Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini/pro :: Unresponsive Touchscreen When Connected To Pc Companion / What To Fix
Sep 26, 2010
I'm having a "mini" problem with my x10 mini pro. When pc companion detects my phone and prompts me to tap the notification tab the touchscreen freezes! eventhought im tapping the connect to pc nothing happens..what can i do? i can't complete my connection to pc companion due to this hiccup..
I've got a Mini Pro and the operator is T-Mobile. T-Mobile only approved the update yesterday so I went to update it via PCC after updating PCC and Backup And Restore. Before I started updating, I backed it up. Now I started the updating process and I was on step 2. It asks me to remove the USB cable from the phone and turn it off. Then insert the cable back in WHILE holding the Back key. When I do this, nothing happens except PCC tells me that they can sense a Sony Ericsson phone. I've tried doing it more than 5 times and it's the same thing over again.
I checked PCC earlier because other people had successfully updated to 2.1 but it said mine was fully up-to date when I had the phone connected. In the settings, I have it set to check for updates everytime I connect the phone, and when I check for updates via the handset it says there's an update available and I should check PC Companion.I did an update anyway, even though it said my phone is fully up-to date to see if that would put 2.1 on, but it's still at 1.6.any idea why PCC is not prompting me?
I got the notification on the new software update and it says connect to a PC to receive it. Then you get told to download this PC companion. So I have done. Then I notice it says no phone connected. So I click how to connect I then get to stage two and it says connect usb cable to your computer and then to your phone so I do that and nothing happens. I wait 30 seconds and nothing happens I disconnect my phone and connect it again and still nothing happens all its doing is charging my phone. I've done it over and over again and nothing happens.
I've had my mini pro for 3 days now and i've experienced this problem since my first initial charge.
It seems that the touchscreen does not work once i resume from standby. The keys work and so does the keypad but the system doesn't respond when i touch the screen. At first I thought it was because the phone was charging and so it doesnt operate whilst charging. However, i've encountered this problem 4-5 times with the phone discharged. The only way i can get around this is by removing the battery and putting it back in, which restarts the phone. I don't think this is normal and i've consulted with my friend who has the same phone and claims he has no issues with it so far. So what is going on here?
2nd time- phone was on standby around 3 hours
3rd time- phone was on standby 8 hours
4th time - dont remember
5th time - 10 mins (ridiculous -.-)
Im thinking it may be a phone issue and not the battery (since all the keys work except touchscreen). Also, this DOES not happen everytime phone is on standby. It acts faulty whenever it wants which is very irritating. If anyone is experiencing the same problem pls dont hesitate to post your ideas. I love this phone very much but this problem is leaving me in doubt.
I want to install some applications from the Android market, but every time my X10 mini says the download/installation failed. I tought this was related to a glitch in the software so I wanted to restore the settings by means of the PC Companion, however this also crashes and only returns the sony ericson support email ...
I just bought the Sony Ericsson Xperia x10 Mini Pro. I have a problem with the memory stick. It says it's connected and everything, but it also says it's empty. Main point being; I can't get the memory stick to work. I use the default memory stick (2GB), the one that came with the phone.
I am with Xperia X10 and I know that there has to be an update! At least when I connect the phone to the laptop, that's what my PC Companion is telling me. But I can't go past the plug the cable and hold the back button. I tried both the companion and the update service but I can't go past the plug in and press back buttons. If I hold it for a longer period of time, the phone just turns back on!
I tried to update (with pc companion) my xperia 10i. First part is going oke, but after switch the xperia off and on nothing happens ....all the security software is off so thats not the problem i think.
Please is it possible for me to browse the internet on my pc using my sonyericsson xperia x10 mini pro. Dont know how cause the phone doesnt support Pc suite, only Pc companion, and hence I dont know how else to do it.
I need help syncing my xperia x10 to my PC Companion through BT. Pc is able to detect and install the drivers but I keep getting an error message on my PC Companion saying my phone, is not able to connect through bluetooth at the moment. Tried rebooting pc, reinstalling PC Companion, still nothing.
I tried using the the latest SEUS and pc companion but I always got this error in vista "SEMC device driver failed to install, cannot create a file that already existed" whenever I press hold the back button ang connect the usb.
When I insert the USB into my PC, and the Micro USB into my phone I hear a noise but no pop-up comes up on the phone asking me what I want to do.I hear a noise conformation from the phone that a USB device is in use, and the icon at the top but I don't get that list and PC Companion can't detect my phone through the USB. This was working just 20 minutes ago, but it isn't now?
Sony Ericsson PC Companion software noticed me of an update today, but I get this message all the time. (se added image).I even downloaded the latest version from SE.com, ran as Admin and still same problem. Now I realize the old version is gone to, and I have no longer the Companion software.Im new at SE mobiles, and Im worried that I no longer can use my mobile on this machine. As this being my only one, I got no clue on what to do.Im also worried that Ericsson will require that I fix this myself, as Im not being any software geek I will request support from Ericsson.
I am having a problem with a software update through a PC, using the PC Companion. It says that I have an installation error when it goes into step 3 and updating my phone. I posted two pictures at the bottom about the errors.
I now that the new 2.1 software is out so I checked on my phone to see if I could download it. It said that I should connect my phone to my computer and download it. When I do, PC Companion says my phone is up to date. What's the solution?
I got the SE Xperia 10 mini and I am trying to connect to PC Companion. when I try to connect to install it it doesn't do anything what am I doing wrong? Really need some photos and music on the phone but cant seem to do anything as bluetooth doesn't work either!
I was using my PC Companion software today to sync up my music and noted the Syncing link. When I started it, it brought me to a Sony website where I can store and sync contact's, calendar and a bunch of things. So it looked pretty interesting and it is free, part of the X10 package, or is it? Well it appears AT&T has stripped that option out of our phones as there is No SE Sync option in the sync section of our settings. Even if we follow the directions to do it, still no joy.
I can't install the PC companion 2.00.146. i already downloaded it but when its time to install it it says "Error Number: 0x80040707. Description: DDL function call crashed: NewUI.ISGlobalSubclassDialog." i already downloaded it 5 times assuming that maybe the PC companion was not downloaded properly but again the same problem occurs.
