Sprint HTC Hero :: Hero Clock - Alarm

I read that the flip clock is a battery drainer, so I figured I'd switch it out. I like the HTC weather, but I sorta want a digital clock.
HTC's alarm settings etc. are great, I'd like to keep those setting as the clocks that are on the market I'm guessing won't have as many features if they're free.
But can I swap my HTC clock widget yet still have HTC run my alarm? I'm not really sure if I can do this or not, but I didn't want to download/install a clock over the stock one and need to get it back, so I was wondering if anyone had done this before.

I like to power the phone down completely at night. Problem is the alarm will not work unless in standby mode, and I use my phone as my alarm.

My question is since this is basically a Hero repackaged can anyone tell me about the ability to use this as a bedside alarm clock. Does it change to a clock interface? Can it be dimmed? and how reliable is the alarm function? Also can you turn the phone volume off so alerts and phone calls dont ring while still leaving the alarm volume active?

Been trying hard since sunday to figure out how to add custom alarms to the alarm clock. I just miss alot of my alarms and want to be able to continue to use them on the Hero. so far everything I have tried does not work. I even created a "Media" folder with 3 sub folders "Alarms", "notifications", "Ringtones" even by placing them in these folders still nothing. I have been able to use the media player to add my music as a ringtone, however the music I have placed in the ringtone folder does not show up either in my phone.

Or is the hero's stock alarm clock completely useless? I set an alarm for 9:30 this morning and absolutely nothing happened. It even said "alarm will go off in 7 hours 43 minutes" or whatever when i created it. Whats a good alarm clock app on the market?

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones that can get mms on my hero but when i download the incoming mms it shows up once then after i close it i can not view or find the picture again. Ive mounted the phone and looked in the download folder of sd card but nothing is there, and its certainly not in any of my albums. Is this yet another bug int he Hero's mms handling? a side question is there a way to adjust the snooze time on the built in alarm clock?

Sometimes the clock will go weird, and the time won't change unless I touch the phone. This morning I woke up at half 8, I went to look at the time on my phone and it said 04:36, then after a couple of seconds updated to the actual time of half 8. As a result of this, my alarm set to half 6 didn't go off. I don't have any task killer apps, my phone was not turned off, or on silent.

It's getting quite annoying that I can't rely on my phone's alarm clock. I haven't had a separate alarm clock for years and I don't feel like buying it now. I can't really understand why the alarm does not work. It is like the phone gets into a sleeping mode and alarm clock stops working. Another sign is Astro player stops between songs and does not resume until I wake up the phone.

I have been using the alarm on the Hero as a wake up but it will only vibrate and not play sounds which it would always do without problems before. The weird part is that selecting a tone to play for the alarm has also stopped being audible, so in some ways this leads to an obvious conclusion?

I got allot of problems after I updated my hero..No sound on alarm clock.On menu title says Problem loading widget.Internet search in landscape mode, the window jumping up and down then I type.Oh, and the animation when I go from normal to landscape don't work, never did, tried to turn it on, but stil the normal fade thing Solution? Do I just try to update one more time?Come from Denmark so is the Danish rom

I never had this problem until upgrading to 2.1. I have my clock process excluded in my task manager, I check the volume level every night through Audio Manager and even in the clock app - and it is not going off. I set alarms for everything, so this is very frustrating.
I can set a test alarm for two minutes from now and it will go off with no issues at full volume. But if I leave it alone for awhile, the alarm won't go off. I think the most reasonable thing to assume here is that it has something to do with the clock not updating until you turn the phone on. I don't know what to do.

This morning my alarm went off like every morning, got up picked the phone up and hit dismissed. The alarm screen went a way but the sound did not. I pushed every button possible. I could not get it to stop and i could not turn the phone off. Finally I had no other option but to pull the battery. Any one else experience this with the new 2.1 update??

This problem happens everytime I have an alarm go off and someone has sent me a text message that has popped up. The only way to stop it is to turn the phone off. Anyone have any fixes for this? Or is it just a bug I have to deal with.

I have had the Hero since it came out, and I am actaully liking it more and more. Android is awesome, and HTC Sense is really cool. My only problem is The digital HTC clock (the white one) that looks like the old fashoined clock with weather under it is extremely laggy. For example I will turn my phone on (awake it) unlock the phone and in the upper right of the phone the time will be correct, say 4:55, then the big HTC clock will say 4:37 (usually the time is the last time since the phone was on) after 2-3 seconds it will adjust to the right time, it happens very often and happens whenever the phone goes from minute to minute. (5:15 in upper right, 5:14 on HTC clock) I have read threads about the clock being an hour off but mine is the right time and hours it is just laggy. Also it is not rooted, and when sprint sent the over the air update I downloaded that and it is still laggy and was before that. Is anyone else having this problem? turning it on and off does nothing at all, and I had to do a hard reset about 3 weeks ago and that didnt't help either.

Why the weather is disappearing on the clock widget? Sometimes I have to sync it to come back on the home screen. When the weather disappears I still have a internet connection. I noticed it today that I was having this problem. I contacted Sprint just to get this notated on my account. I read this on the forum before but I can't find it. How can I stop this from happening?

I've noticed after I have rooted and installed the newest Fresh rom I have problems getting my alarm to shut off in the morning. It's not a huge problem, just an annoyance. I have not installed vanilla lock screen, I did search the forums which states if you use that you have to use vanilla clock. I literally have to shut off the alarm every morning by shutting down the phone. Sometimes I do get lucky and it shuts off (after about 1-2 minutes) and then I have to disable the alarm and re-enable it or it will snooze.

I have a new Sprint hero and the Flip Clock doesn't flip it just changes and I've seen the Euro Hero it flips so cool, just like the flip clocks from the old days.. WTH why do our American phones always come watered down when compared to the Asian and Euro models!!!! Sorry for the rant! But I paid for a hero with a Flipping Clock that actually flips!! P.S. i've done some Youtubeing and all the videos that have the Sprint Hero they don't flip why!
