I thought I would share my experience with my HTC Hero and its in ability to all the sudden connect to the network. I woke up today and my htc hero would not connect to the network. I may have powered my phone down for the first time in weeks last night and that what caused it to not be able to connect. Anyhow, the culprit?the "wheres my droid" application. I put this on my phone a month ago and I had problems with my phone, so I deleted it and a handful of other apps that I thought might have messed up my phone. Then I tried it again about a week ago, and just this morning my phone stop connecting to the network. As a result I deleted it cuz it was the last app i downloaded. Presto, my phone started working again I went to the sprint store and everything and they didnt know what was wrong with it and were about to switch me to a new hero. I said HOLD ON, I dont want a new phone and have to set it up all over again.
Is anyone else having issues connecting to mobile network?I'm running Fresh 2.1.2. My network hasn't connected any today. I can't even toggle the mobile network widget. When I go to Settings Wireless, Mobile network is grayed our and it says "Turning on..." below it.I saw in another thread to cycle the network off and on. I have to do this through a long press on the power button, but it doesn't ever connect. Is this a phone issue, or could there be network problems in my area?
My phone was updated earlier today, and just now I realized a problem and need some help. If I am connected to wi-fi, and toggle off the wi-fi, it won't enter back into EV. My phone just goes without data network.
I had the stock ota 2.2 update...followed the 2.2 root exploit and eas running good, until i had problems with my sms text messaging and decided to revert back to stock and now i cant connect to sprint network. i called sprint customer service and had me do a bunch of reset and put in codes and still NO DICE! It is still showing "S-OFF" when i go to HBOOT. here are the specs on my phone: ANDROID 2.2 BASEBAND VERSION 2.15.00.07.28 KERNEL VERSION 220.127.116.11-G746F4F0 htc-kernel@18-2 #58 BUILD NUMBER 3.26.651.6 CL218634 release-keys SOFTWARE NUMBER 3.26.651.6 BROWSER VERSION Webkit 3.1 PRI VERSION 1.34_003 PRL VERSION 60662 I know i screwed up royally. My phone boots up to activate account but nothing happens. Is there anything else i can do? I'm going to Oakland tomorrow night for a vacancy and i would hate not having this bad ass phone with me as a DUD.
I am using HTC Hero, and am using MTNL and BPL loop services. But I am not able to connect via GPRS or EDGE or HSDPA. the APN settings get connected but the mobile network state always displays "Disconnected". I have checked all possible things to get it resolved, but in vain. please see screen shot attached.
My HTC Hero connects fine with the wifi, to the wireless network I have in my house. Yet when im in school, the network is secured with a proxy server. On my computer I connect to this ip : port(which is written into the options in the browser), then the login pops op, and it works.
My phone on the other hand connects perfectly to the network, but cant get past the proxy. - Where do I type in the proxy ip, password etc.? Or is there a application that allows me to actually get to the internet on my phone on this network?
I have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings. If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?
Is there a way to send text messages automatically when entering sprint network. Sometimes I send text messages while on the train. I set it to Sprint only to avoid roaming charges. My old phone would automatically send. This one I have to resend. Are there settings to auto send when entering the sprint network?
I have a rooted hero on sprint with unlimited data but I found out that o can tether my xbox but , I worry now Sprint may catch on to my tethering and may surprise me with a high bill since I haven't paid for mobile hotspot Not that I wouldn't but it is not available with my phone . So should I worry ?
I love my aria, i got it 9/29/10, for free from best buy because my contract expired... but ive already used 20MB and i only bought a 200MB plan... i might go to 2 gigs, but for an alternate, since my billing cycle ends the 28th of every month... if i disable application syncing, and mobile network from the hold menu... can i connect to my home wifi network, and go on the internet from there without that using any of my data plan?
