Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Screen Timeout Not Working?
Nov 16, 2010
since updating to 2.1 i cannot get the auto screen timeout to work i have tried all the settings under screen timeout with no joy has any one else had simmler problems or any solutions to this problem.
I just cannot believe whats happening with my brand new cell phone. Initially when i purchased it , this device started restarting. And when i complain to the SE they told me the battery connecter is damaged. So they sent my cell phone to Dubai SE. Got it replaced, and no restart yet. BUT the right side screen flickers and the switch on/off button is not working. So i cannot switch off my cell phone. If i remove battery and then again insert it, then phone start automatically without using the switch on button. What must be done, i have purchased this cell phone in Qatar and now i am in India. Please help this is so kinda heartbreaking
I've had my Xperia X1 since christmas 2008, About 2 weeks ago while i was writing a text and the screen went blank so i just thought my battery had gone. when i got home i put it on charge over night and when i got up in morning i tried turning it on and nothing happened (i mean that little vibrate it dones when it switches on), so i took the battery out for 5 minutes then put it back in and tried again and it did that vibrate thing but nothing came up on screen but then someone started ringing me (still nothing on screen) and when i pressed button to answer it, it wouldn't answer and kept on ringing. I've tried updating the software from my laptop and i think it updated it but i couldn't tell because i can't see anything lol but it's still the same. i haven't dropped it or anything so i haven't got a clue why it's suddenly stopped working.....
So, I've been using Juice Defender for a while. It's been working good. The issue I have is the timeout function shuts itself off all the time. I open Juice Defender, it's not enabled. i enable it, then 5 minutes later, it's off.
Around the same time, my battery life has been going down a bit. I rarely use a lot of data, so I'm not sure what's going on. All the other settings stay where I set them.
But now whenever I'm taking a call the touch screen stops working, so the only way for me to hang up is to take the battery out.Has anyone else had the same problem and is their anything I can do to fix this?
These are the current problems I experience with my X8.The alarm clock sometimes disappears when set after going in standby. This is the most annoying issue as I use it as an alarm clock to wake up. Going back in and out to the menu of the alarm clock without changing any setting "fixes" the alarm clock. It appears again on the home screen then. There is a big security problem with the pattern security. Sometimes when waking up from standby by you see the correct pattern for a couple of seconds, so there is no way to protect your mobile from getting used.Sometimes the wifi just doesn't want to connect to a wifi network, turning the wifi on and off for several times seem to fix this after a long while. When starting to type, in a text field most of the times you have like 4 second timeout which is really annoying.Sometimes the phone hangs and only taking the battery out will get you back started.
So I did some modding (unfortunately) to the framework-res.apk file and it worked the first time and a few other times but then I changed something and now when I turn on the phone it freezes at the "Sony Ericsson" screen before the logo. What do I do?
I tried pushing the backup framework file but it says "failed to copy framework-res.apk to /sdcard/framework-res.apk: Permission denied
However, when I use adb devices, it does show my device as being attached.
So what can I do now?
I was also able to pull files...
Also tried manually putting the framework-res.apk in the sdcard and then using adb to copy it to the framework folder. Doesnt work. Saids that the directory cannot be open for read. I guess the device cant read the SD card until it boots up.
Whenever I try to connect my Xperia to my pc via USB port nothing happens. The problem started after I updated my phone's software not to 2.1 (as its not available for my phone as yet) but another update that the software said was available. Upon completing the update I then reconnected my phone to the USB port but then my computer said there's no drivers installed for my phone. I've tried letting windows search for drivers but no luck with that. I find this strange when previously everything worked fine and I could browse the files on my memory card, but now all I get is no drivers are available. I've tried searching for drivers on line, but there doesn't seem to be none. Is there any way to solve this problem?
I am a new x10 owner, I have 1 dekstop, 2 laptops, and a playstation3 all connected to my router wirelessly and they all work fine, so the signal strength and availability are definitely out of question. I've tried using different security protocols and they all yield the same result, it cannot successfully obtain an IP address. Occasionally it would work, but most of the time it doesn't.
Over the past few days, no matter where I am (ie connected to different towers) whenever I change from the gsm only option to 3g my phone loses reception altogether and the only way I can get it back is by restarting the phone.
