Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini/pro :: Unable To Start Phone Software Update Components
Got the update notification today in PC companion but when I try to update I get the error "unable to install or start phone software update components". I waited too long for this update.

2.1 Update :: Unable To Install Or Start Software Update Components
I've been trying to update my phone now for nearly two weeks, trying various options, yet nothing I do helps in any way.I started off just running the update from SEUS with my phone as i've been using it.the updater started, gets about 70% through "Preparing" and pops up an error "Unable to install or start software update components." Closing which pops up "try again" or come to this site.I then tried uninstalling all installed components, same result as above.I then tried a Master Reset to factory setting, same result as above.I then disable the Firewall and the Anti-Virus, same result as above.Basically, i'm at the end of my tether, this should not be this difficult, I should not have to jump through this amount of hoops.If there was a way to legitimately root the phone (keeping warranty), I could already have Froyo installed, instead of this irritating mess thats causing me nothing but headaches.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini/pro :: Didn't Update Phone Software
I had notification saying I had to update my phone software. I backed up my settings then plugged my phone to my PC and started the update. Followed every instruction and restored my settings back to my phone. I checked on the ABOUT PHONE in the SETTINGS section and noticed that my phone has not been updated at all. Firmware version is still 1.6. Build Number is 1.2.A.1.174. And to top it off........every time I get a delivery report of my credit balance.......the £ sign has been replaced by a white diamond with a ? sign inside it!

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini/pro :: Software Update Not Working
Not sure if this topic has been discussed before, but I've just purchased my X10 mini and tried updating the phone software but I'm receiving an error regarding my internet connection, even though my connection is fine. The download gets to near completion and then I receive an error message. I tried updating via PC Companion and the update available on the site (version 2.10.10.9) but the same problem occurs. What could be the reason for this?

The peria X10 mini pro has the firmware version Donut (v 1.6) while newer versions like Eclair (v 2.1) and Froyo (v 2.2) have already been released and the other manufacturers have already used them in the phones. Android systems is ready to release the next version of the OS: Gingerbread (v 3.0) while we still use the crappy 1.6 base version. When will the software upgrade to atleast 2.1 or 2.2 be available for the X10 mini pro users?

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Unable To Start Wifi/Bluetooth
I'm getting this problem where I can connect to WiFi the first time with no problem but once I disconnect and the phone sleeps, it can't connect to the network again and says "Unable to Start WiFi", I can't even get to Wireless settings because it can't start the WiFi. It's the same story with Bluetooth. It'll work once. If I turn the phone off and then on again, it will work once more but only ONCE before doing the same thing again.

I activate timescape and it took all my facebook contacts and put it in the address book of my phone, and now i can not see my Sim contacts. how can I undo this, I already turn off facebook in timescape, maybe i should delete it for now as i don't use it, i like to keep my phone contact separate from facebook and access facebook only when i need it. and now i can't configure personal ring for the people i have in my phone book, because it took all the facebook information and its with timescape and doesn't have an option to set a ring for the contact in edit part i just can add it to favorites o delete contact. and i still can not see my Sim contacts they are somewhere because when i tap a name in search bar it shows me the contact and phone, but I'd like to see what i have. i already export my contact from Sim to phone but they still don't show.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini/pro : Unable To Upgrade To Android 2.1 / How To Fix?
I have been trying to update from 1.6 to 2.1 these last few days. Depending on the USB port I either get an error when PC Companion, or Update Service is in the preparation stage, something like: All components needed to continue could not be found. Or I get to the stage when you turn off the phone and restart it with the backbutton pressed which leads to XP wanting to find drivers for SEMC usb flash. By looking through other communities I found those drivers could be found in: C:Program Files (x86)Sony EricssonUpdate ServicesetupdriversUSBFlashDriver.zip. I could initually install those to one USB port, but when trying to download the update through Update Service I get yet another error that the task could not be completed.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Need Software Update
As you've probably guessed this is regarding not having the G mail account details to unlock my phone. I have looked through the threads on this site (amongst countless others) and nothing has been overly helpful so I figured I'd just ask Basically, I have locked myself out of my phone and can't remember the G mail details required to unlock it. Most people keep replying with "Do a software update using PC Companion" but this doesn't make sense to me as you need to have your phone unlocked to be able to connect your phone to it so that doesn't work (unless there is something painstakingly obvious that I'm overlooking?) I've done the obvious things; taking out the battery, taking out the SIM, trying every single email/password combination I've ever used but nothing is working.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: How To Update Software?
I got my phone about two months ago, for the past few weeks I have been having problems with the microphone. When I call people sometimes every things fine, other times I need to hang up and call again because they cant hear me. Sometimes I need to call 3 or 4 times until they can hear me. I took it back to the shop where I got it and they thought it might be a software problem. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Also I have tried updating the software on my laptop and it doesn't seem to be working.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini/pro : Unable To Get / Import / Transfet Contacts
Did two different bacups, and I am positive that I did backup of contacts. Also did a bacup of all contacts on my online account at sonyericsson.com Did an upgrade of android 1.6 -> 2.1. I ran restore. Everythinge else is restored, just not one single Name or Number. No contacts. Tried both bacups several times, I get a confirmation that the restore is done. Still nothing. Hooked it up to my PC, and performed a sync with my page on sonyericsson.com. Nothing. I am at a loss. It's always a small disaster to loose all numbers and names. I still have them all, I just can't get my phone to give a ****, it seems. ( Also tried installing the new Backup & Restore (1. Nov), m.sonyericsson.com/backup, but it gives me the message "not installed" every time i try. Nothing more. I think maybe it's because I might allready have that program on my phone).

When i receive an email i go to open it and it can take up to a minute to open or i have to go to my next email and return to the previous one and it then appears ?? 3. Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 ::back Up Before Software Update
Im about to do my first update and i really dont have a clue what im doing !! i downloaded the free MY back up yesterday .. saved apps and data to the sd card and started the download through the phone in the software update section in 'about phone' ...neway i ran out of time before i went to work and cancelled the update as it was taking AGES ! So i today , i go to resume the update , but check first that all my data is still in my back up ... and surprise surprise my 30 day free trial has ran out after less than 24 hrs ! ... thank god i checked ! Anyway ... what i really want to know is ... A) is it worth the updates .. any real benefit ? (bearing in mind im not very technically minded , clearly!) B) If it is .. then what is the best, trusty free file manager ... that will store my apps , contacts , settings etc ... basically everything! C) Should i do it through the website, via my laptop and usb rather than through the phone ? heres my stats ...not that i have a clue what they mean....baseband 1.0.14, kernel 2.6.29-rel, build number R1FA014. i gather that these updates alter the build number?

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Software Update Request
Has anyone else had a software update request on the x10 in the last few days that hasn't actually worked, followed onscreen instructions but didn't do anything. Now the phone is cancelling calls, ringing random people on my past call list and going very slow. I'm based in the uk and use t mobile as my network provider, contacted them but informed me i'd have to go through sony ericsson itself, spoke to somebody on work experience by the sounds of things, couldn't be bothered to help me, the best advice I actually received was to turn off phone, remove battery, restart phone, try to download the software update of the settings menu, did this but had the connect to your pc and try this message, the guy just said thats all that can be done to resolve this.
