Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 :: Delete Downloaded Files And Browser's Temp Files
Nov 6, 2010
Sometimes I'm browsing the web and... One more download... And then oops! Another one...Then I realised that those downloads are still in my download list and there's no option to COMPLETELY remove them. Also, where do I clean browser's temporary files?
When I'm trying to transfer music files or whatever to my x10 mini pro via USB, files larger than 2.5Mb get completely hung up, crashing both my phone and my computer (this happens on my work desktop and my laptop at home, win7 and winXP). I have to disconnect the cable and take out the battery and restart my phone in order to fix it. Smaller files go quickly and without issue, which leads me to believe it's not an issue with the usb cable (I've tried a few different ones also). Also, if I transfer files to the SDcard directly using a card reader, it's no problem. This is super frustrating since it means I have to take the back off the phone and take the card out to move music around, and it's something I do pretty often.
Until last week I could copy files between my Xperia X10 mini and laptop via cable. All of a sudden the PC cannot see the phone anymore. Did I perhaps change any settings on the phone or what must I do to resolve the problem?
Please bear with me as I am a recent convert to Android having been with Nokia and their Symbian system for years It's soooo outdated compared to Android I have been trying to install both the Swype beta apk & the HTC keyboard apk files onto my X10 for the last couple of days. I followed the instructions to get the file on my SD card and when I go to try and install it (using Astro) the phone keeps on asking me if I want to install it . I have the option in 'Unknown Sources' ticked to allow installs NOT from the market. I was going to format the SD card to see if that helps but I don't know if that will lose any system files vital to the phone. Strange thing is that the ADW Launcher installed fine and I didn't get that from the market.
I bluetoothed some pictures from my laptop to my X10 but they go into their own file named 'Bluetooth', how do i move them from there into another file? i used to be able to do it on my old phones, but android is new to me.
This time I wanted to play some media , a WMV file, from FOXDIGITALCOPY, and it seems Xperia doesnt support it - atleast that's what the FOXDIGITALCOPY software tells me when I tried to sync up the media from my PC.
Also, this file doesnt even show up on the mediascape screen though I copied into the videos folder where other videos are saved.
I tried to play a more smaller and simpler file - the wildlife HD video sample from Windows - which is again a WMV file.
This time, Xperia tries to play it, but the video only comes up as stills while the audio plays as normal.
I have try sending and recieve stuff to and from HTC HD2 and my previous W995, and i dont have problem. But recently when i tried to send the Motorola (its an andriod phone but i dunno the model), it cannot go though.
I used both windows explorer and media go to copy video and photo files to my phone card. I can see them on the card but when i unmount and i search them on the phone i can't find them. Is there a setting i'm missing?
How to view pdf files on my x10 mini pro? I copied a pdf to my sd card but the music and image files were visible but couldn't find the pdf file so I shifted it first 2 video folder than 2 album but I still cant find it on my mini pro? The specs say it has a document viewer but where? Is there a way 2 access 2 my sd card folder on mini pro rather on computer?
I was having that "My phone does not turns on" problem, then I decided to repair the software. Using the PC Companion I've done all the requested steps. The problem is: when I try to restore the backup I've made I get the following error: "Could not restore files".
Even when I choose only to restore contacts, the "Applications" is also included in the restore list. Then the Contact percentage goes to 100%, while restoring, and the error message appears. I even have the backup .sbf file.
I tried to send my wife a copy of a picture using Bluetooth yesterday, by going to the picture, pressing the left button (the one with 4 squares).Somehow, it gave my wife access to all the files on my phone. That didn't matter, insofar as there was nothing on it I didn't mind her seeing (though I don't think she expected quite so many pictures of Lucy Liu! ) but I wonder if anyone knows what I might have done wrong?Or, perhaps, the phone is set up in such a way that you have to be sure to trust someone completely before sending information by Bluetooth? If it helps, I'll try to recreate what happened later, but if anyone knows off-hand what I might have done and how it ought to be done differently.