Up until Sunday, my Sat Nav on either Co Pilot or Google Navigation was perfect - it knew exactly where I was and was incredibly accurate. On Sunday, for some reason, both sat nav apps can't seem to pin point my location and think I'm up to 30 feet away from where I actually am.. which then has a problem with navigation as it thinks I'm on another street.I tried re-installing the phone software (using PC Companion, so it was completely a clean install) and this still hasn't helped.
I'm hoping someone can help me with what I assume is a simple query! I recently purchased an Xperia X10 and have inserted my Sim from my old W995. Whilst I'm prompted for my Sim pin number (which works), I can't get any of my contact details. In the phone book - I keep getting the following message -> My number: SIM card unavailable.
Timescape wont load on my phone, i get the error message 'the application timescape provider [provider com.sonyericsson.android.contentmanager.service.ti mescape] has stopped unexpectedly. why is this? i have rebooted my phone, this also sometimes happened to my messaging application
I only got my X10 just over a week ago and the menu, home and back buttons on the bottom were randomly not working and it's only becoming more and more consistant. It's driving me nuts and it's especially frustrating since it's a brand new phone. I can't find anything on the internet and yes my phone software is upgraded. The guy at Rogers was like oh welllll guess you'll just have to wait 2 weeks until the next upgrade then MAYBE it will work again.
Once in a while the drop down notification thing wont drop down. its frozen or something.. is this new or anyone else have this once in a while? app drawer slides up ok and i can go left or right, page to page but down.. no
I am having problems with bluetooth.I can receive bluetooth files but for some reason i get an error when trying to send photos or music via bluetooth to other devices.I don't understand. Both devices are paired and are discoverable yet when I try to send anything i get a message 'Error! Could not send file'.Any ideas what the problem is?
I now have a problem with my battery. A few hours ago, my battery level was around 35%. A few hours later, it remained at 35% indication. Since this couldn't be correct, i restarted the phone. Now, my battery indication was 100%. False again. I turned the phone off. It wouldn't restart. I tried the 'flash device method' by holding back button and putting in computer USB. No help. I tried SEUS. After that, phone switched back on, with false battery indication back to 100%, which is impossible. I noticed that during all this 'fun stuff', my battery refuses to charge. The LED indicator remains green without flashing, the settings screen doesnt say 'charging'. I know that the phone won't charge below 95% battery. So, the phone thinks the battery is 100%, therefore won't charge, and I'm pretty screwed, especially since I fear that once my battery drops dead, the phone won't be able to charge ever since it will think its 100% full.
I'm on 2.1 nordic on vodaphone uk. 3G was working fine using switch pro to turn it on and off, then I turn it on to download a MMS which it failed and now it won't turn on again! I've put it on airplane mode and changed between network modes that used to enable me to turn it on again in 1.6 but it won't do anything now. I tried turning on and off the arrows show for about 30 seconds then it stops. I had similar problems with 1.6 and that was the vodaphone 1.6 official version. Why is the X10 so crap with 3G?
I've tried numerous switchers on 1.6 and they all ended up stopping working after a while but I could always get it working again now it just failed. Is there anything I should be doing to get MMS to work properly and how do I get 3G back? Any settings I need to put into the APN settings even though it seems everything is filled in automatically by selecting vodaphone as my network. Is it a Android flaw in general or just the X10? I would be totally happy with this phone apart from this which I keep thinking has gone away then starts up again!
I just had my updates. However, when i re-download the Handcent SMS, i notice the LED notification is not working like before. I have ensure the LED notification is turned on with a reasonable frequency. Would like to know is it the Application problem? or is it the phone?
iv been trying to update my x10 all evening with no luck i have the latest companion downloaded iv backed up my data iv disabled my anti virus software still no good. i live in the republic of Ireland and im with the meteor network! im currently on 1.6 android platform! i get as far as step 2(prepare) on the phone software update but it just says INSTALLER ERROR UNABLE TO INSTALL OR START PHONE SOFTWARE COMPONENTS
I have had my phone for a few months now and it works great but every now and again one of my apps stop working for example: the facebook app tells me an error has occured whilst fetching data. or the com.sonyericsson app that I don't know what it does tells me the process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly and tells me to force close. I~s there anything I can do to solve these minor errors.
