The only app so far I've noticed to be missing in the market since I've installed the latest RUU 2.1 leak for the Hero is Pure Calender Widget (Agenda). I've tried scanning a QR code and it wouldnt work.
I completed a root last night (after a ton of help from the board - thanks again!) my only thing is i am missing navigation. any idea how to restore this? i attempted to follow flips tutorial for adding missing apps, but had no success. any ideas? is there an easy way to do this? via command prompt?
I had Shooter Lite (a free ballistics app) on stock Hero. Then I wiped and flashed Fresh. Now that app won't show up in the market for me.I know I read something about apps not showing up if the ROM is not "signed" by Google, or something. But the zip from Fresh 2.1.2 ends with "_signed_release". So what do you do to get missing apps to show up?
I am trying to ascertain if the missing apps problem is a phone problem or a network issue. Anyone here running stock Hero 1.5 able to download Weatherbug Elite, Camera Zoom FX or tapatalk? I was told by our network that when we get 2.1 they will appear, but if I remember right there were folks here running stock Hero 1.5 on Sprint who had them.
I did a hard reset and then upgraded my firmware. I then went to re-install all of my previous applications and noticed that some were missing from "My Downloads". I then went and did a search to locate them in the marketplace and got no return, as if the application doesn't exist any more.
Today i have been having some fun today downloading and yes buying (!) apps from the mkt. well, i started getting a little instability - i couldn't get an IP from my wireless router --- i had d/l "wifi keep alive" and "wifi reconnect" and "wifi reassociation". so i went to the mkt intending to uninstall one by one until i restored my ability to DHCP to the router. selecting the "downloads" section of the mkt revealed only about two pages worth of apps. believe me - i have a LOT more apps than that! mostly all the apps that appear are purchased apps (one exception - gmail is there too) - but even then, not "all" of my purchased apps are there! in doing my due dilligence checking to see if anyone else had this problem and solved it, i found this thread and this thread - neither of which have anything to say to help me. ANY idea how to get my apps to show up in the mkt? the apps themselves ARE STILL ON MY hero, they just don't appear in the mkt)
I searched up Android 2.1 on Google and I Found a website with Sprint Hero - 2.1 leaked! "Website: Sprint HTC Hero Android 2.1 Upgrade Leaked" Rumors have been flying around the web about Spring releasing an official Android 2.1 upgrade for their HTC Hero mobile phone. The dates for the Android 2.1 upgrade for the Spring HTC Hero have been speculated to be either on April 29th, and others simply by the end of April. But according to BlogsDNA.com, hackers at XDA Developers forum have leaked a Sprint HTC Hero test ROM marked: RUU_Hero_C_Sprint_2.20.651.1_signed_test The stands for Radio Unit Update, and is a common package that HTC phones of all kinds use, from Windows Mobile Phones to Android Roms.Without a doubt, the remaining days in the month of April building up to be full of high profile mobile phone announcements.Expected this month (April) are the HTC Incredible and Nexus One at Verizon, and now this, the Sprint HTC Hero Android 2.1 upgrade. Rumors were also spreading about a possible iPhone / Verizon deal being announced. We ve already had the iPhone OS 4.0 announcement. And of course, I would be remiss to leave out the iPad announcement from Apple.
To all you rooted Sprint Hero developers and users, I found this over at Android Spin. I myself have a droid, so I can't test this out for you but surely one of you owners can give this leaked 2.1 a spin. Just click on the link Android 2.1 for Sprint Hero leaked | AndroidSPIN | Your No.1 source for Android news.
The version below is the Signed RUU, flashing this version can cause you to lose your root access. RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting User at your own risk! Rooted users, if you flash this. You will lose your root! I suggest you wait for a dev and non-dev to come out with your fav ROM. The version below you can flash on your phone so you won't lose your Root.
Just found them in a thread about a possible 2.1 dump into the hands of the European Hero devs over at the XDA forum. Check them out:
Hero Android 2.1 Hero Build Screenshots
Remember, 2.1 is supposed to have native CDMA support built in. This means, theoretically, that if the Euro 2.1 ROM is released, devs *should* be able to cook up a ROM and release it for our Sprint Heros possibly sooner than expected! Assuming root will be required...
