
if drakaz can install adw launcher .... I am very happy ( also we can able to update it from market) becouse if i use it or other launchers dial pad contact list comes later or take time...
Android keybord don't have Turkish characters like Ş,Ğ, I, ş, ğ, ı if it's possible it is very good for us to have...
Are there any stand alone eq apps or good media players with an eq for the Android as I could not find any in the app store? I also simply typed in eq into the search here and it came back with nothing.