I had been using Fresh Rom 2.0d by flipz since last night, and got everything setup, last night I had trouble updating the Profile and PRL so this morning I tried it again and succeeded the PRL update, unfortunately right after the PRL update the Sprint Network never came back. I can ROAM when I switch off Sprint Only but no Sprint Network. What can I do to resolve the issue? Tried resetting the phone to no help, pulled the battery and reset, also attempted to update PRL and Profile again but without Service it won't do either.
Well Sprint pissed of a co-worker of mine after a few days after the 30 day mark and now wants nothing to do with Sprint. He loves the phone but like I said will have nothing to do with Sprint network. So I am wondering if he has any options with using it on any other network by possibly flashing the phone or something.
I believe he has settled everything with Spring paid the early termination fees and payed up on his bills. So does he have any options now?
i have the newest firmware and everything is fine and i did read the "how to's" before posting this. i'm on sprint and i've got unlimited everything. i tried the "internet sharing" thing when i plugged it in to my computer (all htc sync software and drivers installed) and i kept getting a data call failure so i thought sprint disabled that feature. i was messing with the wifi on my phone and i connected to my router, then when i plugged it in i tried the "internet sharing" option again this time it worked. but, as in the "how to" it doesn't have the little 3g symbol beside the clock. all it has it the wifi symbol. so, is my pc connected to the internet via my phones internet or my home internet?
Everyday my mobile network goes on and off even inside my house. Im trying to do something and i realize i cant because my mobile network is off, i dont use wifi because i want to save battery life. This issue is very annoying because i dont know how to stop it, i want it to be ON always.
At the office, we have a high-speed reliable WiFi network.I don't have problems connecting to it with my macbook and iPod Touch. On my Android phone, I use the toggle switch to turn on/off WiFi to save battery power. My frustration is as follows:* When I use the WiFi setting to check the box to turn on WiFi, it shows that it's available with a strong connection.* It shows "Obtaining address" for a long time period and often fails to actually connect.Status - Obtaining IP address from XXXXX Pulbic WiFi Access and it just sits there with the word "Obtaining..." forever it seems. Sometimes, or often, I can't even get it to connect.Does anyone else have this problem connecting to a strong WiFi network from their device?Suggestions on resolving this matter?
I don't know if it was a settings app (Quick Settings by Sergey) from the android market that caused it, but after uninstalling that app (the only other one i use right now is the lock screen widget - which i just uninstalled), i can't turn the mobile network on. i've tried the airplane mode trick, gone into settings, soft reset, etc. any ideas in the manage applications? i'd rather not do another hard reset (had to for the google account). i called htc and they were useless - with no trouble shooting, they recommended a hard reset and to not download apps! btw, i'm on a non-rooted phone.
I can use any of my other ROMs without issue (Darch, Fresh, etc.) , but CM6 does not connect to the mobile network for some reason. And since ##3282# and ##786# do not work, I am stuck. How does one activate this thing?
I have a quick question for all you geeks here, I was reading a thread about updating the PRL, and when I decided to check what version I was on I also noticed that while scrolling down that the mobile Network State says disconnected, is this normal? I know I have my mobile icon turned on, any input would be great, and also what does updating the profile do?
I leave my network off to conserve the battery. but the mms will show in my sms threads but wont notify me unless i have the mobile network on. is there any fix? seems like if it knows i have an mms without the network on it should know to notify me. my whole family has heros ( 7 including me ) and its the same for everyone.
I bluetooth'd my Hero to my laptop and here's more info on it.
1. The speakers on the laptop serve as a wireless speaker system when you make or receive a call. 2. The speakers also play music from your Hero. 3. Transfer files to and from the Hero 4. Send a fax 5. Tether! 6. PIM sync (hello WinMo users!) 7. Wireless printing
I've performed all of these functions without a hitch. So the Hero looks as if it's a better phone than anticipated... at least for me anyway.
I have been having some trouble getting my mobile network sharing to work. I have my mobile network on and its connected to my computer and i have htc sync installed and it starts to connect. It load the adapter to my comp but i get this error code 67 thing and it says that my PCS vision user name or password may be incorrect.