I have been missing many calls from my Hero more than any other Sprint phone I owned, has anyone experienced this issue? not even a ring, full bars of signal strength and goes to voicemail at times, not all the time but my wife says it happens a lot when she tries to contact me, any suggestions folks? I read some stuff about the Slot Index would this solve my issue? or would I be best to root my phone since I am still stock?
I want to use speech to text which I thought was going to be in this update. I installed Better Keyboard and Swipe keyboard. I enabled both in the settings (they are checked), but when I click the options button on the keyboard and try to select a keyboard, I only get the 3 standard options (QWERTY, Phone, Compact QWERTY). Any ideas why?
I have just installed the villain 5.4 rom, which is great. i backed my apps using appmonster & have reinstalled them. however none of these reinstalled apps appear in the android market. Is there a way of fixing this without having to download the apps from the market?
I have done the latest firmware update and for some reason I can not find the App called Calorie Counter. This was one of my favorite apps and now its like it never existed? Does anybody else not see calorie counter when they search for it? I don't understand how it could just not show up anymore in the market. If anyone has it, could they possibly back up the app to there SD card and send me the .apk file so I can install it? Would that work?
I have spent way too many hours, and too much of a very nice forum member's time as well, trying to add back the HTC Stock app missing from DC 2.08.1.Download: Removed APK's from Fresh Rom 2.1 Geek For Me - Android CDMA Sprint Hero Tried pushing from adb, tried installing thru apps installer, tried from astro file manager, tried from root explorer.
I just rooted my phone and flashed 2.2, but Sprint Navigation is missing. The navigation that loaded up is painfully slow, anyone know how I can get Sprint Navigation or an equivalent navigation app back onto my phone?
Has anyone's email notification stopped working? The envelope that usually appears in the notification bar doesn't show anymore, but when I look at my mail shortcut on the homescreen, it shows the green circle with the number of new emails. Did I accidentally change something or do you think it's a bug?
For some reason I am getting alerts for text messages and then when I try to read the message it is not there. Its like I never received it. I am using Handcent to manage my sms messages. I don't have it set to display a pop-up, which now I am thinking I should.
On my Sprint Hero's native IM app I can sign into AIM just fine but only 1/3 of my buddies show up... I thought this might be a common problem but can't find any mention of it anywhere... am I missing something? It's not that offline buddies are hidden.
EDIT: I'm aware of Hi AIM and the other third-party apps available but would rather use the native one if I can get it to work (I hardly touch AIM on the phone, just need to use it every once in awhile). Also, I have the 1.56 update.
I recently updated the handcent messaging app and after a few soft resets the icon on the home screen is gone. the name is there and a grey X. if i reinstall the app it reappears but it takes too much time to keep redoing my settings. anyone else notice that? it happened twice after about 8 soft resets.
Yesterday I had a missed called. I wanted to check at what time this person had called me. When I clicked on the phone icon that's at the bottom of the screen it opens all my call history (incoming, outgoing and missed calls).
But it doesn't not list anytime stamp for any type of call. I click on the menu button and click on call history. I click on the menu button again and click on the View option. Then I select Missed calls. The time stamps just show the day. For example some of them say 3 days ago or Yesterday but no time.
The only way i'm able to see the actual time of the missed call is if I open that person contact card and view the history from there.
Is there a way I can get this information with out having to open up the contacts?
Today I woke up, tried to pull down my email and look up a couple things on the web and my phone keeps telling me I have no connection. The sync icon (arrows chasing each other in a circle) is stuck at the top of the screen and my battery is disappearing rapidly. I've done a couple battery pulls and reboots with no change. What I'd NORMALLY do is update the data profile under menu/settings/about phone/system updates... But something I didn't know about CM6 is that this option is not there. (unless it's hidden somewhere else, then please point me in the right direction)."No problem", I think There are other ways to skin this cat. I type in ##3282#, which should allow me into a menu that allows me to refresh the data service... The phone doesn't respond at all "Odd", I think. So I try ##786#, which should open the reset menu... The phone didn't respond to that, either.
